76ers at Bulls: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bulls 109, 76ers 104

Money line (ML)

The 76ers are only underdogs in this one because of the absences of Embiid and Simmons, their two most important players. Philadelphia is 1-5 without Embiid this season and 2-3 when Simmons doesn’t play.

I’ll take the BULLS (-160) to win outright at home, despite their unimpressive 7-11 home record.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

These teams have similar records against the spread this season, with the 76ers going 19-16-1 and the Bulls 20-14-0. Both teams were 4-2 ATS in their last six games before the break.

The Bulls will capitalize on the absences of Embiid and Simmons, winning this one 4 or more points. Take the BULLS -3.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The total has gone Over in six of the last 10 games for both teams. With no Embiid and Simmons, the 76ers will come in below their usual scoring total, though Philly’s defense could open things up for the Bulls as a result of the absences.

I like the UNDER 227.5 (-105) coming out of the All-Star break.

UPDATE: Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors postponed

Previewing Sunday’s Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

UPDATE: Sunday’s Chicago Bulls at Toronto Raptors game was postponed as Toronto won’t have the required minimum of eight players available due to COVID-19 contact tracing.

The Toronto Raptors (17-17) host the Chicago Bulls (15-17) at their 2020-21 season home of Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., Sunday for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Bulls-Raptors odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Raptors thumped the Houston Rockets 122-111 Friday to snap a mini two-game losing skid. They had previously won four straight, including two over the Milwaukee Bucks. PF Pascal Siakam has been ruled out until after the All-Star break due to COVID-19 protocols.

The Bulls had a three-game winning streak end with a 106-97 loss to the Phoenix Suns on home court Friday. Their previous three wins each came by a margin of at least 8 points.

The two Eastern Conference playoff hopefuls haven’t met in over a year. Toronto has won 12 straight against Chicago dating back to the 2016-17 season.

Bulls at Raptors: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:30 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Bulls +150 (bet $100 to win $150) | Raptors -185 (bet $185 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Bulls +4.5 (-115) | Raptors -4.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under: 222.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Bulls at Raptors: Key injuries

Bulls at Raptors: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bulls 109, Raptors 107

Money line (ML)

The BULLS (+150) are worth a bet as an underdog value play. The Raptors rely heavily on 3-pointers and will need to even more heavily with Siakam out of the lineup.

They’re fourth in the league in 3-point attempts per game (40.2) and sixth in success rate behind the arc (38.3%), but the Bulls hold opponents to just a 35.3% clip from 3-point range to rank sixth in 3-point defense. Offensively, the Bulls are ninth in 3-point percentage, and the Raps are just 18th in 3-point defense.

Chicago’s key will be ball control, as it ranks last in the NBA with 16.2 turnovers per game and Toronto is second while forcing 16.4 opponent turnovers per game. That area of the Raps’ game will also suffer without Siakam.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The BULLS +4.5 (-115) are a much better play on the spread, where they’ll need to stay within 4 points in a loss if unable to get the outright win.

Chicago attempts just 19.6 free throws per game to rank 28th in the Association so we need to hedge our money line bet out of fear of the Bulls slipping late in the game.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 222.5 (-105) with Chicago’s strong 3-point defense limiting the Raptors’ offensive output. Both teams also had a rest day Saturday and are without their main interior presence.

Phoenix Suns at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Phoenix Suns at Chicago Bulls NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Chicago Bulls (15-16) host the Phoenix Suns (20-11) Friday at United Center. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Suns-Bulls odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Phoenix lost 124-121 to the Charlotte Hornets as a 9-point home favorite Wednesday to snap a three-game win streak. The Suns are the second-hottest team in the league currently and are 10-3 straight up and against the spread in February while outscoring opponents 117.6-108.9 on average.

