4-star LB CJ Washington signs with Georgia

Washington can finally say he’s a Dawg after being committed for 1.5 years.

4-star linebacker C.J. Washington has signed to play with Georgia.

Washington ranks as the nation’s No. 129 overall player and as the No. 10 ranked linebacker according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

Washington committed to Georgia in July of 2020.

He hails from Cedartown, Georgia where he played for Cedartown High School, the same school that produced Nick Chubb, UGA’s second all-time leading rusher.

Washington was a three-sport athlete who also played basketball and competed in track and field in high school. He also played running back and multiple spots on defense at Cedartown.

4-star 2022 ATH C.J. Washington releases his top-3 schools

4-star class of 2022 ATH C.J. Washington announces his top-3 schools, including Georgia football.

C.J. Washington, the No. 9 athlete in the 2022 recruiting class according to 247Sports, has released his top three schools via Twitter.

Washington announced Georgia, LSU and Tennessee as his final three schools on his recruiting journey.

Washington plays defensive end at former Georgia running back Nick Chubb’s alma mater of Cedartown High School in Cedartown, GA.  He also wears Chubb’s #27 Cedartown jersey and is regarded as one of the top recruits in the state of Georgia for the 2022 class.

The Dawgs extended Washington an offer in December of 2019.

Washington is a pure athlete who’s skillset should translate perfectly in the SEC.  He stands at 6-foot-2, 220 lbs and shows some serious athletic ability for his size.

Georgia currently has one hard commit for the 2022 class in 5-star cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew.

We will continue to provide updates on Washington’s recruitment, as it is still early in the process for the rising junior.
