Iowa Hawkeyes offer 2024 TE Carter Nelson out of Nebraska

Iowa found another big-bodied pass catcher it likes in the 2024 class, offering tight end Carter Nelson of Ainsworth High School.

Iowa identified another big-bodied pass catcher it would like to add to its lineage of great tight ends. The Hawkeyes offered 6-foot-4, 205 pound tight end Carter Nelson out of Ainsworth High School in Nebraska.

According to On3, Nelson is a three-star recruit, the nation’s No. 22 tight end and the top player from the state of Nebraska in the 2024 class. Rivals also rates Nelson as a three-star prospect.

With the Iowa offer, Nelson now has scholarship offers from the Hawkeyes, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State and Nebraska. Nelson does have one Rivals FutureCast in from HuskerOnline publisher Sean Callahan on May 11 to commit to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

According to Ainsworth High School’s MaxPreps stats, Nelson was the Bulldogs’ leading receiver last season. He hauled in 28 grabs for 511 receiving yards and eight touchdowns during his sophomore season. Nelson also averaged an impressive 18.3 yards per catch with a long of 64 yards. Nelson also added 34 tackles and five tackles for loss in eight games.

The Hawkeyes are already off to a great start in the 2024 class. Iowa has commitments from four in-state recruits. According to 247Sports, that list includes four-star interior offensive lineman Cody Fox of East Buchanan High School, three-star linebacker Cam Buffington of Winfield-Mt. Union High School, three-star athlete Derek Weisskopf of Williamsburg High School and three-star athlete Preston Ries of Monticello High School.

Fox is rated as the nation’s No. 5 interior offensive lineman, Buffington is ranked as the No. 23 linebacker and Weisskopf and Ries are listed as the country’s No. 51 and No. 56 athletes, respectively.

Iowa Hawkeyes offer one of Ohio’s best, 2024 EDGE Elias Rudolph

Elias Rudolph could be the next great pass-rusher in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes offered the Ohio product last week.

Iowa is off to a hot start in its 2024 recruiting class. Now, the Hawkeyes have set their sights on one of the top recruits in Ohio.

Elias Rudolph received an offer from the University of Iowa. It is the 17th offer the 6-foot-4, 220 pound defensive end from Taft High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, has received.

Currently, Iowa is battling it out with fellow Big Ten rivals Michigan and Purdue for Rudolph’s commitment, both of which already offered a scholarship to the four-star recruit.

Cincinnati will look to keep Rudolph in his native city, while Miami (Ohio), Toledo, Kent State, and Bowling Green are all also looking to keep one of Ohio’s top-ten recruits in 2024 in state. It should be noted that while they haven’t offered a scholarship yet, Ohio State does have interest.

According to On3, Rudolph is a four-star edge rusher and lists him as the country’s No. 162 player overall. On3 rates Rudolph as the 14th-ranked edge rusher in the country and the eighth-best prospect in the Buckeye State.

247Sports also has Rudolph as a four-star recruit, and the No. 207 player nationally. He is their 16th-ranked edge rusher, but the sixth-best prospect in Ohio.

Lastly, Rivals also lists Rudolph as a four-star talent. Rivals regards Rudolph as the nation’s No. 241 player overall, the No. 13 weak side defensive end and the No. 3 player from Ohio.

Iowa already has four commitments in its 2024 recruiting class. Offensive lineman Cody Fox, linebacker Cam Buffington and athletes Derek Weisskopf and Preston Ries have committed to the Hawkeyes.

All of those commitments are in-state products and they represent four of the top five players from the state of Iowa according to 247Sports. The Hawkeyes are a program that sends defensive ends to the NFL. Both Anthony Nelson and Chauncey Golston were drafted in recent years, and Zach VanValkenburg found an NFL roster this offseason.

Iowa Hawkeyes offer Wisconsin’s top player, 2024 OL Donovan Harbour

Iowa continued its efforts in the offensive trenches, offering talented and versatile class of 2024 offensive lineman Donovan Harbour.

Iowa has really been getting busy in the 2024 recruiting cycle, sending out plenty of offers to talented prospects throughout this spring. Now, the Hawkeye coaching staff has zeroed in on the top player from the state of Wisconsin to beef up its offensive line.

