Breaking down every Big 12 game in Week 8 including Texas and Houston

We look at the entire Big 12 slate for Week 8.

We have arrived at Week 8 with several Big 12 teams playing meaningful football. While we know Oklahoma and Texas are the two top teams in the conference there isn’t much else we can say of the league.

The Big 12 has become the most unpredictable league in college football. Not long ago, Oklahoma State and Houston looked like sinking ships. In the last few weeks, the teams upset three conference contenders in Kansas State, Kansas and West Virginia.

Houston stands as Texas’ next opponent in what figures to be a game fraught with unexpected twists and turns. As for Oklahoma State, the Cowboys look to follow the Houston Cougars’ upset win over West Virginia with one of their own.

Let’s look at the Week 8 set of games for the Big 12 conference.

ESPN commentators set for Georgia versus Auburn

ESPN has set the announcers for the Georgia Bulldogs versus Auburn Tigers college football game including Kirk Herbstreit & Chris Fowler

The Georgia Bulldogs will have their home-opener against the highly ranked Auburn Tigers this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Kirby Smart and the University of Georgia are hosting a 1-0 Auburn team, who just defeated Kentucky 29-13 last week.

The Bulldogs come into their first game in Athens as a team looking for an offensive identity. Georgia was quite impressive on the defensive side of the football in their 37-10 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks in week one.

The ESPN commentators for the prime time game are set. Chris Fowler will do the play by play and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit will be an analyst alongside Fowler. Alison Williams will handle of the sideline reporting in a reduced capacity Stanford Stadium environment.

Prior to the contest, ESPN’s College Football GameDay will be hosted live from Athens, Georgia. The Georgia versus Auburn game is the only top ten match-up this week and is the first of the season. The game is crucial for both teams. The loser will face an uphill battle in the SEC.

The SEC has another quality match-up this week in the Alabama versus Texas A&M game.

Another week of college football means another day of hilarious signs at ESPN’s College Football GameDay. ESPN traveled to Waco, Texas for a Big 12 battle: the one-loss Oklahoma Sooners at the undefeated Baylor Bears. The game amounts to a College Football Playoff elimination game.

The other potential playoff elimination game is Georgia at Auburn. The Auburn Tigers are playoff long shots, but if they defeat both Georgia and Alabama, then they’ll have quite a case for making the final four. Additionally, the Tigers have a quality win over potential Pac-12 champion Oregon.

This sign (below) appears to be taking a shot at the Georgia Bulldogs. South Carolina upset Georgia earlier in the season, but one-loss Georgia remains ahead of undefeated Baylor, the Bears’ best non-conference win is over UTSA.