Chicago has won three straight and five of its last six games while going 5-1 ATS. Bulls’ leading scorer G Zach LaVine was just named to his first All-Star Game and is averaging 28.8 points on .523/.440/.866 shooting with 5.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

Suns at Bulls: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 2:35 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Suns -300 (bet $300 to win $100) | Bulls +220 (bet $100 to win $220)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Suns -6.5 (-110) | Bulls +6.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 226.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Suns at Bulls: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Suns 117, Bulls 114

Money line (ML)

lean BULLS (+220) for a tiny wager if at all because I like Chicago to cover the spread and think the Bulls are a live dog. LaVine has been unguardable lately and will cancel out Suns G Devin Booker‘s production.

Bulls C Wendell Carter Jr. should be able to hold his own against Suns C Deandre Ayton and I’ll take Chicago’s forwards over Phoenix’s. Also, both teams are deep with the Suns having the best bench plus/minus and with the Bulls right behind them.

(The score is an honest projection).

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

This game opened with Phoenix laying 5 points and the market has steamed the Suns up to the current price, which makes me feel better about the Bulls here. Generally, it’s best to be on the same side as the House when gambling and Suns-Bulls should be at the opening number.

Furthermore, while the Suns actually have a better ATS record than the Bulls (Phoenix is 20-11 ATS and Chicago is 19-12 ATS), they are only 4-5 ATS as a road favorite and the Bulls are 14-7 ATS as an underdog.

BET the BULLS +6.5 (-110) heavier or instead of the money line.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight lean on OVER 226.5 (-110) for a quarter-unit because I’m high on both offenses. Phoenix has been a top-10 defense this season but the Over cashed in eight of the Suns’ previous 10 games.

Chicago has a 7-3 O/U record as a home underdog and is sixth in effective field-goal percentage as a team.

Chicago Bulls at Houston Rockets odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Chicago Bulls at Houston Rockets NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

After a four-day break, the Houston Rockets (11-17) will be back in action Monday when they host the Chicago Bulls (13-16). The game will be at the Toyota Center in Houston and will tip off at 8 p.m. ET.

Below, we analyze the Bulls-Rockets NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Bulls at Rockets: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated 1:30 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Bulls -120 (bet $120 to win $100) | Rockets +100 (bet $100 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Bulls +1.5 (-110) | Rockets -1.5 (-110)

Bulls at Rockets: Key injuries

Bulls

Bulls at Rockets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bulls 117, Rockets 111

Money line (ML)

The Rockets haven’t won a game since Feb. 4, dropping each of their last seven. And now on Monday, they could be without Cousins and may still not have Oladipo back. Being at home and coming off a four-day break helps, but the Rockets look broken right now.

I like the BULLS (-120), who are 3-1 in their last four games, to win this one outright despite being slight underdogs. This is essentially a pick-em game.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Bulls opened as 1.5-point favorites, before flipping, and now they’re back at -1.5.

The Rockets are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games, which is slightly worse than Chicago’s 4-5-1 mark. But I like the BULLS to cover the spread at (-1.5, -120).

Over/Under (O/U)

Even with Oladipo and Cousins potentially out, the Over looks like a good bet tonight. The total has gone Over in four of the Bulls’ last six games and in five of the Rockets’ last six, so these teams have been scoring at a higher rate than the oddsmakers are expecting.

With the Over/Under set at 226.5, bet the OVER (-110) in this game tonight.

Chicago Bulls at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Chicago Bulls at Philadelphia 76ers NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Philadelphia 76ers (19-10) host the Chicago Bulls (12-15) Friday at the Wells Fargo Center for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Bulls-76ers odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Chicago has won back-to-back games over Central Division foes and three of its last four (3-1 ATS) entering Friday. The Bulls have been a tough out behind leading-scorer SG Zach LaVine and are 5-4 overall in February with the 10th-highest net rating thanks to an improvement on defense.

The Sixers snapped a three-game losing streak by holding on to beat the Houston Rockets 118-113 Wednesday to finish a four-game West Coast trip. All four of Philadelphia’s losses this month have come against winning Western Conference teams and the Sixers are 2-5-1 ATS in February.

