Chicago Bulls at Houston Rockets odds, picks and prediction

After a four-day break, the Houston Rockets (11-17) will be back in action Monday when they host the Chicago Bulls (13-16). The game will be at the Toyota Center in Houston and will tip off at 8 p.m. ET.

Below, we analyze the Bulls-Rockets NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Bulls at Rockets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bulls 117, Rockets 111

Money line (ML)

The Rockets haven’t won a game since Feb. 4, dropping each of their last seven. And now on Monday, they could be without Cousins and may still not have Oladipo back. Being at home and coming off a four-day break helps, but the Rockets look broken right now.

I like the BULLS (-120), who are 3-1 in their last four games, to win this one outright despite being slight underdogs. This is essentially a pick-em game.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Bulls opened as 1.5-point favorites, before flipping, and now they’re back at -1.5.

The Rockets are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games, which is slightly worse than Chicago’s 4-5-1 mark. But I like the BULLS to cover the spread at (-1.5, -120).

Over/Under (O/U)

Even with Oladipo and Cousins potentially out, the Over looks like a good bet tonight. The total has gone Over in four of the Bulls’ last six games and in five of the Rockets’ last six, so these teams have been scoring at a higher rate than the oddsmakers are expecting.

With the Over/Under set at 226.5, bet the OVER (-110) in this game tonight.

Chicago Bulls at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Chicago Bulls at Philadelphia 76ers NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Philadelphia 76ers (19-10) host the Chicago Bulls (12-15) Friday at the Wells Fargo Center for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Bulls-76ers odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Chicago has won back-to-back games over Central Division foes and three of its last four (3-1 ATS) entering Friday. The Bulls have been a tough out behind leading-scorer SG Zach LaVine and are 5-4 overall in February with the 10th-highest net rating thanks to an improvement on defense.

The Sixers snapped a three-game losing streak by holding on to beat the Houston Rockets 118-113 Wednesday to finish a four-game West Coast trip. All four of Philadelphia’s losses this month have come against winning Western Conference teams and the Sixers are 2-5-1 ATS in February.

The Bulls are 1-7 in their last eight games against the Sixers (3-5 ATS) with five of those losses being by double-digits.

Bulls at 76ers: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:40 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Bulls +275 (bet $100 to win $275) | 76ers -350 (bet $350 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Bulls +8.5 (-120) | 76ers -8.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 228.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Bulls at 76ers: Key injuries

Bulls

  • PF Lauri Markkanen (shoulder) out
  • SF Otto Porter (back) out

76ers

  • PG Ben Simmons (illness) probable
  • SG Shake Milton (ankle) probable

Bulls at 76ers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

76ers 123, Bulls 110

Money line (ML)

PASS because Philadelphia is the right side but laying -350 with the Sixers or any NBA regular-season favorite for that matter is a terrible long-term strategy.

PLAY: Join our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Slight lean on 76ERS -8.5 (+100) because they match up very well against the Bulls and are due for a bounce-back performance after struggling over their last four games.

Chicago runs a lot of pick-and-roll plays and Philadelphia has a top-10 pick-and-roll defense. Also, the Sixers have the second-highest FT/FGA rate while the Bulls are 25th in defensive FT/FGA rate.

However, Chicago has the third-highest cover percentage and fourth-best ATS margin in the Association. Plus in their two regular-season meetings last year, the Bulls split the four quarters with the difference in each game coming in one lopsided second-half quarter in favor of the Sixers.

Finally, the backdoor is WIDE OPEN in this game. Philadelphia took its foot off the gas against Houston Wednesday and the Sixers didn’t cover as 8-point favorites despite being up 26 points at the end of the first half.

Over/Under (O/U)

GIMME OVER 228.5 (-115) for 1.25 units.

The projected totals for last year’s Bulls-76ers games were 212.5 and 213.5. BetMGM opening this total in the upper 220s suggests the House thinks we are going to see some points here.

There are a couple of trends supporting the Over as well: Chicago has a 5-1 O/U record in its last six as a road ‘dog and Philadelphia has cashed four consecutive Overs.

Also, the Bulls are 29th in both turnover rate and opponent’s points off of turnovers per game and the Sixers are 28th in both of those categories.

Los Angeles Clippers at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Los Angeles Clippers at Chicago Bulls NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Los Angeles Clippers (18-8) visit the Chicago Bulls (10-14) Friday at United Center for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Clippers-Bulls NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Clippers at Bulls: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Clippers 116, Bulls 108

Money line (ML)

The CLIPPERS (-275) are a good bet on the money line despite less than ideal odds. The Bulls have lost six of their last nine games and struggle to stay competitive against top-notch teams.

Los Angeles, on the other hand, has won 12 of its last 16 games. Considering the talent differential, this game shouldn’t be all that close. Take the Clippers to win and win easily Friday night.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The CLIPPERS -6.5 (-115) are three-basket favorites. Los Angeles hasn’t covered the spread in four of its last five games, but it’s not like Chicago has been great in that area, either. The Bulls failed to cover the spread in six of their last nine games.

