Watch Baylor vs. Kansas Live Online.

It may be early in Big 12 conference play, but Saturday’s matchup between the No. 4 Baylor Bears and No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks is as important a matchup as it gets this season. Both teams have combined to lose just three games so far this season and Baylor comes in with an 11-game winning streak. Whoever wins this game will have a major advantage in conference play the rest of the season.

Baylor barely remembers what it is like to face the feeling of defeat, last losing to Washington on Nov. 8, which marks its only loss so far this season. The Bears (12-1, 2-0) are coming off an impressive 57-52 win over No. 22 Texas Tech on Tuesday. The team was led by guard Davion Mitchell, who had a team-high 14 points. All eight players who played in the game scored at least one bucket. The Bears are 4-0 against ranked opponents this season.

The Jayhawks have picked themselves up after a tight 56-55 loss to No. 16 Villanova on Dec. 21. Since then, Kansas (12-2, 2-0) has won three straight games, including a 60-53 win over No. 17 West Virginia last Saturday at home. Kansas destroyed Iowa State 79-53 on Wednesday for its second conference win, outscoring the Cyclones by 20 points in the first half. Devon Dotson had a team-high 20 points, while Ochai Agbaji and David McCormack each scored 16 points. The Jayhawks are 3-2 against ranked opponents this season.

Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots(-4)

  • Date: Saturday, January 4th
  • Kickoff: 8:15 p.m. ET

New England is coming off a loss last week against Miami, where they could have clinched a first-round bye. Now they are playing in the Wild Card for the first time in ten years. While everyone is counting the Patriots out, we’ve all seen this before and Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, and company can always turn it on and show out in a game of this caliber.
The Pats will need to stop Derrick Henry and the running game to be effective in this game. After Tannehill took over the quarterback position he has brought life to the Tennessee offense and has scored on 71.4 percent of their red zone attempts, which is unheard of.

Prediction: Everybody is counting out the Patriots out in this game with a lot of uncertainty around the team moving forward. If they are unable to stop Henry and the Titans running game, it will be tough to stay in the game with the Titans offense. Take the under (45) and the points as the Titans (+4) will give the Patriots defense a struggle today as Derrick Henry puts at least 100 yards on his resume.

Wild-card round schedule and television guide

The Titans and Patriots play on Saturday night on CBS, while the Vikings and Saints play on Fox on Sunday.

Normally, this is where you’d come for all your information on what part of the country will see what game. Well, that’s only for the regular season. Now we enter the postseason where every game gets its own national television window. There is no competition — save for a hockey or basketball game here or there — and we’re all stuck with the matchups we are stuck with. Let’s get right to it, shall we?

Dottie Pepper donates money for school lunch debt in her hometown

Pepper paid off the school lunch debt of more than 50 students at Dorothy Nolan Elementary School in Wilton, New York.

Inspired by 49ers star cornerback Richard Sherman, Dottie Pepper decided to pay it forward in her hometown.

Pepper paid off the school lunch debt of more than 50 students at Dorothy Nolan Elementary School in Wilton, New York, according to a report in the Times-Union. “It’s debt that didn’t need to be sitting there, burdening people,” she told the newspaper.

Pepper and her sister, Jackie Diehl, attended the elementary school, which is near Saratoga Springs, according to the report. She declined to say how much she donated to the school.

“I just thought it’s been a really good year for my husband and I and if we can make it a little easier for families that didn’t have much on the holidays,” Pepper said. “It was just a good thing to do.”

The 17-time winner on the LPGA was recently promoted to lead on-course reporter by CBS.

Sherman donated $20,000 earlier this year to schools in Tacoma, Washington, for school lunch debt, according to reports. Last month Sherman donated another $7K for school lunch debt at a middle school in Santa Clara, California.

How to Watch Florida State vs. Arizona State, Hyundai Sun Bowl Live Stream, Schedule, TV Channel, Start Time

Watch Florida State vs. Arizona State Live Online.

After finishing the regular season on a high note that included an upset win against then-No. 6 Oregon, Arizona State will face Florida State in the Sun Bowl. The Seminoles are in a state of flux as they attempt to return to their winning ways after a tumultuous season. The teams have not met since a 52-44 Seminoles victory in 1984.

Many wondered if the Seminoles (6-6) would even qualify for a bowl game after a regular season that included losses to Louisiana Monroe, Miami (FL) and Florida. The Seminoles had trouble putting any winning streaks together, getting back-to-back wins just twice during the season. New head coach Mike Norvell will get a first hand look at what needs improvement and what his focus will be going forward for the program. Norvell was hired earlier this month from Memphis after guiding the Tigers to a 12-1 record and American Athletic Conference title. The Seminoles will be coached by interim coach Odell Haggins, who took over when Willie Taggart was fired in November.

Running back Cam Akers and cornerback Stanford Samuels have both declared for the NFL draft and have decided to skip the game. Akers finished with a career-best 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Samuels totaled eight interceptions in 37 games over three seasons.

If anyone can get his team pumped up for a bowl game, it is ASU head coach Herm Edwards. Known for his passion and intensity, Edwards is looking for his first postseason victory. The Sun Devils (7-5) are in a bowl game for the eighth time in nine seasons and have not had an eight-win season since going 10-3 in 2014.

