Wisconsin offers top offensive tackle in class of 2027

Wisconsin offers top offensive tackle in class of 2027

Wisconsin football extended an offer to top-ranked class of 2027 offensive tackle Jake Hildebrand on Friday.

As a sophomore, Hildebrand is already considered a five-star recruit via 247Sports’ composite ranking. The outlet also pegs the Arizona native as the No. 24 overall recruit, No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 1 player from Arizona for the class of 2027.

On3, meanwhile, has Hildebrand as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the nation for his cohort.

The 6-foot-6, 285-pound recruit has already received a bevy of offers from some of the most prestigious programs in the nation. As of Nov. 8, that list includes Oregon, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa State and Washington.

That list will likely balloon as Hildebrand progresses through the rest of his high school tenure.

On3’s recruiting prediction machine has Arizona State and Arizona as the most likely destinations for Hildebrand, but he has ample time to receive more offers and make his collegiate decision.

Wisconsin’s storied history in producing NFL-ready offensive linemen will certainly play a role in Hildebrand’s recruitment. UW’s interest at the stage of the process could help establish some ties as the sophomore continues to hone in on his craft at tackle.

UNC football Class of 2027 RB recruit praises Tar Heels during recent visit

Was a weekend visit enough for UNC to land its first Class of 2027 football commitment?

After largely struggling offensively for the first three quarters of last weekend’s game against NC Central, the North Carolina Tar Heels broke away from the Eagles for a 45-10 victory.

UNC’s defense held NCCU to just 167 yards, an impressive figure after the Eagles marched 75 yards on 12 plays, to score on their opening drive. Omarion Hampton ran all over the NC Central defense, recording his second-career 200-yard game, while Jacolby Criswell started most of the game at quarterback for North Carolina.

On the sidelines, but not in the game, there was another important player taking in the action.

That young player was Amir Brown, the Class of 2027 running back from Rolesville (NC) High School who already has an offer from the Tar Heels.

Brown previously received an offer from UNC in June after camp. He was thoroughly impressed, though, with his first gameday experience last weekend.

“I would say it was an amazing experience,” Brown told TarHeelIllustrated’s Lee Wardlaw. “We checked in, and then we ate. We were relaxing in the lounge room until the pregame (warmups) started. Then, we headed to the field to take everything in. “Their consistency (stands out). I’m all about genuine, pure relationships and transparency. Even though I’m younger, when I see them at games or on campus, it is always sincere.”

North Carolina has already extended 16 offers to the Class of 2027. Did it just land its first 2027 commitment by impressing Brown?

Illinois top class of 2027 offensive lineman to make visit to Wisconsin this fall

Illinois’ top class of 2027 offensive lineman to make visit to Wisconsin this fall

Top-ranked class of 2027 offensive lineman Cameron Wagner announced plans to visit Madison on Sept. 7 via X on Thursday.

Wagner, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound prospect, will make his way to Wisconsin the weekend UW plays South Dakota on the gridiron. A.J. Blazek, UW’s esteemed offensive line coach, appears to have spearheaded the recruitment effort.

247Sports currently ranks Wagner as the No. 67 overall recruit in the class of 2027, the No. 7 offensive tackle and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Illinois. With several years of high school football remaining before he commits, his four-star rating could certainly continue to rise.

The St. Joseph-Ogden High School product currently holds three offers from Illinois, Louisville and Miami (Ohio). Like his rating, that number will expand throughout his high school football career.

247Sports also outlines Wagner’s attendance at Michigan, Tennessee and Illinois football camps this summer.

While the 2027 recruiting class is not much of a priority this summer, Fickell’s crew is putting its name in Wagner’s collegiate hat before countless other suitors decide to do the same.

Penn State extends offer to Class of 2027 QB Peter Bourque

Penn State is one of the schools with an early offer in for Class of 2027 QB Peter Bourque.

Penn State is in the thick of trying to put together the final touches on its Class of 2025 and is working on getting a jump on its Class of 2026. However, the work is already starting in the Class of 2027, and a potential quarterback for the recruiting class has now received a scholarship offer.