The Bulls will also be without several important players once again. They don’t have the depth or the defenders to stop the Clippers and this could easily be a double-digit victory for Los Angeles. Take the Clippers to win by at least 7 points.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 228.5 (-110) is the smart play here as the Clippers have a top-five scoring defense on the season. They are allowing just 108.0 points per game this season and they are the best defensive rebounding team in the NBA.

While the Bulls have a top-five scoring offense themselves, look for them to struggle against this long and versatile defense. Take the Under in Chicago as the Bulls could struggle to get to 110 or more points in this game.

New Orleans Pelicans at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s New Orleans Pelicans at Chicago Bulls NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The New Orleans Pelicans (11-12) visit the Chicago Bulls (9-14) Wednesday at United Center for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Pelicans-Bulls NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Pelicans at Bulls: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Pelicans 121, Bulls 110

Money line (ML)

The PELICANS (-150) looked awfully impressive in a 130-101 spanking of the Rockets in Tuesday’s outing, and they’re now 4-0 SU/ATS across the past four outings. Look for New Orleans to keep the good times rolling in Chi-Town.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The PELICANS -3.5 (-110) are in a strange spot, as they’re favored for the first time in five games. The last two times they have been a favorite they are 0-2 SU/ATS. However, they have been red-hot lately, going 4-0 ATS across the past four, and they’re 9-1 ATS in the past 10 trips to Chicago. There is a little bit of concern about tired legs, since they just played Tuesday and then traveled. But they should be able to win this one going away.

Over/Under (O/U)

The ever-so-slight lean is to the OVER 230.5 (-110), although the best bet is to probably just stay away. The Over is 15-3 in NOLA’s past 18 games overall and 4-1 in the past five on the road. In addition, the Over is 6-1 in their past seven when playing the second end of a back-to-back. The Under is 4-1 in Chicago’s past five overall, and 5-1 in the past six at home. However, the Over has hit in four of the past five in this series.

Chicago Bulls at Orlando Magic odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Chicago Bulls at Orlando Magic NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Chicago Bulls (8-13) travel to meet the Orlando Magic (9-14) Friday at Amway Center for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Bulls-Magic NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Bulls at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Magic 118, Bulls 114

Money line (ML)

The MAGIC (-105) are the play as short ‘dogs after topping the Bulls (-115) in the front end of the double dip Friday. Orlando entered Friday’s game on a four-game skid, but they suddenly look attractive after tripping up Chicago in the opener.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The MAGIC +1.5 (-115) won as an underdog on Friday, and the Bulls -1.5 (-105) slipped to 2-6 ATS in the past eight as a favorite, including 1-5 ATS in the past six as a favorite on the road. Neither of these teams have been very consistent lately, so you have to go with what you saw lately, and that’s an Orlando win.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 223.5 (-110) is the play for Saturday’s second end of the twin bill. We had a total of 242 points in Friday’s game, and we should see a slight decrease in scoring with both teams experiencing some tired legs after playing less than 24 hours prior. However, this won’t be confused with a defensive slog. The scoring will pick up in the second half, and we’ll still see the Over cash with about two minutes remaining in regulation.

Bulls at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bulls 111, Magic 103

Money line (ML)

The BULLS (-130) aren’t a bad play on the money line, although my preference would be to play the spread for less risk. The Bulls have won just once in the past five outings, but they have won two straight on the road. And the Magic (+105) are just too banged up to rely upon.

Against the spread (ATS)

The BULLS -2.5 (-110) are coming off a disappointing 107-103 loss on their home hardwood against the Knicks. Still, they’re a good play in O-Town, as the Magic +2.5 (-110) are a dismal 0-4 SU/ATS across the past four overall, with three of those games at home. Chicago is 6-1 ATS across the past seven on the road, while going 10-2 ATS in their past 12 playing on a day of rest.

Orlando is 1-5 ATS in the past six at home, and 5-19-2 ATS in the previous 26 as a home ‘dog.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 222.5 (-110) is the best play on the board here. The Under has cashed in four of the past five for Chicago, while hitting in 21 of the past 28 for the Bulls against losing sides. The Under has also hit in seven of the past 10 at home for Orlando. In addition, the Under is 19-7 in the past 26 meetings in Orlando between these two sides, while hitting in 20 of the past 26 overall.

Knicks at Bulls: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bulls 115, Knicks 110

Money line (ML)

The Bulls (-180) are a risky play at this price, as I’d rather just lay the points which is less costly. Chicago is coming off a 123-122 loss to the shorthanded Portland Trail Blazers Sunday. The Knicks are an equally risky proposition, as they are coming off a 14-point drubbing at home against the Los Angeles Clippers. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

The BULLS -4.5 (-110) aren’t catching a lot of points here, but I’d rather go lightly on the spread than try and figure out a straight-up winner between two mediocre squads. Chicago lost by one at home Saturday, but at least it’s rested a bit and hasn’t had to travel.