The offense will look quite different from the regular season. Skill players Eno Benjamin and Brandon Aiyuk are choosing not to play in the game to prepare for the draft. Benjamin has rushed for over 1,000 yards this season, while Aiyuk totaled over 1,000 yards receiving. That puts freshman quarterback Jayden Daniels under an immense amount of pressure. He threw for 2,748 yards and 17 touchdowns with only two interceptions in 310 attempts. Daniels will still have a deep threat in Frank Darby, who had eight touchdowns and averaged 21.3 yards per reception.

Watch Jets vs. Bills Live Online.

The 2019 NFL regular season will conclude with a division rivalry game for the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills, as the two sides square-off at New Era Field. With the Jets (6-9) eliminated from playoff contention and the Bills (10-5) locked into the fifth seed in the AFC, these teams will both be looking to build momentum for their respective futures.

The Jets relied on their defense to get a 16-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in their last game. Adam Gase’s squad forced two crucial turnovers, both interceptions of Steelers quarterback Devlin Hodges, which proved to be the difference. The Jets and Steelers went into halftime tied at 10, but the Jets held Pittsburgh scoreless the rest of the way to propel themselves to victory.

Meanwhile, Buffalo saw its AFC East title hopes disappear for good last week when the team lost 24-17 to the New England Patriots. Josh Allen threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns, with 108 of those yards going to wide receiver Cole Beasley. However, Allen and the Bills came up just short on their final drive of the game, getting stopped near the goal line in the final two minutes. While there is no such thing as a good loss in the NFL, Buffalo did prove itself capable of competing with the Patriots and the AFC-leading Baltimore Ravens in recent weeks, which is a positive sign heading into the postseason.

SEC football: No longer with CBS, lands new contract with ESPN

We’ve been hearing all week about CBS walking away from the SEC after their contract ends in 2023.

We’ve been hearing all week about CBS walking away from the SEC after their contract ends in 2023, and what this means for SEC coverage, especially with College Football.

CBS’s current contract with the SEC is $55 million a year. But when their contract ends in 2023, CBS’ contract would drastically increase to $300 million a year.

The Birmingham Business Journal contacted CBS Sports which shared why they made the decision to step away from the SEC after their contract ends up. “We made a strong and responsible bid. While we‘ve had success with the SEC on CBS, we are instead choosing to aggressively focus on other important strategic priorities moving forward.”

As for ESPN, they seem to be in negotiations with the SEC with a contract that could be worth up to $330 million dollars per year.

This will be an interesting move, considering with CBS, the SEC was the primary focus of college football, but with ESPN, the SEC will be one of many conferences in which their games are broadcasted.

This will continue to be something to monitor as negotiations continue, but it seems to be a done deal with ESPN and the SEC.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the SEC’s coverage, and if it affects viewership.

Roll Tide Wire will keep you up to date with the very latest regarding this negotiation, and what it means for the SEC.

Golf Channel’s ‘Live From’ crew pays touching tribute to CBS-bound Frank Nobilo

Golf Channel’s ‘Golf Central Live From’ crew Rich Lerner and Brandel Chamblee paid a touching tribute to CBS-bound Frank Nobilo.

Golf Channel’s broadcast of the 2019 Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne showed not only an incredible week of golf, but some emotional moments as Tiger Woods and the United States fought back for an eighth consecutive victory.

The emotions continued on Sunday during a segment on ‘Golf Central Live From,’ where host Rich Lerner and analyst Brandel Chamblee paid touching tribute to Frank Nobilo on his last segment before joining CBS.

Lerner opened by giving the viewer some background on Nobilo’s career, noting how he was “a Sunday fixture at major championships” in the 1990’s before injuries took over the prime of his career.

[protected-iframe id=”60be623e9894afb0695a129809f00270-120918734-51402261″ info=”//vplayer.golfchannel.com/p/BxmELC/gc_embedplayer/select/media/9yrJCvXL8pWH” width=”620″ height=”382″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen=””]

“The first event I ever covered for Golf Channel was the 1997 Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, which Frank won,” said Lerner, who went on to note how Nobilo has become “one of the most respected voices in the sport.”

“Frank, 16 years I’ve been sitting next to you, I feel like I’ve argued more with you than my ex-wife, and I think I’m consoled by the fact that I don’t have to send you checks,” joked Chamblee, whose arguments and debates with Nobilo have produced compelling television over the years.

Chamblee added he’ll miss not only Nobilo’s boxing analogies, puns and long, unfunny jokes, but also his analysis and “unbelievable versatility” and ability to take the players’ perspective.

After taking a few seconds to collect his thoughts, Nobilo said it was a “touch of irony” that his last ‘Live From’ segment came at Royal Melbourne, where he was a member of the International squad’s lone Presidents Cup victory over the United States in 1998.

“From the Presidents Cup back in ’98, it was a band of brothers, I enjoyed that form a golfing point of view,” said Nobilo. “Brandel, Rich, I’ve had the utmost pleasure to sit alongside, argue, but more importantly enjoy the game just as much as you.”