Donovan Harbour nabbed an offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes. It’s the 12th offer that the 6-foot-5, 310 pound offensive lineman from Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, Wis., has received already.

In addition to Iowa, fellow Big Ten programs Michigan State, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin have all offered Harbour. He also has Power Five offers from Boston College, Iowa State, Oregon, Syracuse and Tennessee. Rounding out Harbour’s list of offers, Central Michigan and Cincinnati have offered as well.

According to On3, Harbour is a four-star interior offensive lineman, the nation’s No. 34 overall player, the No. 1 interior offensive lineman and the top player from Wisconsin.

247Sports also ranks Harbour as a four-star prospect and lists him as the country’s No. 86 player overall, the No. 4 interior offensive lineman and as the top player from Wisconsin.

In the 247Sports composite rankings, Harbour is regarded as the nation’s No. 244 player nationally, the No. 11 interior offensive lineman and the No. 2 player from Wisconsin. In the On3 consensus rankings, Harbour is ranked as the No. 309 player nationally, the No. 18 interior offensive lineman and the No. 3 player from Wisconsin.

Iowa already has four commitments in its 2024 recruiting class. Offensive lineman Cody Fox, linebacker Cam Buffington and athletes Derek Weisskopf and Preston Ries have committed to the Hawkeyes.

Iowa Hawkeyes offer 2024 DE Kamarion Franklin out of Mississippi

The Iowa Hawkeyes have offered 2024 defensive end Kamarion Franklin out of Lake Cormorant High School in Mississippi.

The Iowa Hawkeyes have offered defensive end Kamarion Franklin, a 2024 recruit coming from Lake Cormorant High School in Mississippi. Coming in at 6-foot-6 and 255 pounds, the defensive end is a consensus four-star recruit.

Franklin is a sophomore currently and boasts an impressive list of offers and accolades. He earned an invite to the Under Armour All-American and that’s likely just the start for the 2024 recruit.

Rivals lists Franklin as the No. 235 player nationally, the 4th-best player from Mississippi and the No. 21 overall defensive end nationally. On3 has Franklin boasting the top spot as the best recruit out of the state of Mississippi and the No. 2 defensive end in the country. They also have Franklin as the No. 10 class of 2024 prospect overall.

Per 247Sports composite rankings, Franklin is the No. 2 recruit out of Mississippi and the 12th-best defensive end in the country for the class of 2024. 247Sports places Franklin as the No. 118 recruit for his class.

Franklin has not committed yet, but his list of offers is extensive and includes quite a few teams from the Power Five conferences. To go along with the Hawkeyes, a few other headline offers are Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, LSU, Ole Miss and Texas to name a handful.

Iowa has been churning out productive defensive linemen such as AJ Epenesa, Chauncey Golston, and Daviyon Nixon over the last few years. All three of them are currently on NFL rosters and provide a pedigree to show recruits what they can become at Iowa. Franklin has the potential to join the list of Hawkeyes that have come to Iowa City and developed into next level talent.

Williams is a 5-foot-10, 195 pound running back out of Hannibal High School in Missouri. According to 247Sports, Williams is a four-star recruit. 247Sports regards Williams as the nation’s No. 219 player overall in the 2024 class, the No. 37 athlete and the sixth-best player from Missouri. In the 247Sports composite rankings, Williams is the No. 268 player nationally, the No. 38 athlete and the No. 7 player from Missouri. Meanwhile, Rivals rates Williams as a three-star running back.

Williams currently has seven college offers from Ball State, Boston College, California, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Oregon according to 247Sports. Oregon offered Williams back on Aug. 18, 2021. All of Williams’ other offers have come from March 25 on.

Williams boasts impressive burst out of the backfield, the ability to make defenders miss and a knack for big plays. He’s also sure-handed in the passing game and can improvise when a play breaks down.

Iowa offered 2024 athlete Emmett Mosley out of Santa Margarita Catholic High School in California.

Iowa stayed busy with its 2024 recruiting efforts over the weekend, offering athlete [autotag]Emmett Mosley[/autotag] out of Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.

