Auburn lands in four-star ATH Cameron Sparks’ final six

Sparks is the No. 3 overall prospect from the state of Tennessee for the 2025 cycle.

One of the top athletes from the 2025 recruiting cycle has trimmed his list down to six schools, and Auburn has made the cut.

[autotag]Cameron Sparks[/autotag], a four-star athlete from Chattanooga, Tennessee, has included Auburn in his final six college choices. Auburn joins Tennessee, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan, and Miami as schools Sparks is considering to attend.

Sparks earned his Auburn offer on Jan. 11, 2023, and visited campus for the first time during the weekend of Auburn’s game against Georgia on Sept. 30. He also stopped by on Jan. 20 according to 247Sports.

After releasing his top-six schools, Sparks joined Tom Loy of 247Sports for an interview. Sparks says that he is impressed by the recruiting efforts that head coach Hugh Freeze has put together since taking the job in Nov. 2022.

“They are not too far from home. They have a really good program,” Sparks said in a recent interview with 247Sports. Coach (Hugh) Freeze is doing great things. They are bringing in a lot of top guys in their recruiting classes.”

Sparks is the No. 42 overall recruit for the 2025 cycle according to 247Sports’ composite ranking, and is the No. 11 athlete in the nation. According to Christian Clemente of Auburn Undercover, Auburn is recruiting Sparks as a hybrid tight end that would also see time at receiver. The role that Auburn has in mind for sparks is similar to the one that Rivaldo Fairweather plays now for the Tigers.

Four-star ATH Cameron Sparks: Auburn is ‘definitely up there’

Auburn is in the mix for four-star athlete Cameron Sparks, who had another good visit to the Plains.

Four-star athlete [autotag]Cameron Sparks[/autotag] made his return to Auburn on Saturday and the Tigers made quite an impression on him.

“It’s been great being here all day. Getting around campus and talking to coaches,” Sparks told Auburn Undercover’s Christian Clemente. “Just how family-oriented it is. They’re real big on faith here and culture. I love it.”

Listed as an athlete, Auburn is recruiting him to play tight end and [autotag]Ben Aigamaua[/autotag] has a specific role in mind for the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder.

“It wouldn’t be a traditional tight end,” Sparks said. “I’d be spread out all over the field, kind of how they do Rivaldo (Fairweather) right now. I’d be single receiver, slot receiver, sometimes winged up. Just all over the field.”

Sparks is the No. 40 overall player and No. 1 athlete in the 247Sports composite ranking. The Chattanooga native is also the No. 2 player from Tennessee.

The visit has Auburn in a good place with Sparks, who admitted Auburn is “definitely up there.”

Nation’s No. 1 athlete Cameron Sparks recaps Tennessee visit

Five-star in-state wide receiver Cameron Sparks recaps visit to Tennessee.

Five-star athlete Cameron Sparks unofficially visited Tennessee on Tuesday.

The visit is Sparks’ fourth to Tennessee in the last two years.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound wide receiver is from Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Sparks discussed his visit and updated his recruitment with Vols Wire.

“My biggest takeaway was just being able to get back on campus and be around the coaches and players,” Sparks said. “I do plan on returning to Tennessee sometime this summer.”

Sparks is the No. 18 overall prospect in the class of 2025. He ranks as the No. 1 athlete nationally and No. 1 player in Tennessee, according to the 247Sports composite.

The Vols are making an early impression on the in-state wide receiver.

“Tennessee is definitely up there in my recruitment status,” Sparks said about where the Vols stand in his recruitment. “Tennessee just has a really special culture and they’re all about getting to become close with the recruits and their families.

“My relationship with the staff is really good. I talk to coach (Max) Thurmond and coach (Kelsey) Pope the most.”

As a freshman and sophomore, Sparks played multiple positions on offense and defense. The 2025 prospect has not decided on his position at the collegiate level.

“I honestly don’t know what position I would play in college,” Sparks said. “If I got the opportunity to play both ways, that would be a blessing.”

Being in the class of 2025, Sparks’ recruitment is still early in the process. He is not looking to make a quick decision, but will begin narrowing his focus before his junior season.

“I just want to take this recruitment process slow and enjoy everything while I can,” Sparks said about his recruitment timeline. “I plan to narrow everything down before my senior season.”