The Bulls are 1-7 in their last eight games against the Sixers (3-5 ATS) with five of those losses being by double-digits.

Bulls at 76ers: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:40 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Bulls +275 (bet $100 to win $275) | 76ers -350 (bet $350 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Bulls +8.5 (-120) | 76ers -8.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 228.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Bulls at 76ers: Key injuries

Bulls

  • PF Lauri Markkanen (shoulder) out

Bulls at 76ers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

76ers 123, Bulls 110

Money line (ML)

PASS because Philadelphia is the right side but laying -350 with the Sixers or any NBA regular-season favorite for that matter is a terrible long-term strategy.

PLAY: Join our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Slight lean on 76ERS -8.5 (+100) because they match up very well against the Bulls and are due for a bounce-back performance after struggling over their last four games.

Chicago runs a lot of pick-and-roll plays and Philadelphia has a top-10 pick-and-roll defense. Also, the Sixers have the second-highest FT/FGA rate while the Bulls are 25th in defensive FT/FGA rate.

However, Chicago has the third-highest cover percentage and fourth-best ATS margin in the Association. Plus in their two regular-season meetings last year, the Bulls split the four quarters with the difference in each game coming in one lopsided second-half quarter in favor of the Sixers.

Finally, the backdoor is WIDE OPEN in this game. Philadelphia took its foot off the gas against Houston Wednesday and the Sixers didn’t cover as 8-point favorites despite being up 26 points at the end of the first half.

Over/Under (O/U)

GIMME OVER 228.5 (-115) for 1.25 units.

The projected totals for last year’s Bulls-76ers games were 212.5 and 213.5. BetMGM opening this total in the upper 220s suggests the House thinks we are going to see some points here.

There are a couple of trends supporting the Over as well: Chicago has a 5-1 O/U record in its last six as a road ‘dog and Philadelphia has cashed four consecutive Overs.

Also, the Bulls are 29th in both turnover rate and opponent’s points off of turnovers per game and the Sixers are 28th in both of those categories.

Los Angeles Clippers at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Los Angeles Clippers at Chicago Bulls NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Los Angeles Clippers (18-8) visit the Chicago Bulls (10-14) Friday at United Center for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Clippers-Bulls NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Clippers at Bulls: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Clippers 116, Bulls 108

Money line (ML)

The CLIPPERS (-275) are a good bet on the money line despite less than ideal odds. The Bulls have lost six of their last nine games and struggle to stay competitive against top-notch teams.

Los Angeles, on the other hand, has won 12 of its last 16 games. Considering the talent differential, this game shouldn’t be all that close. Take the Clippers to win and win easily Friday night.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The CLIPPERS -6.5 (-115) are three-basket favorites. Los Angeles hasn’t covered the spread in four of its last five games, but it’s not like Chicago has been great in that area, either. The Bulls failed to cover the spread in six of their last nine games.

The Bulls will also be without several important players once again. They don’t have the depth or the defenders to stop the Clippers and this could easily be a double-digit victory for Los Angeles. Take the Clippers to win by at least 7 points.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 228.5 (-110) is the smart play here as the Clippers have a top-five scoring defense on the season. They are allowing just 108.0 points per game this season and they are the best defensive rebounding team in the NBA.

While the Bulls have a top-five scoring offense themselves, look for them to struggle against this long and versatile defense. Take the Under in Chicago as the Bulls could struggle to get to 110 or more points in this game.

Pelicans at Bulls: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Pelicans 121, Bulls 110

Money line (ML)

The PELICANS (-150) looked awfully impressive in a 130-101 spanking of the Rockets in Tuesday’s outing, and they’re now 4-0 SU/ATS across the past four outings. Look for New Orleans to keep the good times rolling in Chi-Town.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The PELICANS -3.5 (-110) are in a strange spot, as they’re favored for the first time in five games. The last two times they have been a favorite they are 0-2 SU/ATS. However, they have been red-hot lately, going 4-0 ATS across the past four, and they’re 9-1 ATS in the past 10 trips to Chicago. There is a little bit of concern about tired legs, since they just played Tuesday and then traveled. But they should be able to win this one going away.

