Release date finally announced for College Football 25

Release date finally announced for College Football 25 #GoBucks

It’s finally here. After ten long years, EA Sports has finally, officially, announced the release date for the upcoming College Football 25 video game. We can expect a large portion of our country to skip work on the release date of Friday July 19th, but that date is for the standard edition.

The game will feature a deluxe version, which is more expensive, but will allow for three day early access. The game is only being released on the newest generation of consoles, which includes the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, which means if you are still dabbling on the Xbox 360 like I, then you will need to upgrade.

EA Sports has confirmed that all 134 FBS schools will be playable and the classic Dynasty and Road to Glory modes will return. We will continue to monitor the video game news as it drops and will be watching the gameplay trailer once it drops on Friday the 17th.

EA Sports reveals release date, cover athletes for College Football 25

EA Sports announces July 19 release date for College Football 25, and reveals three football stars who will grace the cover.

Over ten years after the release of NCAA Football 14, EA Sports revealed on Thursday the date for College Football 25 to finally come out and mark the return of video games for college athletics.

EA announced a July 19 release date for the highly anticipated game, and revealed a trio of college football stars will be on the cover of the game’s standard edition: Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, Colorado dual threat Travis Hunter, and Michigan running back Donovan Edwards.

“Donovan, Quinn and Travis are extraordinary talents who impressed and entertained millions of college football fans on the field last season and are poised to do so again this year,” EA Sports SVP and Group GM Daryl Holt, said in a statement. “We’re proud to be able to incorporate thousands of current athletes in College Football 25, and featuring this trio of playmakers and their iconic college programs on the cover is a perfect fit as we usher in a new era for EA SPORTS and college football.”

EA Sports’ college games were discontinued after the release of NCAA Football 14 following Ed O’Bannon’s lawsuit against the NCAA. The emergence of NIL now allows student-athletes to profit off their likeness in video games, which opened the door for the franchise to return under a new name.

More information will be revealed about the new game on May 17, and after an 11-year wait fans now only have two more months until college football is back at EA Sports.

EA Sports ‘College Football 25’ cover leaked

EA Sports brings back their college football franchise this summer.

If you are a college football fan and a video game fan, the return of EA Sports’ college football video game franchise is like Christmas in the summer. There’s been no official release date set, but we expect it to be in mid-July. May 16 is supposed to be the official date for the cover image release, but the MUTLeaks X account appears to have leaked the cover a day early.

According to the image they put out, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter and Michigan running back Donovan Edwards will be the trio of cover athletes. EA’s college football franchise returns after more than 10 years.

The College Football 25 cover with 3 big-name players (Travis Hunter?!) may have leaked

Is this the leaked cover for the much anticipated College Football 25?

We’re all waiting for the drop of College Football 25 from EA Sports, which has a really cool-looking cover for the deluxe edition, but which also may have a very expensive Heisman Edition.

And on Wednesday, we might have seen the leaked cover for the standard version, starring Colorado’s Travis Hunter, Texas’s Quinn Ewers and Michigan’s Donovan Edwards. Shedeur Sanders might want to complain about not being included, but this is pretty good!

Is this the real thing? We have no idea at the moment. But here you go: a look at the cover people are buzzing about on X (formerly Twitter):

EA Sports’ College Football 25 Heisman Edition’s hefty price was seemingly leaked, and fans are really upset

Will you pay $150 for the deluxe edition of the upcoming College Football 25?

We have no confirmation here that you’ll have to shell out a whopping $150 for a deluxe edition of the new and highly anticipated College Football 25, but there’s an alleged leak of that price on X (formerly Twitter) that’s going viral.

A GameStop database listing shows the price for the game at $70. But then there’s an “HE” listed for $149.99. Is that “Heisman Edition”? And if so, the fact that it could be more than twice the price of the regular version has fans concerned.

Here’s a sampling of the reaction to that post from fans waiting for the game to officially drop:

EA Sports releases the cover players for College Football 25 video game

EA Sports releases the cover players for College Football 25 video game and they’re all prominent 2025 NFL Draft prospects too

One of the most anticipated video game releases in years is coming soon. EA Sports is bringing back the wildly popular college football game later this year.

In advance of the game’s release on console platforms later this summer, EA Sports has released the cover of the “College Football 25”. It features several prominent college football players who are popular first-round projections for the 2025 NFL Draft, too.

Among those players/prospects featured on the cover, which was released on social media:

  • Michigan RB Donovan Edwards
  • Texas QB Quinn Ewers
  • Colorado WR/DB Travis Hunter

They are the primary visible cover players, but they are not alone. Alabama QB Jalen Milroe, Georgia QB Carson Beck and Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins are also visible, as are unnamed players from other programs who will be featured in the game.

Which Texas Longhorns would you like to see on the cover?

For plenty of fans, they have been waiting for the college football video game to return to consoles. The wait is almost over as it is expected to officially drop this summer. For Texas Longhorns fans, they will see a familiar face on the cover of the game.

According to the deluxe edition cover of EA Sports College Football 25 in the Playstation Store, quarterback Quinn Ewers is front and center along with Donovan Edwards of Michigan, Travis Hunter of Colorado, and Quinshon Judkins of Ohio State. You can also see Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe and Georgia quarterback Carson Beck.

It is a who’s who of college athletes on the cover. Despite Arch Manning not opting in to be included in the game, there are plenty of other notable players including the starter for Texas that will be included in the game.

As is the tradition in the NFL with Madden ratings and in the NBA with 2K ratings, it should only be a matter of time to see what your favorite Longhorns get rated at.

A few players I am interested to see their grades on:

  • Quinn Ewers, Quarterback
  • Isaiah Bond, Wide Receiver
  • Matthew Golden, Wide Receiver
  • Kelvin Banks Jr, Offensive Tackle
  • Andrew Mukuba, Safety
  • Anthony Hill Jr, Linebacker

As the countdown continues until the official release date, Longhorns Wire will continue to provide updates on this highly anticipated release.

Oregon Ducks make the cover of EA Sports College Football 25 deluxe edition

The EA Sports College Football 25 deluxe edition cover has an Oregon Ducks helmet featured prominently.

It’s been 11 long years, but on Friday morning, the cover for the deluxe edition of EA Sports’ College Football 25 was released, which gave football fans across the nation a jolt of energy as the release of the highly anticipated game continued to draw near.

While there has been a lot of speculation over which athletes or coaches, former or present, would be on the cover of the game, it’s been clear that there are going to be multiple different editions and iterations. On Friday, we saw the deluxe edition released, which features a collage of players and team helmets all walking onto a field together.

The trio of Michigan Wolverines RB Donovan Edwards, Texas Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers, and Colorado ATH Travis Hunter are in the center of the image, but you can also see the likes of Alabama QB Jalen Milroe, and Georgia QB Carson Beck.

An Oregon Duck helmet is also prominently featured.

There’s no way to tell which player the Oregon helmet belongs to, but the bright green and yellow certainly draw attention as you search throughout the hodge-podge of helmets in the image.

Other notable helmets are Ohio State, Notre Dame, Clemson, Florida, and Florida State.

Over the next few weeks, we will likely get more information about future covers, and could even see different editions released as well.
