Raiders vs Chargers final injury report: LT Kolton Miller, C Andre James OUT

LT Kolton Miller, C Andre James OUT for Raiders. WR Keenan Allen OUT for Chargers

It’s a short week for the Raiders and Chargers who meet Thursday night. That means it isn’t much time for injuries to heal. As such, both teams will be without a few starters and in danger of being without a few more.

The Raiders today officially ruled out left tackle Kolton Miller and center Andre James. In addition, Josh Jacobs was listed as questionable after missing the entire week with a quad injury.

Showing up on the injury report was Davante Adams with an illness.

Thayer Munford will start at left tackle for the Raiders, Dylan Parham will start at center and Jordan Meredith will start at left guard (replacing Parham).

The Chargers will be without WR Keenan Allen. They were already without Justin Herbert who was placed on injured reserve this week. So, replacement Easton Stick will now not have their best receiver on the field as he makes his first career start.

Ahead of their Week 15 matchup against the Raiders, the Chargers released their first practice report of the week.

Los Angeles did not practice Monday, which means the report is simply an estimation of a player’s participation if they held a practice.

Joshua Palmer (knee) would have been in line for his first full practice since having his 21-day practice window opened. Palmer will need to be activated from injured reserve in order to play.

Keenan Allen (heel), Justin Herbert (right finger) and Deane Leonard (ankle/heel) were estimated as non participants.

Gerald Everett (hip), Zion Johnson (ankle), Sebastian Joseph-Day (ankle), Amen Ogbongbemiga (hamstring), Otito Ogbonnia (knee), Donald Parham (shoulder) and Nick Williams (shoulder) were estimated as limited participants.

Raiders, Chargers Monday injury report: RB Josh Jacobs has quad injury on short week

Monday injury report: RB Josh Jacobs has quad injury on short week

It was revealed today that Josh Jacobs suffered a quad injury injury in the team’s loss Sunday to the Vikings. And if the Raiders hope to get their workhorse back without missing any time, this is not the week for that.

The Raiders are on a short turnaround this week with the Chargers coming to Vegas Thursday night.

The team had just a walk-thru today, but projected that they would be without Jacobs who left Sunday’s game early and headed for the locker room.

Alos projected to not practice today for the Raiders were DE Maxx Crosby, C Andre James, LT Kolton Miller, and LB Kana’i Mauga.

The Chargers also had just a walk-thru. They were projected to be without WR Keenan Allen, QB Justin Herbert, and DB Deane Leonard.

Chargers Week 11 injury report: Who practiced, who didn’t on Wednesday?

Keenan Allen was among the five non-participants.

The Chargers had their first practice in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Packers on Thursday.

Los Angeles had five non-participants: Keenan Allen (shoulder), Gerald Everett (back), Sebastian Joseph-Day (knee), Khalil Mack (rest) and Donald Parham (hip).

Brandon Staley said he’s hopeful Allen will play this week. He is dealing with the left shoulder issue that popped up in last weekend’s game against the Lions.

Staley considered Everett day to day with a back injury that he sustained in the first half against Detroit.

The statuses of Joseph-Day and Everett remain to be seen.

JT Woods was a limited participant. The window for Woods to be activated off of the NFI (non-football injury) list is open.

Chargers Week 10 injury report: Who practiced, who didn’t on Thursday?

The Chargers had a short injury report.

The Chargers had their first practice in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Lions on Thursday.

Edge defender Joey Bosa and quarterback Justin Herbert were the only players on the injury report.

Bosa did not practice due to an illness. Herbert was listed with his left finger injury and was a full participant.

For the Lions, defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike (hip) and guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai (back) were non-participants.

Chargers Week 9 injury report: Who practiced, who didn’t on Thursday?

Jalen Guyton was a full participant.

The Chargers had their first practice in preparation for Monday night’s game against the Jets on Thursday.

Wide receiver Joshua Palmer was the only non-participant. Palmer was out with the knee injury he sustained in Week 7 against the Chiefs and reaggravated this past weekend against the Bears.

Defensive lineman Morgan Fox and linebacker Eric Kendricks were limited participants with oblique and rib injuries, respectively.