The 6-foot, 175 pound athlete is ranked as a four-star recruit by 247Sports, Rivals and in the On3 consensus. 247Sports regards Mosley as the No. 120 player nationally in the 2024 cycle, the No. 19 athlete and the 12th-best player from California.

Meanwhile, Rivals ranks Mosley as the No. 154 player nationally, the No. 23 athlete and the No. 14 player from California. On3 rates Mosley as a three-star prospect, the No. 261 player nationally, the No. 19 athlete and as the Golden State’s 18th highest-rated recruit. In the On3 consensus, Mosley checks in as the country’s No. 187 player, the No. 12 athlete and the No. 14 player from California. According to 247Sports, Mosley also holds offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas and USC.

It continues a recent offers surge in the 2024 class. In the last three weeks, Iowa has offered athlete [autotag]Caleb Benning[/autotag] from Westside High School in Omaha, Neb., tight end [autotag]Christian Bentancur[/autotag] from Marian Central High School in Woodstock, Ill., running back [autotag]Jordan Marshall[/autotag] from Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, offensive lineman [autotag]Ian Moore[/autotag] from New Palestine High School in Indiana and athlete [autotag]Preston Ries[/autotag] from Monticello High School in Iowa.

The Hawkeyes also offered and subsequently earned a commitment from Derek Weisskopf of Williamsburg High School in Iowa. Adding the commitment from Weisskopf means that the Hawkeyes now have commitments from the top three players from Iowa in the 2024 class. Iowa also has commitments from offensive lineman [autotag]Cody Fox[/autotag] and linebacker [autotag]Cam Buffington[/autotag].

Mosley has played both wide receiver and in the defensive backfield for Santa Margarita. He’s the son of former Notre Dame football player Emmett Mosley. His mother, Cindy Mosley, played soccer at Notre Dame and won the Hermann Trophy. In-state 2024 ATH Derek Weisskopf commits to the Iowa Hawkeyes

Class of 2024 athlete Derek Weisskopf announced his commitment to Iowa, becoming the third in-state commit in the Hawkeyes’ class.

Iowa just might make the Hawkeye State a monopoly when it comes to high-profile targets in the 2024 class. After being offered recently on April 11, Williamsburg High School product Derek Weisskopf didn’t wait long to make his college decision.

The 6-foot-3, 200 pound athlete announced his commitment to Iowa. In the process, Weisskopf became the third in-state player to pledge to the Hawkeyes. Iowa also has commitments from East Buchanan High School offensive lineman Cody Fox and Winfield-Mt. Union High School linebacker Cam Buffington.

Weisskopf is rated as a three-star athlete on both 247Sports and Rivals. According to 247Sports, Weisskopf is the nation’s No. 51 athlete and the No. 3 player from the state of Iowa. With Weisskopf’s commitment, the Hawkeyes now have commitments from each of the top three players from the state of Iowa according to 247Sports.

247Sports rates Fox as a four-star player, the country’s No. 188 recruit overall, the No. 10 interior offensive lineman and the top player in the 2024 class from the state of Iowa. Meanwhile, Buffington is regarded as a three-star talent, the No. 18 linebacker and the second-best player from Iowa.

The Hawkeyes have also offered 247Sports’ next two highest-rated players from Iowa. Bondurant-Farrar athlete Titus Cram is a three-star prospect, the No. 4 player from Iowa and was offered by the Hawks on Sept. 18, 2021. Monticello High School athlete Preston Ries also recently picked up an Iowa offer and he’s listed as the No. 5 player from the Hawkeye state according to 247Sports.

Weisskopf is both a football and basketball star at Williamsburg High School. He’s played both offense and defense on the gridiron, too, something Hawkeye Report editor Blair Sanderson touched on after Weisskopf’s commitment.

Last fall as a sophomore, Weisskopf finished the season with 80 tackles and three interceptions on defense and 23 catches for 372 yards and five touchdowns on offense for Williamsburg.

