Browns inactives: CB Greg Newsome active vs. Ravens

The Browns slot corner will be back vs Baltimore

The Cleveland Browns have announced their inactives list against the Baltimore Ravens, as they look for revenge for the loss in Cleveland back in October.

The Browns will be without three of their best offensive tackles, which is not good going against a defense that leads the league in sacks. It will be a big test for Deshaun Watson, as this is his chance to prove he is still an elite franchise quarterback.

The team will also be down two wide receivers in Marquise Goodwin and David Bell, where Austin Watkins Jr. was called up from the practice squad to cover for injuries. The Browns’ defense will need to step up against an offense that is killing teams running the football. This has all the makings of a statement game for Cleveland.

The inactives for today are as follows:

  • QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson
  • S Ronnie Hickman
  • DE Isaiah McGuire
  • DT Siaki Ika
  • OT Dawand Jones
  • WR Marquise Goodwin
  • WR David Bell

The Browns and Ravens kick things off at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.

Browns inactive players for Week 15 vs. Raiders: Injured CB Greg Newsome among the few

The Browns didn’t have to make many players inactive vs. the Raiders due to the COVID-19 outbreak

It’s been a nearly impossible task to keep track of which Cleveland Browns players will be available for Monday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Between the COVID-19 outbreak and the NFL moving the game from Saturday to Monday, the availability is a constantly morphing question.

With just 90 minutes to kickoff, the Browns were forced to choose the final eligible players for the critical AFC matchup. Remember, players on the reserve/COVID-19 list do not need to be made inactive.

Here is who the Browns, led by special teams coach Mike Priefer in place of Kevin Stefanski, made inactive:

DT Josiah Bronson

WR Lawrence Cager

CB Greg Newsome II

Newsome was already ruled out with an injury on the initial weekly injury report. That left just two players needing to be rendered inactive. Normally the list is six to eight players, depending on the week.

The Cleveland Browns inactives for Week 16 vs. Jets

Only 4 inactives but plenty of roster shuffling

Shorthanded doesn’t begin to describe the Cleveland Browns’ status entering Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff with the Jets in New York. The sparse inactive list reflects the Browns’ roster issues caused by a late outbreak of contact tracing and injuries.

The inactives list doesn’t include the multitude of players placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list over the weekend. That group includes Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins and the receiving corps as well as LBs Jacob Phillips and B.J. Goodson.

Just four players are inactive:

S Tedric Thompson

T Jedrick Wills Jr.

G Wyatt Teller

DE Joe Jackson

Wills is out with an illness and Teller was already ruled out with his ankle injury.

The Browns come into this game with a 9-3 record after beating the Titans last week 41-35. Baker Mayfield and company have played well this season and will look to his favorite target, Jarvis Landry tonight when they face those pesky Ravens. Meanwhile, Baltimore is coming off a 34-17 win over the Cowboys last weekend and Lamar Jackson and their stingy defense will look for their eighth win of the season.

This should be a fun one to watch with Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield going at it! Make sure you tune in, here is everything you need to know to stream the action tonight!

Browns inactives vs. Texans show a healthy Cleveland team

Browns inactives vs. Texans show a healthy Cleveland team

Coming out of the bye week, the Cleveland Browns are about a healthy as a team can be in Week 10. The team’s inactives list is full of healthy scratches of special teams players and reserves.

The Browns inactives for Week 10:

  • WR Taywan Taylor
  • RB Dontrell Hilliard
  • CB Robert Jackson
  • S Jovante Moffatt
  • LB Jacob Phillips
  • DE Joe Jackson

Phillips was the only player who carried an injury designation into the game. The rookie LB was listed as questionable with a knee injury that has kept him sidelined for several weeks.

The Browns also announced that Ronnie Harrison will start at safety over Karl Joseph.

Browns inactives vs. Colts: Karl Joseph joins the injured players sitting out

Joseph will be replaced by Ronnie Harrison

The Cleveland Browns revealed the inactive players for the Week 5 home date with the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. With three players already ruled out on Friday with injuries, there were no real big surprises.

