Michigan State football is the latest Big Ten program to show interest in one of the top tight end prospects in the 2024 class.

Four-star tight end Christian Bentancur of Woodstock, Ill. has received a scholarship offer from Michigan State. He announced the offer news via Twitter on Monday afternoon.

Bentancur is ranked as the No. 14 tight end and No. 235 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2024 class. He’s also ranked as the No. 5 player from Illinois.

Michigan State is the ninth school to extend Bentancur an offer, with the Spartans joining a host of Big Ten schools. Iowa, Michigan, Penn State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Iowa State and Washington have also offered Bentancur.

2024 ATH Preston Ries earns second offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes

Class of 2024 in-state athlete Preston Ries out of Monticello High School picked up his second college offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes.

In-state class of 2024 product [autotag]Preston Ries[/autotag] picked up his second college offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes. The 6-foot-2, 205 pound athlete is from Monticello High School in Iowa.

After the offer from Iowa, Ries now holds offers from both Iowa and Iowa State. Nebraska and Wisconsin have shown interest as well but are yet to offer Ries.

Ries has played all over the gridiron for Monticello, including quarterback, running back and outside linebacker. According to 247Sports, Ries is a three-star recruit, the No. 74 athlete nationally and the fifth-best player from Iowa in the 2024 class. Rivals also ranks Ries as a three-star prospect.

The offer to Ries continues a recent flurry of offers in the 2024 class from the Hawkeye coaching staff. In addition to Ries, Iowa has offered athlete [autotag]Caleb Benning[/autotag] out of Westside High School in Omaha, Neb., athlete [autotag]Derek Weisskopf[/autotag] from Williamsburg High School in Iowa, tight end [autotag]Christian Bentancur[/autotag] out of Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Ill., running back [autotag]Jordan Marshall[/autotag] of Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and offensive lineman [autotag]Ian Moore[/autotag] from New Palestine High School in Indiana.

Iowa has commitments in the 2024 class from East Buchanan High School offensive lineman Cody Fox in Winthrop, Iowa, and Winfield-Mt. Union High School linebacker Cam Buffington in Winfield, Iowa.

Now that both Iowa and Iowa State have offered Ries, it’s likely his recruitment will pick up in earnest from other power-five programs. Ries reported that his offer came after a conversation with Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz and assistant defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Seth Wallace. It indicates that Iowa views Ries’ future as a linebacker at the next level.

2024 OL Ian Moore picks up Iowa Hawkeyes offer

Iowa’s latest offer in the 2024 class went out to offensive lineman Ian Moore from New Palestine High School in Indiana.

A pair of in-state products currently comprise Iowa’s 2024 class, offensive lineman Cody Fox out of East Buchanan High School in Winthrop and linebacker Cam Buffington from Winfield-Mt. Union High School in Winfield.

The Hawkeye coaching staff is looking to add to those two commitments and bring in another piece alongside Fox on the offensive line. Iowa offered offensive lineman Ian Moore out of New Palestine High School in Indiana.

Moore is highly-regarded by 247Sports. According to 247Sports, the 6-foot-5, 295 pound offensive lineman is a four-star prospect, the nation’s No. 5 interior offensive lineman and the second-best player from the state of Indiana. Meanwhile, Rivals lists Moore as a three-star recruit, the nation’s No. 16 offensive tackle and the No. 2 player from the Hoosier State.

Since the start of the new year, Moore has collected an impressive list of 12 offers. Toledo and West Virginia were the first to offer Moore on Jan. 19. In the weeks and months since, Moore has also picked up offers from Boston College, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota and Tennessee.

The offer to Moore is the latest in a series of spring offers to 2024 recruits. In the month of April alone, the Hawkeye coaching staff has offered athlete Caleb Benning, athlete Derek Weisskopf, tight end Christian Bentancur and running back Jordan Marshall.

With the commitments from Buffington and Fox, Iowa currently owns the top class in the Big Ten and the nation’s No. 4 class according to 247Sports and Rivals. Adding Moore to this class alongside Fox would position Iowa to have one of the country’s best offensive line hauls early on in the process. Iowa has been busy on the 2024 recruiting trail thus far this spring. In recent weeks, the Hawkeyes offered athlete Caleb Benning out of Westside High School in Omaha, Neb., and in-state athlete Derek Weisskopf from Williamsburg High School.

Now, Iowa has extended offers to 2024 tight end Christian Bentancur from Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Ill., and 2024 running back [autotag]Jordan Marshall[/autotag] out of Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Marshall is regarded as one of the premiere running backs in the 2024 cycle and one of the best players overall. According to 247Sports, Marshall is a four-star running back, the nation’s No. 187 player, the No. 9 running back and Ohio’s fourth-best player in the 2024 class.

On3 rates Marshall as a three-star running back, the nation’s No. 218 player overall, the No. 18 running back and Ohio’s No. 8 player. In the On3 consensus rankings, the 5-foot-11, 190 pound running back is regarded as the No. 269 player nationally, the No. 21 running back and the No. 9 player from the state of Ohio. Lastly, Rivals lists Marshall as a three-star prospect and the No. 10 player from the Buckeye State.

According to 247Sports, Iowa represents Marshall’s 11th offer and his seventh power-five offer. Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Vanderbilt comprise Marshall’s other power-five offers. The Illinois native has also been offered by Akron, Cincinnati, Miami (Ohio) and Toledo.

Iowa offered 2024 tight end Christian Bentancur out of Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Ill.

As spring practices roll on in Iowa City, the Hawkeye coaching staff continues to target talented playmakers across the 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes.

[autotag]Christian Bentancur[/autotag] earned an offer from Iowa on Thursday. The 6-foot-5, 240 pound tight end is from Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Ill. Bentancur recorded 53 receptions for 1,165 yards and 16 touchdowns during his sophomore season at Marian Central Catholic High School.

According to 247Sports, Bentancur is the nation’s No. 235 player in the 2024 class, the No. 14 tight end and the fifth-best player from the state of Illinois. The offer from the Hawkeyes represents Bentancur’s seventh offer and seventh power-five offer.

In addition to Iowa, Bentancur possesses offers from Iowa State, Michigan, Nebraska, Northwestern, Penn State and Washington according to 247Sports. Iowa State was first to offer Bentancur on March 30 and the other six programs have offered in the two weeks since.

The Hawkeyes currently have two commitments in their 2024 class. Those commitments are from four-star interior offensive lineman Cody Fox and three-star linebacker Cam Buffington. According to 247Sports, Fox is the nation’s No. 188 player overall in the 2024 class, the 10th-best interior offensive lineman and the top recruit from the state of Iowa. 247Sports rates Buffington as the country’s No. 18 linebacker and the No. 2 player from Iowa.

With just the two commitments, Iowa currently has the No. 4 class nationally in the 2024 cycle according to 247Sports and Rivals.