Wide receiver Jalen Guyton (knee) and defensive tackle Otito Ogbonnia (knee) were full participants. They are in their third week of practice since their 21-day activation window was opened.

Chargers Thursday Week 8 injury report vs. Bears: WR Joshua Palmer a non-participant

Joshua Palmer was a non-participant for the second consecutive day.

The Chargers had their second practice before Sunday’s matchup with the Bears on Thursday.

Joshua Palmer (knee) was a non-participant for the second consecutive day. Palmer was the only player that did not practice.

Jalen Guyton and Otito Ogbonnia logged their first full practice since their season-ending injuries in 2022.

Los Angeles opened the 21-day practice window for them last week.

After missing practice on Wednesday, Gerald Everett (hip) was a limited participant.

Other limited participants were Alohi Gilman (heel) and Deane Leonard (hamstring), both of whom missed the last three games with their respective injuries.

Chargers TE Gerald Everett’s hip injury could prove costly

Gerald Everett is a key piece of the offense.

Gerald Everett initially was given a groin injury diagnosis in an official mid-game communication against the Chiefs on his status. Later on, head coach Brandon Staley revealed that Everett was actually dealing with a hip injury. On Wednesday’s practice report prior to the Sunday night matchup against the Bears, Everett was a non-participant with the aforementioned hip designation.

Not having Everett this week or for an extended period would prove costly from a blocking perspective for the Chargers. Tre’ McKitty and Stone Smartt rank 82nd and 84th, respectively, of 87 graded tight ends on Pro Football Focus. Donald Parham, traditionally a decent blocker, has also declined in performance this year as the 73rd-ranked tight end. It’s worth noting that he is specifically playing through his wrist injury recovery.

In Parham’s defense, he has been a big part of the Chargers’ red zone identity, as Kellen Moore has given him quality targets. Using his size and leverage in that area is huge for LA. But between the 20-yard lines, Everett is the team’s best receiving tight end in space. That’s in addition to being their best blocker.

McKitty was a healthy scratch last week against Kansas City. Asked about that as his media availability, Staley said the decision was more of a matchup-specific issue than anything regarding the former third-round draft pick. If Everett can’t go, McKitty would have to be active. It’s also possible that Nick Vannett could be activated off of the practice squad for the first time this season.

We’ll have to monitor Everett’s progress throughout the week to see if he can contribute for the Chargers on Sunday Night Football against Chicago.

Chargers Thursday Week 7 injury report vs. Chiefs: Jaylinn Hawkins carted off practice field

One day after being claimed, safety Jaylinn Hawkins was carted off the practice field.

The Chargers had their second practice before Sunday’s matchup with the Chiefs on Thursday.

One day after being claimed, safety Jaylinn Hawkins was carted off the practice field. Hawkins’ status is unknown, but he was listed with an illness on the injury report.

Los Angeles opened the 21-day activation window for both wide receiver Jalen Guyton (knee) and defensive tackle Otito Ogbonnia (knee). They were in individual drills and were listed as limited.

After being listed as a non-participant in the estimated injury report, safety Alohi Gilman (heel) practiced in a limited capacity.

Edge defender Joey Bosa (toe) and safety Derwin James (ankle) were also limited participants.

Cornerback Deane Leonard (hamstring) and linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga (groin) did not practice.

Chargers final injury report: 2 doubtful, 3 questionable for Week 6 vs. Cowboys

The Chargers released their final injury report ahead of the Week 6 game against the Cowboys.

The Chargers released their final injury report ahead of the Week 6 game against the Cowboys.

Austin Ekeler logged three full practices and will play for the first time since sustaining an ankle injury in the season opener against the Dolphins.

Justin Herbert (finger) is also off the injury report.

Alohi Gilman (heel) and Deane Leonard (hamstring) are doubtful.

With Gilman likely out, Los Angeles could resort to Dean Marlowe and Raheem Layne, who were the ones who got the start in place of Gilman and Derwin James in Week 4.

With Leonard sidelined, Essang Bassey will be the primary cornerback off the bench.

Joey Bosa (toe), Donald Parham (wrist) and Nick Williams (back) are questionable.