We already knew CB Greedy Williams, LB Tae Davis and DT Larry Ogunjobi would be inactive due to their injuries. They are joined on the inactive list by three others:

  • WR Taywan Taylor
  • S Karl Joseph
  • OL Evan Brown

Joseph, normally a starter, was questionable for the game with a hamstring injury. He will be replaced in the lineup by Ronnie Harrison.

Brown and Taylor are deep reserves who have yet to play during the 2020 season.

Cleveland Browns inactives for Week 3 vs. Football Team

Denzel Ward and Adrian Clayborn are active

Kevin Stefanski and the Cleveland Browns have chosen their game day inactive list of players for the Week 3 matchup with the Washington Football Team. And the good news is cornerback Denzel Ward isn’t one of the six inactives.

Ward was questionable for the game with a groin injury suffered Thursday. He is active, as is DE Adrian Clayborn, who was also questionable for the game.

The Browns had ruled out Olivier Vernon, Greedy Williams and rookie LB Jacob Phillips on Friday’s final injury report. They are joined on the inactive list by three offensive players:

  • WR Rashard Higgins
  • WR Donovan Peoples-Jones
  • OL Evan Brown

Undrafted rookie CB A.J. Green was elevated from the practice squad on Saturday to help with the injuries in the secondary.

Browns inactive players vs. Bengals in Week 2

The Browns made several injured players inactive for Week 2

The Cleveland Browns carry a lot of injuries into the Week 2 battle with the short-week battle with the Cincinnati Bengals. It’s reflected in the weekly inactive list, which has four players on it who were already ruled out on the Browns’ final injury report on Wednesday.

The Browns had revealed that CB Kevin Johnson (liver), LB Jacob Phillips (knee), CB Greedy Williams (shoulder), LB Mack Wilson (knee) would all miss the game with their injuries. Those wounded Browns are joined by WR Donovan Peoples-Jones and DE Olivier Vernon.

Vernon was bothered with an injury all week and was listed as questionable.

The Bengals inactive list:

Inactives for Browns vs. Ravens includes 3 injured starters

JC Tretter is active and will start at center

Kevin Stefanski didn’t have many tough choices when evaluating who would go on the Cleveland Browns inactive player list for Week 1 in Baltimore. Injuries to several players made it a lot easier to fill out the inactives.

With four players ruled out on Friday due to injury, more than half the list was already known.

  • CB Greedy Williams
  • OT Chris Hubbard
  • CB Kevin Johnson
  • LB Mack Wilson

They are joined by rookie WR Donovan Peoples-Jones and recently claimed DE Joe Jackson.

The good news is that center JC Tretter is indeed active and will start vs. Baltimore.

Last time these two teams met was actually the last time the Baltimore Ravens lost a game in the NFL. This is the rematch that Lamar Jackon and the Ravens have been waiting for. Baltimore will be heading to Cleveland this time around for some revenge on the shores of Lake Erie.

Baltimore looks to clinch home-field advantage with a win today in Cleveland. With the Ravens holding the top spot in the AFC at 12-2, they look for some revenge after their week four loss to the Browns. Lamar Jackson is the heavy favorite for NFL MVP and will want to show his quickness again today with a performance against a struggling Browns team.

Cleveland acquired some serious talent this past offseason and while on paper they looked like one of the best teams in the league, it hasn’t panned out. Freddie Kitchens job is on the line as he tries to get to more out of his players like Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, and Baker Mayfield. They are already out of the playoffs but now comes time for job security in this business of a league.

Prediction: Baltimore will be looking for some revenge from their 40-25 shellacking in week four of the season. The spread has gone from (-7) to (-10) which shows the sharps money is on the Ravens. I think this will be a different type of game than last time against the Browns. Take the Ravens to cover against a team that is trying to hold on for dear life. Ravens (-10)
