Alabama lands commitment from elite, 2024 TE Caleb Odom

2024 tight end Caleb Odom committed to Alabama on Saturday evening. Odom chose the Crimson Tide over Miami and Texas A&M.

The future of Alabama’s tight end room got a little bit stronger on Saturday evening as 2024 tight end Caleb Odom announced his commitment to Alabama. Odom chose the Crimson Tide over Texas A&M, Miami, and Ole Miss among others.

Odom is a 6-foot-4 tight end out of Class 7A Georgia powerhouse, Carrollton High School. As a junior, Odom reeled in 64 receptions for 1,121 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was the receiving threat in a Trojans offense led by Alabama quarterback target Julian “Juju” Lewis.

He took four official visits in June. He made trips to Alabama (June 2-4), Auburn (June 12), Florida (June 9-11), and Miami (June 23-25). The visit that appeared to make a huge difference in Odom’s decision was the visit that he and his family took to Tuscaloosa.

Odom was able to spend some time with Alabama head coach Nick Saban and the rest of the coaching staff. He was also able to spend some time with current players and recruiting targets as well.

His commitment gives Alabama 14 commits for the 2024 recruiting class. He is the fifth player to commit to the Crimson Tide this week. The 2024 prospects that verbally committed to Alabama earlier in the week were Justin Okoronkwo, Zabien Brown, and Casey Poe.

2024 4-star Tight end Caleb Odom set to commit on Saturday (tonight) July 15

2024 4-star tight end Caleb Odom will announce his collegiate destination on Saturday night, with the Aggies squarely in play among multiple suitors.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class is ever-growing after landing its 17th prospect on Wednesday after four-star safety Myles Davis chose the Aggies over the rival Texas Longhorns, confusing several recruiting sites, while Rivals/Aggies recruiting insider Landyn Rosow stood as one of the only analysts to predict Davis’s decision correctly.

On Saturday night, another blue-chip prospect in the 2024 cycle is set to announce his collegiate decision at 8:00 p.m. CT. as four-star tight end Caleb Odom, one of the more elite receivers in the country, will choose between Alabama, Florida, Miami, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.

Odom is the 64th-ranked player in the 2024 cycle, the 4th-ranked tight end, and the 11th-ranked player in Georgia per 247Sports Composite. He’s 6-5 and 215 pounds, with over 33 offers, and Texas A&M is still in the running. Odom is a versatile receiver and seam buster, blurring the line between tight end and wide receiver.

Jimbo Fisher and his staff, especially secondary coach Bryant Gross-Armiento, have assembled a class that could end up ranked in the Top 5 come February, and adding yet another elite tight end like Caleb Odom into the fold further couldn’t hurt.

2026 IOL Zykie Helton commits to Alabama over Georgia, others

2026 interior offensive lineman Zykie Helton announced his verbal commitment to Alabama on Sunday. Helton chose the Crimson Tide over other programs like Georgia, Auburn, and Texas A&M.

Interior offensive lineman Zykie Helton of the 2026 class announced his commitment to Alabama on Sunday. Helton chose the Crimson Tide over Georgia, Auburn, and others.

Helton becomes the first commit in Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class. Interestingly enough, the Tide are also pushing to land Helton’s high school teammate, quarterback Julian Lewis.

Helton is listed at 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds. He has the size to play any position on the offensive line at the collegiate level. It is unclear as to what position the Alabama coaching staff is recruiting Helton to play.

Nonetheless, Helton’s commitment is a great starting point for the Crimson Tide.

Recruiting Roundup: 5 recruits that Alabama fans need to keep a close eye on in July

here are a handful of targets that are set to announce their commitment this month, here’s who you should know.

Alabama is expected to pick up some steam on the recruiting trail in July. A number of 2024 and 2025 prospects are set to announce their decisions with the Crimson Tide being at the forefront in their recruitment.

Thus far, Alabama has 10 commits in the 2024 recruiting class and three commits in the 2025 recruiting class.

The 2024 prospects cannot take official visits until the end of July, so there will be a window of about three weeks where recruits choose to commit. Some will close down their recruitment while others will continue to take visits to see what other programs have to offer.

Ultimately, I expect July to be one of the biggest months in Alabama recruiting history. There are a number of recruits that have set commitment dates while others could decide to commit at any time. I really like Alabama’s chances of closing out the summer on a good note.

Roll Tide Wire lists five recruits that Alabama fans should keep a close eye on in the month of July.

Texas A&M Football Recruiting: several 2024 prospects recently placed the Aggies in their Top program lists

Texas A&M received much attention last week, as several 2024 prospects placed the Aggies among their top preferred programs lists.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class quite literally exploded (in a good way) in the last two weeks of June, as the now 13th-ranked class, according to 247Sports team rankings, adding the likes of WR Drelon Miller, OT Weston Davis, LB Tyanthony Smith, Edge Gabriel Reliford since Monday, and to kick off July, four-star wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby committed to Aggies on Saturday afternoon.

So far, 15 prospects, including two quarterbacks, three wide receivers, three offensive linemen, one tight end, two defensive linemen, one safety, and three, and yes, three blue-chip linebackers, which is certainly a sight for sore eyes for every Aggie fan reading this. With full steam ahead, Jimbo Fisher and his staff set their sights on several priority prospects, including five-star wide receiver prospects Terry Bussey and Cam Coleman, who remain slight favorites to land with the Aggies when all is said and done.

Last week amid the flurry of commitments, several blue-chip prospects in the 2024 cycle released their top program lists. By the looks of it, nothing is Fisher as July presents a litany of opportunities to continue this momentum ride. Here are five 2024 prospects who recently placed Texas A&M in their top program lists.

