The Alabama Crimson Tide got an injury update to a key member of their wide receiver room Monday afternoon, as redshirt freshman wideout Cole Adams was ruled out for the remainder of the 2024 season.
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer gave the update on Adams as part of his weekly press conference Monday afternoon, saying:
“He’ll be out for the year,” DeBoer said. “He’s had to deal with that last week, and unfortunately, because Cole’s a guy that pours everything into it, and had an injury earlier in the season. Honestly, at the time, probably thought that was going to be something more significant as far as the time frame with the first one. Just seeing the effort he put in to that first injury, you really found out a lot about who he was as a person and player, and just the toughness he had. Unfortunately, he had another injury here now, a lower body injury, and he’ll be done with the season this year.”
Adams, who suffered the injury during the Missouri game prior to the bye week, had appeared in seven games so far this season for Alabama.
Over that span, Adams had six receptions for 94 yards, while also making an impact on special teams where he had 11 punt returns for 58 yards, as well as one kick return for 15 yards.
