Titans claim Carson Green off waivers, cut Derwin Gray

The Titans made a pair of roster moves on Monday.

The Tennessee Titans have been awarded offensive lineman Carson Green off waivers, the team announced on Monday. To make room on the roster, the Titans released offensive lineman Derwin Gray.

Green, 23, is the latest former Houston Texan to make their way north to Nashville. The 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive lineman was released on Saturday.

He went undrafted out of Texas A&M in 2021 and signed with the Texans as a rookie free agent. Green was waived prior to the start of the season and added to the team’s practice squad.

At College Station, he played in 48 games, including 40 starts, all at the right tackle position. The Southlake, Texas native was credited for allowing just five sacks in his final three seasons on campus, per Pro Football Focus.

Green will have the opportunity to come in and compete for a backup spot on the Titans’ 53-man roster, or quite possibly a spot on the practice squad.

Gray, 27, was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft. He played in five games during the 2020 season, accounting for 25 snaps on offense and 11 on special teams.

In December 2020, the Jacksonville Jaguars claimed Gray off waivers, signing him a one-year exclusive-rights free agent deal in March 2021.

In August of that year, the Maryland product was waived and claimed by the Titans. Gray was released in September and re-signed to the practice squad in October.

Shortly after the Titans’ postseason loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, he was signed to a reserve/futures contract.

Texans waive Texas A&M OL Carson Green

The Houston Texans have waived offensive lineman Carson Green, who played college ball at Texas A&M.

The Houston Texans have waived Texas A&M offensive lineman Carson Green.

Houston re-signed Green on March 11. The former Southlake Carroll Dragon has been part of the Texans’ bottom part of the roster since they signed him as a priority free agent following the 2021 NFL draft.

Green played his high school ball for Southlake Carroll in north Texas. At Texas A&M, Green started 40 of his 48 games played for the Aggies as a tackle with most of those starts as a right tackle.

Green was signed after the 2021 NFL draft alongside fellow Aggie Ryan McCollum. The Texans have a former Texas A&M teammate of Green’s on the roster in first-round pick Kenyon Green.

Texans bring back former Texas A&M OL Carson Green

The Houston Texans are re-signing former Texas A&M offensive lineman Carson Green, who spent time on the practice squad in 2021.

The Houston Texans are going with a familiar commodity to fill out their roster.

According to Aaron Wilson from the Pro Football Network, the Texans are bringing back former Texas A&M offensive lineman Carson Green, who spent time on and off Houston’s practice squad last season.

At 6-6, 320 pounds, Green, who played high school ball for Southlake Carroll in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, was an intriguing tackle prospect. At Texas A&M, Green started in 40 of his 48 games active with most of those starts at right tackle.

Green was signed as a priority free agent following the 2021 NFL draft. Fellow Aggie and undrafted free agent Ryan McCollum signed with the Texans on the same day as Green.

Texans add DE Demone Harris to practice squad, cut OL Carson Green

The Houston Texans have signed defensive end Demone Harris to the practice squad, and released offensive tackle Carson Green to make room.

The Houston Texans have added a veteran defensive lineman to their practice squad.

Although the Texans are on their bye week for Week 10, the club is still evaluating their roster and has signed defensive end Demone Harris, who was previously with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2019-21. The Chiefs released Harris from their practice squad on Oct. 25.

Harris provided the Chiefs with seven combined tackles, two tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits through seven career games.

Kansas City made Harris one of their standard elevations from the practice squad in Weeks 5-6, and he didn’t get in the stat sheet despite seeing 17 defensive snaps total.

Harris was an undrafted free agent who caught on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, going between their practice squad and the active roster throughout 2018. In 2019, he was released in October and spent the next month on the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad.

To make room for Harris, the Texans released tackle Carson Green, an undrafted free agent from Texas A&M.

8 potential Day 3 offensive prospects for Cardinals

Day 3 is not the most looked forward to part of the draft, but it is important to team building.

Day 3 is not the most exciting part of the NFL draft, but it is important to teams, as there are many diamonds in the rough to find, along with potential starters and key backups.

Last year, the Arizona Cardinals drafted defensive linemen Rahsard Lawrence and Leki Fotu, linebacker Evan Weaver and running back Eno Benjamin

Who might be on their radar this week on Saturday for rounds 4-7?

Below are eight offensive players to know for the Cardinals who would fit well in their offense.

Jags recently met with Texas A&M OT Carson Green

The Jags will look to add competition on their offensive line, which could lead them to a late round selection like Carson Green.

While it appears they will roll with their starting five from last season, Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer said the team would look to add competition along their offensive line in last week’s pre-draft press conference. Some seem to think those statements eliminate the Jags from taking an offensive lineman in the top-3 rounds, which means the unit could be a focal point in Rounds 4-7.

One of the offensive linemen who could be on their radar is Texas A&M’s Carson Green, who Justin Melo of the Draft Network is reporting met with the Jags recently.

Green is a right tackle prospect with good size at 6-foot-6, 320 pounds. He also is a prospect who proved to have some solid athleticism during his pro day and registered a RAS of 8.29.

Green was invited to the Senior Bowl this offseason, however, he struggled a bit while there, according to Pro Football Network. Here is what they had to say about the young Aggie:

“Green comes in near the middle of the pack, along with his Texas A&M teammate. He wasn’t of detriment to his line, but he was still fairly inconsistent. On Thursday in particular, he struggled to strike with solid contact, and balance and block sustainment remained issues throughout the week. Green can move fairly well for his size, and he has solid upside with his physical makeup. That said, he didn’t quite put things together by the week’s end.”

Sounds like a perfect prospect to land as a developmental offensive lineman.

In terms of his projections, there are some mocks with Green being selected in the sixth and seventh rounds. The Jags’ latest selection is No. 251 and that might be the spot to take him if they don’t want to take their chances on acquiring him in undrafted free agency.

Colts met virtually with Texas A&M OT Carson Green

Colts met with a Day 3 OT prospect.

The Indianapolis Colts met virtually this offseason with former Texas A&M offensive tackle Carson Green, per Justin Melo of The Draft Network.

Green is projected to be a Day 3 pick but offers intriguing size and length for the Colts to consider with one of their final picks. He tested as a solid athlete at his pro day with Texas A&M, recording an 8.29 RAS.

This is a scouting report on Green from Dane Brugler of The Athletic: “A four-year starter at Texas A&M, Green was entrenched at right tackle in head coach Jimbo Fisher’s spread, pro-style scheme. He broke into the starting
lineup as a freshman and started 39 straight games to finish his career, taking home All-SEC honors as a senior. Green is coachable, smart and tenacious, blocking with the competitive edge that matches or exceeds his opponent. He has the lock-on strength to anchor with his hands but must keep his feet beneath him and improve his leverage to answer the power of NFL defenders. Overall, Green’s technique tends to break down vs. edge speed, but he has the physical hands, core strength and awareness to make an NFL roster. He projects as a backup guard or possible swing tackle.”

Green was a team captain in 2020 and attended the Senior Bowl, which we know is a big deal for

The Colts need obvious help at left tackle and it’s unlikely they will wait until the sixth round to address that, but he meets plenty of criteria that Chris Ballard looks for in his offensive tackles.