2024 4-star Tight end Caleb Odom has placed Texas A&M in his Top 5 program list

The Aggies are now finalists for 2024 4-star tight end Caleb Odom, who released his Top 5 program list earlier this week.

Texas A&M and Head Coach Jimbo Fisher now know where they stand with 2024 four-star tight end Caleb Odom, who, earlier this week, announced his Top 5 program list along with his commitment date, set for Saturday, July 15.

Odom is currently positioned as the 67th-ranked player in the 2024 cycle, the 4th-ranked tight end, and the 11th-ranked player in Georgia, according to 247Sports Composite. After releasing his final Top 5 school list ahead of his July announcement, a litany of blue-chip programs made the cut, including Alabama, Miami, Ole Miss, Florida, and of course, Texas A&M, who recently hosted Odom on June 16.

Standing at 6-5 and 215 pounds, he has received over 33 offers, including his final program list, and Texas A&M remains in stiff competition; Odom’s potential as a seam buster and versatile receiving options proves that the tight end position has morphed into a hybrid outside wide receiver, which can also in-line block.

During his 2022 junior season at Carrolton High School in Carrolton, Georiga, Odom reeled in 63 passes for 1,121 yards and 13 touchdowns, helping Carrollton reach a 14-1 record and make the finals of Georgia’s AAAAAAA playoffs.

Favored to land with Alabama per multiple recruiting outlets, 2024 four-star OT Weston Davis’ sudden flip to the Aggies after being an essential lock for LSU is one of the many current examples to take each prediction with a grain of salt as we look ahead to July 15.

Billy Napier and Co. made some more headway on the recruiting trail on Wednesday when four-star tight end Caleb Odom out of Carrollton (Georgia) included the Gators among his top five preferred collegiate destinations, according to an announcement made on Twitter. Further, the coveted blue chipper also set a date for his final decision, which he plans on revealing July 15.

The other schools mentioned were the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ole Miss Rebels, Miami Hurricanes and Texas A&M Aggies.

The 6-foot-5-inch, 215-pound student-athlete last visited Gainesville during the second weekend of June, which has apparently sparked renewed interest in the Orange and Blue. Odom omitted UF from his preferred schools list earlier in the year but less than two months ago made an about-face, released an updated list about a month ago, releasing a list that consisted of Alabama, Ole Miss, Miami, the Georgia Bulldogs, Colorado BuffaloesPenn State Nittany Lions as well as Florida.

Part of the reason Odom delayed his interest in the Gators was the changing of the guards on the coaching staff, with his former lead recruiter and tight ends coach William Peagler departing for the NFL while the arrival of wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales and tight ends coach Russ Callaway put Florida back in the running for the coveted prospect.

Odom is ranked No. 68 overall and No. 4 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 65 and 4, respectively. Alabama holds three crystal ball predictions from 247Sports while On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine also has the Tide in the lead with a 61.1% chance of landing him; Florida is fourth at 1.5%.

From the looks of his 2024 4-star, Caleb Odom enjoyed his visit to Texas A&M as the Aggies look to make a lasting impression.

Social media has its positives and negatives regarding recruiting, as some information regarding various prospects taking campus visits creates healthy and unhealthy discourse.

Texas A&M’s social media team, however, is one of the best in the business when it comes to showing off everything the Aggies offer. During another busy recruiting weekend, 2024 four-star tight end Caleb Odom looked entirely in his element while donning the Maroon and White.

These 2024 football prospects will visit Texas A&M the weekend of June 16

Texas A&M’s recruiting summer rolls along as the Aggies welcome a handful of top football prospects from the 2024 cycle this weekend, including a five-star WR.

Another June weekend means another opportunity for Texas A&M to welcome a handful of top football prospects from the 2024 cycle.

After the Aggies saw a plethora of top recruiting visits in College Station over the last two weeks, this weekend marks the first instance where the visitor list isn’t as offensive line-heavy. Additionally, no prospects from the Lone Star State are expected for official visits from June 16 through June 18.

Still, it doesn’t exclude Jimbo Fisher and his staff from being hard at work to convince some of the most promising football players of the future to make College Station their next home. On the docket, this weekend is a handful of visits from some top-tier wideouts, including one five-star prospect and the number one ranked player in Alabama.

Additionally, a four-star defensive lineman will make his way through Aggieland. While he’s trending toward the Maroon and White, perhaps an OV this weekend will be the icing on the cake on him formally committing to A&M.

Here’s the rundown on the top football prospects visiting Texas A&M over the weekend. As always, we’ll update this accordingly if any additional names are to be added.

Florida football to get blue-chip pass-catcher on campus this weekend

The 6-foot-5-inch, 220-pound pass-catcher has been warming up to Florida of late after omitting it from his preferred schools list earlier.

This weekend is another big one for Billy Napier and the Florida football program as official visit season is currently in full swing in the Swamp. Among the many making the trek to Gainesville to see what the Gators have cooking on the gridiron is four-star tight end/wide receiver [autotag]Caleb Odom[/autotag] out of Carrollton (Georgia) in the 2024 cycle.

The 6-foot-5-inch, 220-pound pass-catcher has been warming up to the Orange and Blue of late after omitting UF from his preferred schools list earlier in the year. The rising high school senior released an updated list about a month ago, which consisted of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels, Miami Hurricanes, Colorado Buffaloes, Penn State Nittany Lions and Florida.

The blue-chipper already paid a visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend, and after his visit to Gainesville this coming weekend, he still has two more OVs this month with the Auburn Tigers and Miami.

Odom is ranked No. 85 overall and No. 6 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 69 and 4, respectively. He currently holds a 247Sports crystal ball prediction for both Alabama and Ole Miss, while On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Rebels on top with a 46.4% chance of landing him. Alabama, Auburn and Florida trail behind at 38.2%, 2.6% and 2.2%, respectively.
