Everything NFL draft fans need to know about Georgia linebacker Channing Tindall
The third member of Georgia’s dominant linebacker trio, Channing Tindall enters the 2022 NFL draft as one of the most intriguing prospects at his position.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Bulldogs’ dynamic defender:
The Cowboys brought back Leighton Vander Esch on a one-year deal. Could Tindall be his eventual successor? Tyler Browning (@DiabeticTyler) dives into the tape of yet another Georgia linebacker.
The reigning college football champions, are a draft factory right now. Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Channing Tindall is a legit prospect and the fact he isn’t one of their top-5 prospects is more a statement about them than him. Tindall was quite decorated coming out of high school as he ranked as the No. 5 OLB nationally, No. 103 overall prospect nationally and the No. 3 prospect in South Carolina. He was a consensus four-star prospect, and earned his way to the the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. At Georgia he moved to inside linebacker and it all came together and his last season of play.
In 2018 to 2020 he saw just 19 total solo tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. In 2021 he saw a jump in number to 35 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks. So does his increase in production project favorably on his pro potential? Does he fit with the Cowboys? Let’s dive into his film to find out
Our final seven-round NFL mock draft for the Broncos has arrived!
Draft day has finally arrived, which means it’s time for one final seven-round NFL mock draft for the Denver Broncos. This mock features a lot of changes from our previous version — be sure to check that one out as well!
Would you be happy with this draft class for the Broncos?
Here are some guys that Dolphins fans should keep an eye out for when their pick comes around.
The day has finally arrived, as, what’s the equivalent of Christmas morning to many football fans, the NFL draft kicks off Thursday night from Las Vegas, Nevada.
At the moment, prior to potential trades, all but eight teams are preparing for their first-round selection. However, the Miami Dolphins are one of three teams to not have a pick in the first two rounds. That’s because Dolphins general manager Chris Grier made a savvy trade to acquire wide receiver Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs last month.
Miami added the six-time Pro Bowler and sent both pick No. 29 and No. 50 to Kansas City. Miami also threw in a 2022 fourth-round pick as well as 2023 fourth-round and sixth-round picks to land Hill.
The last time Miami was without their two opening-round picks, was following the blockbuster Ricky Williams deal in 2002. So, while there’s a likely wait until the third round this year, Dolphins fans are wondering about the play from Grier. The choices are either to stay put at pick No. 102 or move around the board, something Grier has done in some form early in the process in the last three drafts.
Looking at inside linebackers, interior offensive linemen and running backs as main areas of need, Grier has selected very productive players in his Miami draft history since 2016. Sure, some may not be Dolphins currently, but, historically, Grier has had more hits than misses in terms of finding NFL-ready talent.
Dolphins fans have shown patience in many ways and the first 101 picks will be no different. The advice for today is simply a re-iteration of what Grier suggested to reporters last week – “watch Tyreek Hill highlights.”
It’s the first draft in which Miami doesn’t pick in the top-100, so in a group of prospects where there’s decent depth rather than top-end star power, there are gems waiting to be called by Grier and the Dolphins. These are some names in positions of need to keep an eye on as the draft moves towards Miami’s first pick.
The Broncos could land a quality LB on Day 2 of the NFL draft, if that’s their target.
The Denver Broncos appear poised to select a linebacker in the NFL draft this year, but Georgia’s Nakobe Dean and Utah’s Devin Lloyd (and even Dean’s teammate, Quay Walker) seem poised to go off the board well before the Broncos make their first pick at the bottom of the second round.
Despite those top three linebackers likely being unavailable, Denver should be able to add a quality LB on Day 2 of the draft — if they choose to. Here’s a quick look at five names to know as the draft approaches.
Touchdown Wire’s Doug Farrar reveals his most underrated prospects in the 2022 NFL draft class.
When we media yahoos talk about “sleepers” in any draft class, it’s true what NFL teams will tell you — it’s generally a case of the media simply catching up to what those teams have known about those prospects for months. Perception versus reality means that what we’re really talking about are prospects we’re just getting around to after the top-tier players at every position.
So, maybe it’s better to say for the purposes of this exercise that the prospects you see here are the ones whose tape stands out beyond the recognition they’ve gotten. With days to hours left until the 2022 draft, these players are the ones you may not have heard of, or have experienced in passing but haven’t watched, or have watched and wondered where they might be drafted.
Any of these guys going in the first round would be a longshot, but they each have remarkable attributes that show their professional potential, and could seal their NFL futures.
Draft Wire pegs an inside linebacker, offensive tackle and cornerback for Broncos in this three-round mock draft.
Mock draft season isn’t slowing down any time soon.
Draft Wire‘s latest three-round mock draft released last Friday. Initially, the Denver Broncos held the No. 9 overall pick in this week’s NFL draft. But when that pick is on the clock the team can simply turn on Russell Wilson highlights. The Seahawks hold the Broncos’ initial top two picks for the draft following the Wilson trade.
But thanks to the Von Miller trade, the Broncos still have a selection in the second round. In their latest mock, Draft Wire has the Broncos selecting Georgia LB Channing Tindall. Then, in the third round, the Broncos select Minnesota OT Daniel Faalele and Houston CB Macus Jones.
Tindall projects to eventually be a league-average starter, according to NFL.com. While his scouting report doesn’t highlight his pass-coverage skills, he doesn’t appear to be a liability in that aspect of his game.
The same goes for Faalele pertaining to eventually being a league-average starter. That’s what Day 2 picks generally are. He’d presumably immediately challenge Billy Turner at right tackle, though.
Jones, however, is a nice depth piece — if drafted.

