2023 4-Star EDGE Commits to Nebraska

A 4-star EDGE committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

On August 25, 2023 four-star edge rusher prospect Cameron Lenhardt committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

“After going through the whole process I really felt like the coaching staff at Nebraska was genuine and authentic with me,” Lenhardt said per Bryan Munson of On3.

247 Sports Composite ranks Lenhardt as the 33rd-best edge rusher in the 2023 class. His other two finalists were Michigan State and Penn State.

Lenhardt attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Landing Lenhardt is a significant victory for the Cornhuskers after they lost edge rusher Ashley Williams to Auburn. According to 247 Sports, Lenhardt is now the second-highest-rated recruit in Nebraska’s 2023 recruiting class trailing only wide receiver Omarion Miller.

DE Cameron Lenhardt to make college decision Thursday

Cameron Lenhardt is set to make his college decision this Thursday between his top three of Michigan State, Penn State and Nebraska

IMG Academy defensive end Cameron Lenhardt is set to make his college decision this Thursday, August 25th. He will be deciding between his top three of Michigan State, Penn State and Nebraska.

All predicitions point to Lenhardt choosing the Cornhuskers, which checks out considering Nebraska was the only offical visit Lenhardt took in the month of June.

Lenhardt attended Michigan State’s junior day on January 29th, but the coaching staff has not pushed the hardest for the IMG product.

We will see the ultimate decision this Thursday.

On3 Predicts Cornhuskers Will Land 2023 4-Star EDGE

On3 predicts the Nebraska Cornhuskers will land a 4-star EDGE.

On July 8, 2023 four-star edge rusher Cameron Lenhardt announced his top three schools: Nebraska, Michigan State, and Penn State.

On3’s Bryan Munson believes that the Cornhuskers are the favorite for Lenhardt. On July 11, Munson predicted that Lenhardt would commit to Nebraska with a 70 percent confidence level.

This is a big development, as On3 recruiting analyst Ryan Snyder predicted Michigan State would land Lenhardt on May 16.

247 Sports ranked Lenhardt as the 28th-best edge rusher in the 2023 class. He would be a big addition to Nebraska’s defense.

Nebraska has already landed two edge rushers in the 2023 class: Ashley Williams (No. 36 EDGE) and Maverick Noonan (No. 49 EDGE).

4-Star pass rusher visits Lincoln over the weekend

A big-time recruiting visit took place this weekend for Scott Frost and company!

A 4-star lineman originally from Staten Island, NY, made a visit to Lincoln this weekend to check out the Cornhusker program. Cameron Lenhardt, of IMG Academy out of Bradenton, Florida, made a visit to Scott Frost and company. The 6-3 240-pound defensive end originally started his career in New Jersey for famed high school program Don Bosco Prep before heading to the sunshine state.

Nebraska is currently considered one of the leading programs the edge rusher is considering, but he also has visits scheduled to Maryland, Michigan State, and Penn State. Rivals currently have Nebraska as the front runner for Lenhardt, while On3 says that Michigan State is the likely leader in the clubhouse. However, he’s also said that he is in no rush to make a commitment and will likely make a decision either during his senior season or after its conclusion.

Four-star defensive lineman reacts to Penn State visit

Four-star DL target in 2023 reacts to his most recent visit to Penn State.

Penn State hosted a big recruiting target on Monday when four-star defensive lineman Cameron Lenhardt made a trip to Happy Valley. The four-star prospect from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida put out a post on his Twitter profile reacting to what was seemingly a pleasant visit with James Franklin and the Penn State program.

Penn State is seemingly in a recruiting battle for Lenhardt with Michigan State and South Carolina. Lenhardt previously posted a few images of him in a Michigan State uniform on his Instagram account following his previous visit to East Lansing.

Of course, this was a day after he had posted a similar image of him in a Penn State uniform following a previous visit to Happy Valley.

Penn State extended a scholarship offer to Lenhardt in the summer of 2020, and he has since made four unofficial visits to Penn State. This would seemingly suggest Penn State is in a favorable position on the recruiting trail, and head coach James Franklin reportedly told Lenhardt they would be coming after him vigorously now that the Class of 2022 has been signed, sealed, and delivered.

Already off to a nice start with the Class of 2023 with a significant focus on the offensive line, adding Lenhardt would be a nice piece for the future of the defensive line as well.