Over/Under (O/U)

The ever-so-slight lean is to the OVER 230.5 (-110), although the best bet is to probably just stay away. The Over is 15-3 in NOLA’s past 18 games overall and 4-1 in the past five on the road. In addition, the Over is 6-1 in their past seven when playing the second end of a back-to-back. The Under is 4-1 in Chicago’s past five overall, and 5-1 in the past six at home. However, the Over has hit in four of the past five in this series.

Bulls at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Magic 118, Bulls 114

Money line (ML)

The MAGIC (-105) are the play as short ‘dogs after topping the Bulls (-115) in the front end of the double dip Friday. Orlando entered Friday’s game on a four-game skid, but they suddenly look attractive after tripping up Chicago in the opener.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The MAGIC +1.5 (-115) won as an underdog on Friday, and the Bulls -1.5 (-105) slipped to 2-6 ATS in the past eight as a favorite, including 1-5 ATS in the past six as a favorite on the road. Neither of these teams have been very consistent lately, so you have to go with what you saw lately, and that’s an Orlando win.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 223.5 (-110) is the play for Saturday’s second end of the twin bill. We had a total of 242 points in Friday’s game, and we should see a slight decrease in scoring with both teams experiencing some tired legs after playing less than 24 hours prior. However, this won’t be confused with a defensive slog. The scoring will pick up in the second half, and we’ll still see the Over cash with about two minutes remaining in regulation.

Bulls at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bulls 111, Magic 103

Money line (ML)

The BULLS (-130) aren’t a bad play on the money line, although my preference would be to play the spread for less risk. The Bulls have won just once in the past five outings, but they have won two straight on the road. And the Magic (+105) are just too banged up to rely upon.

Against the spread (ATS)

The BULLS -2.5 (-110) are coming off a disappointing 107-103 loss on their home hardwood against the Knicks. Still, they’re a good play in O-Town, as the Magic +2.5 (-110) are a dismal 0-4 SU/ATS across the past four overall, with three of those games at home. Chicago is 6-1 ATS across the past seven on the road, while going 10-2 ATS in their past 12 playing on a day of rest.

Orlando is 1-5 ATS in the past six at home, and 5-19-2 ATS in the previous 26 as a home ‘dog.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 222.5 (-110) is the best play on the board here. The Under has cashed in four of the past five for Chicago, while hitting in 21 of the past 28 for the Bulls against losing sides. The Under has also hit in seven of the past 10 at home for Orlando. In addition, the Under is 19-7 in the past 26 meetings in Orlando between these two sides, while hitting in 20 of the past 26 overall.

Knicks at Bulls: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Bulls 115, Knicks 110

Money line (ML)

The Bulls (-180) are a risky play at this price, as I’d rather just lay the points which is less costly. Chicago is coming off a 123-122 loss to the shorthanded Portland Trail Blazers Sunday. The Knicks are an equally risky proposition, as they are coming off a 14-point drubbing at home against the Los Angeles Clippers. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

The BULLS -4.5 (-110) aren’t catching a lot of points here, but I’d rather go lightly on the spread than try and figure out a straight-up winner between two mediocre squads. Chicago lost by one at home Saturday, but at least it’s rested a bit and hasn’t had to travel.

New York just played on its home floor Sunday afternoon, and then traveled to Chitown. Advantage Bulls.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 217.5 (-110) is the best play on the board in this game. Chicago enters on a 5-2 Over run in the past seven at home, and 7-3 in its past 10 games overall. The Over has also connected in seven of the previous 10 meetings between these teams on the west side of Chicago.
