Ohio State football star receives massive bump in ‘College Football 25’

Ohio State football star receives massive bump in College Football 25 #GoBucks

Ohio State football will be kicking off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Noon on Saturday and will hope to show off some defensive improvement after a disappointing loss to the Oregon Ducks. On the virtual gridiron, however, we don’t need to wait until Saturday to see improvements as the latest update for EA Sports’ “College Football 25” gave a large ratings boost to one Buckeye superstar.

Jeremiah Smith has been setting the college world on fire and EA Sports’ has apparently noticed as he is now rated at 90 overall, which is an increase of six total points. Few would argue against this bump because the freshman phenom receiver has already tallied 32 receptions for 553 yards and seven touchdowns.

Offensive tackle, Josh Simmons, also received a ratings boost of five to make his new overall 90. Edge rusher, Jack Sawyer  and interior offensive lineman, Donovan Jackson, received moderate bumps increasing their ratings by one. Sawyer is now a 90 overall and Jackson sits at 92.

LSU player ratings updated in EA Sports’ College Football 25

Here’s how Tigers players saw their ratings change in the latest roster update.

We’ve all been busy for the last few months building our dynasties and winning championships at underperforming programs in EA Sports’ College Football 25. But now, for the first time since the game’s release, we’ve seen an update to player ratings based on their real-life performances.

LSU was no exception, with quite a few players seeing bumps in their ratings — though some, such as safety [autotag]Jordan Allen[/autotag], saw their ratings decrease. The biggest risers come among young players who are seeing action as freshmen, such as cornerback [autotag]PJ Woodland[/autotag] (+5) and defensive lineman [autotag]Ahmad Breaux[/autotag] (+4).

Players like [autotag]Mason Taylor[/autotag], [autotag]Garrett Nussmeier[/autotag] and [autotag]Kyren Lacy[/autotag] all saw ratings boosts, as well. Here are all the players who saw their ratings change in the latest update to CFB 25.

Ratings Updates

  • WR Kyren Lacy – 88 (+1)
  • QB Garrett Nussmeier – 87 (+2)

LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier played College Football 25 to prepare for season-opener against USC

Garrett Nussmeier joked than he’s going to throw for five touchdowns and 600 yards against USC in College Football 25 before the game.

LSU will begin the season with the eyes of the nation up on it when it faces USC in the Sunday standalone game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Quarterback [autotag]Garrett Nussmeier[/autotag], who takes over for Heisman-winner [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag], is set to make just the second start of his career on Sunday after leading the Tigers to a victory in the ReliaQuest Bowl over Wisconsin to end last season.

How will Nussmeier prepare for what is the most important game of his career, to this point? By playing EA Sports’ College Football 25, of course.

“I might just beat USC by 60 in that game,” Nussmeier joked. “Throw five touchdowns, 600 yards, go to sleep and hope I do it in real life.”

LSU fans will certainly hope Nussmeier is that prolific in his debut for the 2024 season. While the Tigers lose a lot of production on the offensive side of the ball, there’s a lot of optimism surrounding the unit entering the season.

There’s also hope the defense will be improved after it struggled last season, though it’s certainly a major question mark.

But if Nussmeier can have a video game-esque performance in the season opener on Sunday night, LSU has to like its chances.

LSU takes over toughest place to play spot in College Football 25

Tiger Stadium is the No. 1 toughest place to play in college football, taking over the top spot from Texas A&M.

I think the No. 1 issue that most LSU fans had when College Football 25 came out was the fact that Tiger Stadium was not rated as the toughest place to play in the game.

That error has now been changed. As of the latest update, Tiger Stadium is the No. 1 toughest place to play in college football. Texas A&M was previously ranked No. 1 but they have now slid down to No. 11 on the toughest places to play list.

Along with that change, EA Sports updated the rosters [autotag]Harold Perkins Jr.[/autotag] is now wearing No. 7, and [autotag]Greg Penn III[/autotag] is now wearing No. 18. This was a good update from EA as we are now in Week 1 of the college football season.

The Tigers will be taking on the USC Trojans in Las Vegas on Sunday night as they look to win their first season-opening game since 2019. [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] has got the Tigers ready to go.

The Stadium Pulse memes on TikTok using the College Football 25 noise meter are perfect

The Stadium Pulse meme is perfect.

One of the more fun aspects of College Football 25 is the Stadium Pulse, in which the loud home crowd can absolutely affect the play of the opposing team.

But can’t that apply to real life? What situations are there when it feels like the Stadium Pulse meter is going off the charts and affecting you?

That’s what the newest meme that I’ve seen everywhere is doing: applying the Stadium Pulse meter to life. It is very funny and is all over X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok.

Here’s a roundup of the ones I’ve seen that are the best examples of it:

Here is why Cal Haladay isn’t featured in the College Football 25 video game

We now know why Cal Haladay isn’t playable in the College Football 25 video game

After Michigan State football’s first practice of fall camp, MSU linebacker Cal Haladay was asked why he wasn’t a playable player in the new College Football 25 game from EA Sports. The simple answer? He forgot to opt-in.

College players had to opt-in to grant permission for their name, image, and likeness to be used in the game, but Haladay apparently forgot to do it in time. He did say he plans to try and get added in the next update.

Patriots players reveal first play they’ll run in EA Sports’ College Football 25

Patriots players revealed what play they’ll run first in College Football 25

EA Sports’ “College Football 25” was officially released on Friday, marking 11 years since the franchise’s last release on consoles.

Everyone wants to get in on the action, including members of the New England Patriots. The Patriots’ social media team asked players to reveal the first play they plan on running when picking up the game for the first time.

The triple option, read option and four verticals were some of the most popular answers among players. There was even a vote for a tight end screen. It’s going to be a busy day for gamers everywhere, and you can bet Patriots players will get their fill as well.

I personally went with four verticals for my first play of the game.

No matter what play you run, we can all agree that it’s good to have college football back on consoles.