A multisport athlete, he also led Williamsburg on the basketball court this past winter, averaging 15.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Currently in track season, Weisskopf ranks No. 1 in the state with a 6-foot-9 high jump and will compete at the Drake Relays later this month. – Sanderson, Hawkeye Report.

Class of 2024 in-state athlete Preston Ries out of Monticello High School picked up his second college offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes.

After the offer from Iowa, Ries now holds offers from both Iowa and Iowa State. Nebraska and Wisconsin have shown interest as well but are yet to offer Ries.

Ries has played all over the gridiron for Monticello, including quarterback, running back and outside linebacker. According to 247Sports, Ries is a three-star recruit, the No. 74 athlete nationally and the fifth-best player from Iowa in the 2024 class. Rivals also ranks Ries as a three-star prospect.

The offer to Ries continues a recent flurry of offers in the 2024 class from the Hawkeye coaching staff. Now that both Iowa and Iowa State have offered Ries, it’s likely his recruitment will pick up in earnest from other power-five programs. Ries reported that his offer came after a conversation with Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz and assistant defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Seth Wallace. It indicates that Iowa views Ries’ future as a linebacker at the next level.

2024 OL Ian Moore picks up Iowa Hawkeyes offer

Iowa’s latest offer in the 2024 class went out to offensive lineman Ian Moore from New Palestine High School in Indiana.

A pair of in-state products currently comprise Iowa’s 2024 class, offensive lineman Cody Fox out of East Buchanan High School in Winthrop and linebacker Cam Buffington from Winfield-Mt. Union High School in Winfield.

The Hawkeye coaching staff is looking to add to those two commitments and bring in another piece alongside Fox on the offensive line. Iowa offered offensive lineman Ian Moore out of New Palestine High School in Indiana.

Moore is highly-regarded by 247Sports. According to 247Sports, the 6-foot-5, 295 pound offensive lineman is a four-star prospect, the nation’s No. 5 interior offensive lineman and the second-best player from the state of Indiana. Meanwhile, Rivals lists Moore as a three-star recruit, the nation’s No. 16 offensive tackle and the No. 2 player from the Hoosier State.

Since the start of the new year, Moore has collected an impressive list of 12 offers. Toledo and West Virginia were the first to offer Moore on Jan. 19. In the weeks and months since, Moore has also picked up offers from Boston College, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota and Tennessee.

The offer to Moore is the latest in a series of spring offers to 2024 recruits. In the month of April alone, the Hawkeye coaching staff has offered athlete Caleb Benning, athlete Derek Weisskopf, tight end Christian Bentancur and running back Jordan Marshall.

With the commitments from Buffington and Fox, Iowa currently owns the top class in the Big Ten and the nation’s No. 4 class according to 247Sports and Rivals. Adding Moore to this class alongside Fox would position Iowa to have one of the country’s best offensive line hauls early on in the process. Iowa offered talented class of 2024 running back Jordan Marshall out of Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Iowa has been busy on the 2024 recruiting trail thus far this spring. In recent weeks, the Hawkeyes offered athlete Caleb Benning out of Westside High School in Omaha, Neb., and in-state athlete Derek Weisskopf from Williamsburg High School.

Now, Iowa has extended offers to 2024 tight end Christian Bentancur from Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Ill., and 2024 running back [autotag]Jordan Marshall[/autotag] out of Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Marshall is regarded as one of the premiere running backs in the 2024 cycle and one of the best players overall. According to 247Sports, Marshall is a four-star running back, the nation’s No. 187 player, the No. 9 running back and Ohio’s fourth-best player in the 2024 class.

On3 rates Marshall as a three-star running back, the nation’s No. 218 player overall, the No. 18 running back and Ohio’s No. 8 player. In the On3 consensus rankings, the 5-foot-11, 190 pound running back is regarded as the No. 269 player nationally, the No. 21 running back and the No. 9 player from the state of Ohio. Lastly, Rivals lists Marshall as a three-star prospect and the No. 10 player from the Buckeye State.

According to 247Sports, Iowa represents Marshall’s 11th offer and his seventh power-five offer. Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Vanderbilt comprise Marshall’s other power-five offers. The Illinois native has also been offered by Akron, Cincinnati, Miami (Ohio) and Toledo.