Penn State head coach James Franklin has extended an offer to Class of 2027 quarterback Peter Bourque, from Massachusetts, following a meeting during a mid-summer recruiting event on campus. The Tabor Academy recruiting target already has started to pull in a number of scholarship offers, including from another Big Ten program, Maryland. Syracuse and Kentucky are two other FBS programs with offers for Bourque.

Penn State is the early favorite in the recruiting process for Bourque according to to the On3 recruiting prediction machine. On3 currently calculates a 61.1% chance in favor of Penn State this far out in the recruiting process for the Class of 2027 recruiting target.

Bourque does not currently have any recruiting rankings from the recruiting outlets just yet, although that will likely change as we get closer to the Class of 2027 recruiting cycle to hitting full swing.

Wisconsin football offers promising class of 2027 athlete

Wisconsin football offers promising class of 2027 athlete

Wisconsin football extended an offer to fast-rising class of 2027 athlete George Lamons Jr. on Monday.

Lamons Jr. became the fifth 2027 athlete to pocket an offer from UW, joining Darryl Flemister (Detroit, MI), Brayton Feister (Akron, Ohio), Xavier Sabb (Glassboro, NJ) and Tory Pittman III (Omaha, NE).

Despite being a 2027 recruit, the 6-foot-4, 213-pounder has already earned a laundry list of offers. Of his 17 current college opportunities, the most notable include from Georgia, Miami (Florida), Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, UCF, and now Wisconsin.

Representing Brooks County High School in Quitman, Georgia, Lamons has taken snaps at wide receiver and outside linebacker. Given his age and stage in recruitment, the rising sophomore will have ample time to discover his true position on the gridiron.

Although 247sports has yet to release a crystal ball prediction for where the athlete will land, On3’s recruiting prediction machine projects Florida State to secure Lamons’ commitment at this point in his recruitment.

Class of 2027 running back ‘blessed’ to receive first offer from UNC football

Why is Amir Brown a special name in the UNC football team’s recruiting efforts?

Headlined by their recruitment of star quarterback Drake Maye ahead of the 2021 college football season, the North Carolina Tar Heels have shown plenty of prowess on the recruiting trail.

They can thank head coach Mack Brown for that. Despite UNC’s tendency to collapse late in the season, it’s not for a lack of talent on the roster.

North Carolina’s 2024 recruiting class is headlined by 4-star wide receiver Jordan Shipp, who has all the tools to make an impact from Day One. The Tar Heels’ 2025 group is anchored by commits from a pair of 4-star recruits, offensive tackle Alex Payne and edge rusher Austin Alexander, while UNC’s highest offer in the 2026 class is Faizon Brandon, the number one player in the country.

North Carolina is already dipping its toes into the Class of 2027. On Monday, July 1, Tar Heel Illustrated reported the Tar Heels offered Amir Brown, a local running back from Millbrook High School in Raleigh.

This wasn’t just any offer for Brown, but his first in the recruiting process. He was pretty stoked, as you can imagine.

“This offer from UNC is a true blessing, and it doesn’t even seem real yet,” Brown told THI’s Lee Wardlaw. “Especially (Carolina) being my first offer. I’m just trying to continue to work for more opportunities. I’m not satisfied!”

Brown delivered quite the introduction during his freshman season on varsity, carrying the football 85 times for 472 yards and a touchdown. He helped lead Millbrook to a 9-3 (4-1) record, which included a second-round appearance in the NCHSAA 4A State Playoffs.

As Brown gains more varsity experience, he’s only going to get stronger and better.

If UNC wants to find its running back of the future, once Omarion Hampton declares for the NFL Draft, it’d be wise to keep close tabs on Brown.

Wisconsin men’s basketball offers first class of 2027 athlete

Wisconsin men’s basketball offers first class of 2027 athlete

The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team offered Donovan Davis, a class of 2027 forward from Kaukauna, Wisconsin, on Thursday. The 6-foot-7, 200-pound athlete is the first player in the class of 2027 that Greg Gard’s staff has offered.

The Badgers extended the offer after Davis’ strong showing at the program’s recent high school camp.