The Houston Texans should look to use one of their day three picks on former Georgia linebacker Channing Tindall.
The Houston Texans have a myriad of needs they need to address with their top-100 picks that comprise the first two days of the 2022 NFL draft.
The Texans figure to be players to take an edge rusher, cornerback, receiver, and offensive lineman in any particular order through the first three rounds of the draft. However, the Texans still have selections at Nos. 107 and 108 in Round 4.
If Houston plans to use one of those picks, rather than flip them for more draft capital, there is a linebacker the club should take a look at that deep in the draft.
According to Michael Renner from Pro Football Focus, the ninth-best linebacker in the 2022 draft class is Georgia’s Channing Tindall, who is ranked as the 115th overall player on Renner’s big board.
Tindall is a true sideline-to-sideline linebacker. He can chase down the fastest of running backs. However, he’s still a work in progress in coverage and didn’t tally a single interception or pass breakup in his college career.
Tindall would have the same type of ability as former 2021 fifth-round linebacker Garret Wallow from TCU. The Texans could add another linebacker who is athletic enough to play some coverage in Lovie Smith’s Tampa 2 scheme.
The Texans showed on Monday that the team may be more inclined to maximize their picks to take players they believe can help the overall roster rather than add a collection of youngsters to the roster. If the team doesn’t trade down from the fourth round to add more capital and pick even deeper in the draft, Tindall would be the type of player who would be a good fit at that price in the draft.

Mock draft watch: ESPN’s alternating-pick projection loads Lions up on Georgia Bulldogs prospects
In the latest 3-round mock draft from ESPN, analysts Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay mix things up by using a different format. Kiper and McShay take turns making the picks based on their own takes on the draft board.
It’s a fun exercise that produces some more unpredictable results. For the Detroit Lions, it wound up creating a de facto Georgia Bulldogs reunion. Three of the five picks in the first three rounds hail from the national champs, including the Lions’ top pick.
At No. 2 overall, Kiper selects DE Travon Walker. McShay tabbed Michigan EDGE Aidan Hutchinson at No. 1, and that left Kiper grasping a bit,
I don’t have Walker ranked this high — he’s No. 10 on my Big Board — but he’s going to go in the top five picks because of his ceiling. If the Lions can’t get Hutchinson, they could get instant edge-rush help with Walker.
With the next two Detroit picks, at 32 and 34 overall, Kiper rolls with Cincinnati QB Desmond Ridder and Georgia safety Lewis Cine. Ridder at 32 has popped up a few times in recent mock drafts, so it’s clearly an idea that is out there. Cine is a very nice fit and good value for the Lions at No. 34.
The two third-round picks lean on the SEC, with Georgia LB Channing Tindall at No. 66 and Texas A&M RB Isaiah Spiller at 97. Tindall is a superb athlete and makes sense where the Lions drafted him. The same cannot be said–in either regard–on Spiller. Running back might be the lowest position of need on the entire Lions roster.

The Dolphins would be smart to add a linebacker in the draft.
With the NFL draft less than a month away, prospects are taking visits with the 32 teams, as they try to feel each other out.
According to his Instagram story, Georgia linebacker Channing Tindall is spending the day with the Miami Dolphins.
Tindall, 22, played four years at Georgia, recording 108 total tackles, 12 sacks and one forced fumble. He’s shown some versatility with the ability to play on the edge and in the box, but he might not be a perfect fit for an edge role at the professional level.
With most experts predicting Tindall to be in play around the third round, the Dolphins could be in position to use their first draft pick on him at No. 102.