New York just played on its home floor Sunday afternoon, and then traveled to Chitown. Advantage Bulls.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 217.5 (-110) is the best play on the board in this game. Chicago enters on a 5-2 Over run in the past seven at home, and 7-3 in its past 10 games overall. The Over has also connected in seven of the previous 10 meetings between these teams on the west side of Chicago.

Trail Blazers at Bulls: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Trail Blazers 116, Bulls 113

Money line (ML)

The TRAIL BLAZERS (+120) are slight road underdogs. Portland has been in a bit of a slump lately, losing four of its last six games; however, Chicago has lost six of its last nine games, as well.

The Blazers have several big injuries and that is why they are underdogs in this game, but it’s just too difficult to bet against PG Damian Lillard when facing a bad team. Take Portland on the money line considering the value.

Against the spread (ATS)

If you believe this game could come down to the final possession, it would be wise to take the BLAZERS +2.5 (-110) on the spread to stay within 2 points in a loss. Portland has played in three straight one-score games and knows how to keep games close despite having one of the worst defenses in the NBA.

The Blazers should be able to win this game outright, but having the extra 2.5 points adds comfort to a bet. Take Portland to cover the spread.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 233.5 (-110) looks to be the smart play despite both defenses allowing over 115 points per game. Portland’s scoring has dropped off in a big way over the last two weeks as the Trail Blazers just don’t get a lot of help from the rest of the starting lineup outside of Lillard.

Expect both teams to reach 110 points, but to struggle to get anything more than that in this meeting.

Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls NBA betting odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Boston Celtics (9-6) visit the Windy City Monday for a 9 p.m. ET game with the Chicago Bulls (7-9) at United Center. Below, we analyze the Celtics-Bulls NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Boston has struggled without All-Star SF Jayson Tatum in the lineup and is just 2-3 straight up and against the spread in the five games he has missed. The Celtics have two blowout wins by 27 or more points to bracket a three-game losing skid. The worst of the losses was a 30-point smacking at the hands of the New York Knicks on homecourt.

The Bulls have been trending in the opposite direction recently and are 3-2 overall and ATS in their last five games. They almost snuck in the backdoor to cover as 9.5-point underdogs in a 101-90 loss at home against the Los Angeles Lakers Saturday.

Chicago had won three straight games and lost the previous four games by 4 or fewer points. The Bulls have been making bettors money lately, covering the spread in eight of their last 10 games.

That being said, the Celtics-Bulls’ recent history has been one-sided with Boston winning and covering in eight of the last 10 meetings with Chicago.

Celtics at Bulls: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Celtics 113, Bulls 111

Money line (ML)

PASS with a lean on the Bulls (+145) since I plan to take Chicago to cover the spread. The problem with betting the Bulls to win outright is how late we’d be to the party.

According to Pregame.com, this game opened with Chicago at +215 on the money line but the market is barreling into the Bulls. The market action is based mostly on how good of a bet the Bulls have been the past few weeks.

Against the spread (ATS)

In their five games without Tatum in the lineup, the Celtics weren’t much less efficient in terms of net rating. They’re ranked seventh for the season and were 11th in five games without Tatum, but Chicago has played increasingly well over that same time span.

The Bulls are right behind Boston in net rating over their last five games whereas they were 24th in net rating prior. Furthermore, Chicago is shooting the ball well and doing a great job on the boards since Jan. 15, ranking fourth in rebounding percentage and sixth in effective field-goal percentage).

While the return of Tatum will surely be the biggest story Monday, that information is already baked into the line. I lean BULLS +4.5 (-110) for a half-unit only because, like the money line market, we are getting here a little late.

Over/Under (O/U)

Chicago’s defense has been really good over its past five games: The Bulls are sixth in defensive rating and second in opponent’s 3-point percentage in that time span.

Also, perhaps we’re getting some value on the Under since Boston scored 141 points yesterday and Chicago has scored 117 or more points in five of its last six games.

GIMME UNDER 228.5 (-110) for a quarter-unit.

Lakers at Bulls: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Lakers 117, Bulls 113

Money line (ML)

The Lakers (-400) should be able to pick up the road win against Billy Donovan’s Bulls (+320), but it’s going to be a close shave. L.A. is particularly risky with A.D. and LeBron listed on the official injury report, although both are fully expected to play. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

The BULLS +8.5 (+100) have won and covered three in a row, each as an underdog, and they’re 8-1 ATS across the past nine games overall. That includes a narrow 117-115 loss in Los Angeles at 8.5-point underdogs just on Jan. 8. What has changed to make the Bulls a near double-digit ‘dog on their home floor, especially while they’re running hot?

Over/Under (O/U)

O/U 226.5 (-110) is going to be too close to call. The Bulls have hit the Over in six of the past seven games overall, so that would be the lean here. But the best call is to avoid and just focus on the spread. PASS.
