They’re also 29th with a 1.48 WHIP. Cleveland’s offense should be able to post plenty of runs like it did in Monday’s opener.

Over/Under

The OVER 9.5 (-107) is worth playing, as again, Kansas City has struggled in the pitching department. But it’s not a slam-dunk play, as the Royals have also struggled plating runs. Still, the Guardians have averaged 11.3 runs per game in the past three meetings with the Royals.

If you’re not feeling the GUARDIANS +1.5 (-140) straight up, and would like some insurance, the price isn’t out of line to bet the home side catching a run-and-a-half.

Cleveland won in Plesac’s most-recent start at home against the Chicago White Sox April 21, cashing as underdogs with a similar number in a 6-3 win. Look for more of the same here.

Over/Under

The OVER 7.5 (-130) has cashed in three of the past four home games for the Guardians. And while the Padres hit the Under in Sunday’s series finale in Pittsburgh, the Over is 6-1 across the past seven overall for San Diego.

LEAN to the GUARDIANS (-140) mostly because Bieber is on the mound, but this is a little pricey considering the White Sox (+115) are one of the best teams in the American League.

However, Chicago has lost five straight games as road underdogs with Keuchel on the bump. In Keuchel’s only start last season in Progressive Field, the Guardians had a 50% hard-hit rate but just a. .222 BABIP.

If you can find a price for Cleveland’s first 5-inning ML then I’d take that since Bieber is one of the best starters in baseball and Keuchel is a middle-of-the-rotation guy.

Run line/Against the spread

LEAN to the GUARDIANS -1.5 (+145) because their lineup should rough up Keuchel and Cleveland’s bullpen is good enough to hold any lead Bieber turns over to them.

Furthermore, the Guardians are 48-32 RL in division games since the beginning of last season while the White Sox are just 37-42 RL versus divisional foes and 12-15 RL as road underdogs.

My hesitation with Cleveland’s RL is Chicago has a MLB top-5 lineup and bullpen and I’d prefer the Over as my favorite play in the White Sox-Guardians.

Over/Under

BET the OVER 7.5 (-122) for 1 unit because the Guardians are 5-1 O/U in Bieber’s last 6 starts versus teams with a winning record and there’s some logic to fading the market betting the Under with Bieber is on the mound.

Also, 7 or more runs have been scored in 7 of Keuchel’s last 9 starts dating back to last year.

Lastly, Bieber and Keuchel’s ERAs are higher when starting with 6 or more rest days than any other rest split, Bieber actually has a worse home ERA whereas Keuchel pitches worse on the road throughout his career.

The OVER 7.5 (-122) is my favorite wager in this game.

GUARDIANS -1.5 (+145) are worth playing very lightly on the run line. Bieber had a tremendous hold on the White Sox last season, racking up three of his seven victories against the Pale Hose. The offense has struggled a bit lately after flying high in Kansas City and Cincinnati, so be careful.

Over/Under

The UNDER 7.5 (-107) might be the best play on the board here.

The Under is 5-1 in the past six games for the ChiSox against a right-handed starting pitcher, while going 7-2-1 in the past 10 as an underdog going back to last season. The Under is also 11-5-1 in the past 17 road games for Chicago.

While the Over is 5-2 in the past seven for Cleveland, the Under is 5-2 in the past seven at Progressive Field, including 2-1 this season. Cleveland’s offense scratched out just 4 total runs in the three-game sweep at the hands of San Francisco.

SPRINKLE on the GUARDIANS (+125), if at all, because I see more value in Cleveland’s RL, which is going for a relatively cheap price.

The Guardians have the hottest bats in baseball through the first week, Friday is their home opener and Progressive Field is a hitter-friendly ballpark. Also, Cleveland’s lineup is familiar with Rodon who was a divisional foe and played for the Chicago White Sox from 2015-21.

This Giants (-155) lineup has yet to face Plesac, who I expect to be one of the best middle-of-the-rotation starters in MLB. Cleveland’s organization is a pitching factory and the rotation alone can put the Guardians in playoff contention.

However, San Francisco is somehow underrated coming into this year despite winning the NL West last season and I prefer Cleveland’s RL.

Run line/Against the spread

Definitely BET the GUARDIANS +1.5 (-135) instead of or heavier than their ML because Cleveland should beat the Giants -1.5 (+110) outright. but the RL is just too cheap to pass up.

Furthermore, there’s reverse line movement in Cleveland’s direction as nearly two-thirds of the money is on San Francisco but the line has moved slightly towards the Guardians. This suspicious line movement tells us the oddsmakers are trying to entice more pro-Giants action.

A Cleveland ML bet should cash but my preferred play is the GUARDIANS +1.5 (-135).

Over/Under

LEAN to the UNDER 7.5 (+100)

This is a sharp total and there are two quality starters on the mound. Plesac is due for a breakout season and Rodon was an AL Cy Young contender last season and his pitching peripherals versus this Cleveland lineup are solid.

But Cleveland’s lineup is hot and powered by Guardians 3B Jose Rameriz, who was recently given a hefty contract extension and is dialed in at the plate.