Davis is still a long way from making any sort of college decision considering he just wrapped up his freshman year at Freedom High School. Wisconsin is the first school to offer him a scholarship, with many more likely to come.

When it comes to the Badgers incoming class of 2024, Wisconsin reeled in two three-star athletes, guard Daniel Freitag (Minneapolis, MN) and forward Jack Robison (Lakeville, MN). Freitag in particular could be set for a significant role this season after Chucky Hepburn transferred to Louisville after the 2023-2024 campaign.

Wisconsin football offers talented three-sport class of 2027 OT

Wisconsin football offers talented three-sport class of 2027 OT

Wisconsin football extended an offer to talented three-sport class of 2027 OT Cole Reiter on Wednesday.

Reiter became the first 2027 offensive tackle to earn an offer from UW, just a week after the Badgers became the first Division I program to extend an offer to 2027 iOL Tristan Dare.

Like Dare, Reiter has attended a handful of camps this spring and summer. Despite being a 2027 recruit, the 6-foot-6, 275-pounder has already earned offers from North Dakota State, Central Michigan and Wisconsin.

Representing Germantown High School in Germantown, Wisconsin, Reiter was a member of the junior varsity basketball and varsity track and field team as a freshman this past season.

With obvious versatility, Reiter’s in-state ties could play a substantial role in his recruitment.

Even though the 2027 recruiting cycle is still far away, Luke Fickell and his staff are getting ahead of what will likely be a competitive recruiting process.

The Badgers also extended an offer to class of 2027 linebacker Braylon Williams on June 2, another Texas product like Dare.

Rivals, meanwhile, currently ranks Fickell’s class of 2025 at No. 4 in the nation with 20 players committed.

Wisconsin football becomes first school to offer talented class of 2027 lineman

Wisconsin football becomes first school to offer talented class of 2027 iOL

Wisconsin football became the first Division I program to extend an offer to talented class of 2027 iOL Tristan Dare on Wednesday.

At 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, Dare has attended several camps this spring and summer. Texas A&M, SMU, Maryland, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Houston are among the programs to invite Dare to camps this year.

Wisconsin offensive coordinator Phil Longo seems to have made initial contact with Dare during his recruiting campaign, per the Texas native’s post on X.

Representing Southlake Carroll in Grapevine, Texas, Dare was featured at defensive end, tight end and right tackle. The rising sophomore logged 36 tackles, 21 solo tackles, four TFLs, three sacks and two forced fumbles during his freshman campaign.

Even with his primary responsibilities on the offensive line, the defensive output indicates a fair amount of athleticism. He was also named to the All-District Team for his contributions as a freshman.

Even though the 2027 recruiting cycle is still a ways away, Luke Fickell and his staff are getting ahead of what will likely be a competitive recruiting process.

The Badgers also extended an offer to class of 2027 linebacker Braylon Williams on June 2, another Texas product.

Luke Fickell’s class of 2025 on the other hand, currently ranks No. 13 in the nation with 17 players committed. Several linebackers, including three-star Cooper Catalano, three-star Brenden Anes and three-star Samuel Lateju, are set to represent UW beginning in 2025.

Former five-star recruit Emma Risch arrives at Notre Dame

The Irish are excited about this one.

Even with [autotag]Emma Risch[/autotag] having put pen to paper, [autotag]Niele Ivey[/autotag] and her staff surely still couldn’t believe it had happened. One of the country’s top recruits, Risch officially signed with Notre Dame in November. However, they can put all their disbelief away now. Risch is all moved into her home for the next few years, and the Irish’s Twitter account took full advantage in making a fuss about it:

Risch averaged 23.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists over 24 games in her final season at the high school level. When her signing was announced, Ivey said the following:

“Emma is one of the best shooters I’ve seen in a very long time. She has an incredible IQ, deep shooting range and elite vision. Her size and ability to score in all three levels separates her and will translate to college basketball immediately. I’m looking forward to the positive impact she will make on our team on and off the court. We can’t wait to welcome her to South Bend!”

Well, the welcome has happened, and it will be exciting to watch what she can do.
