Wisconsin football offers four-star class of 2026 quarterback

Wisconsin football extended an offer to class of 2026 quarterback Brodie McWhorter on Wednesday.

Williams is currently ranked as a four-star recruit via 247Sports’ composite ranking. The Cartersville, Georgia native already holds offers from 20 schools including Ohio State, Auburn, North Carolina, Florida, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Florida State.

247Sports has McWhorter as the No. 18 quarterback in his class, No. 26 recruit from Georgia and No. 253 overall player in the class of 2026. He currently represents Cass High School in Georgia and stands at 6’2,” 190 pounds.

His first gridiron offer arrived from Florida State in March 2023. From that point forward, the sophomore steadily earned offers from some of the most prestigious programs in the nation.

Reynolds joins class of 2026 quarterback Jonas Williams and Tait Reynolds to receive an offer from Wisconsin this spring.

Currently, UW’s quarterback room consists of  Mabrey Mettauer, Cole LaCrue, Braedyn Locke and Tyler Van Dyke. Van Dyke is currently projected to be the Badgers’ starter this fall.

Blue-chip 2026 QB recruit plans return visit to Florida after ‘great’ trip

After receiving an offer last week, this coveted QB prospect is looking to get back to Gainesville soon.

The recruiting frenzy continues for Florida football after things opened back up with the current contact period and the Gators have wasted no time getting back into the swing of things.

Last Friday, Billy Napier and Co. extended a scholarship offer to four-star quarterback [autotag]Brodie McWhorter[/autotag] out of Kingston (Georgia) Cass in the 2026 cycle after his visit to the Swamp. The 6-foot-1-inch, 190-pound passer came away very impressed with what the Orange and Blue had to offer.

“What stood out most was the love shown from every single coach. They were definitely making me feel like a top priority while I was there,” he told Gators Online. In particular, it was Napier and offensive analyst Ryan O’Hara who stood out the most.

“My talks with coach Napier and coach O’Hara were great,” McWhorter noted. “What’s special about Florida is coach Napier played quarterback at the highest level, so he has done this and been in my shoes before. The main message from him was just to keep doing what I was doing. He said me and (Graham) Mertz‘s game are very similar, so that’s what makes it awesome with me.”

As far as getting back to Gainesville, it appears he has an open invitation to return.

“They told me I could visit any time I wanted,” said McWhorter. “I might go back for the spring game, but I’m not sure what my schedule is looking like.”

Recruiting summary

McWhorter is unrated and unranked by the 247Sports composite but the On3 industry ranking has him at No. 229 overall nationally and No. 20 at his position; Rivals has him at Nos. 100 and 7, respectively.

On3s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Georgia Bulldogs out front with a narrow 24.8% chance of landing him, followed by the Florida State Seminoles (21.7%), Mississippi State (12.6%) and South Florida (10.5%).

Georgia football offers scholarship to quarterback Brodie McWhorter

UGA football offers scholarship to elite in-state quarterback Brodie McWhorter

The Georgia Bulldogs are the latest college football program to offer a scholarship to talented quarterback recruit Brodie McWhorter. The 6-foot-2, 190-poiund quarterback has been a hot recruiting target recently. McWhorter has recent scholarship offers from North Carolina, Arkansas, and West Virginia. The talented quarterback prospect has also recently checked out Florida State’s campus.

Brodie McWhorter is one of the best quarterbacks in Georgia in the class of 2026. The unranked quarterback recruit plays high school football for Cass High School in Cartersville, Georgia. McWhorter played alongside three-star Georgia signee Sacovie White at Cass.

Georgia football and head coach Kirby Smart are evaluating their future quarterback options with Carson Beck likely to head to the NFL after the 2024 college football season. Georgia’s answer could be on the roster with projected second-string quarterback Gunner Stockton. Additionally, Georgia football signee Ryan Puglisi is another potential option.

The Cass High School standout announced his scholarship offer from the University of Georgia via social media:

Georgia football is typically looking to sign at least one quarterback per recruiting cycle. Georgia only has three quarterbacks on its roster right now, so the Bulldogs may add a transfer quarterback via the portal after spring practice.

Standout QB enjoyed ‘electric’ atmosphere during first visit to Death Valley

After camping at Clemson during the summer, a talented young signal-caller from the Peach State returned to Tiger Town last weekend.

Cass High School (Cartersville, Ga.)’s Brodie McWhorter – a standout quarterback in the class of 2026 – made his first-ever gameday visit to Death Valley for Clemson’s top-10 showdown against NC State last Saturday night, a 30-20 victory for the Tigers over the Wolfpack.

“The visit went great,” he told The Clemson Insider. “The highlight to my visit was the atmosphere, it was electric! This was my first visit to Death Valley.”

McWhorter traveled to Clemson with his parents, brother and sister, as well as his teammate Devin Henderson, an athlete in the class of 2024.

“They enjoyed it very much!” McWhorter said.

A 6-foot-1, 180-pound freshman, McWhorter spoke with a couple of Clemson’s coaches while on campus, including Tyler Grisham.

“He didn’t believe that I was only a freshman because of my size,” McWhorter said of Grisham, “and told me to keep working.”

Clemson is among a number of Power Five programs already showing early interest in McWhorter, who is the starting quarterback for his school’s varsity team in his first year of high school.

“I know Clemson has interest in me but Coach Swinney doesn’t offer freshmen and sophomores, so I totally understand,” he said. “I’m also getting interest from Ohio State, Georgia, Florida State, Tennessee and other schools right now.”

McWhorter undoubtedly has high interest in Dabo Swinney’s program.

“What stands out the most to me about Clemson’s program is the love that Coach Swinney has for his players,” he said. “An offer from the Tigers would be very special!”

McWhorter participated in the Swinney Camp from June 10-12 and spoke highly of his Clemson camp experience, as well as the coaching he received from both Swinney and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Brandon Streeter.

“The camp went great,” McWhorter told TCI. “The thing that stood out to me the most was the love from Coach Swinney and Coach Streeter.”

Highly-touted Peach State signal caller high on Clemson, plans to attend a game this fall

One of the nation’s top freshman signal-callers had the chance to camp at Clemson earlier this summer.

Brodie McWhorter — a 6-foot-1, 180-pound quarterback out of Cartersville (Georgia) Cass High — participated in the Dabo Swinney camp from June 10-12. McWhorter, who is one of the top QBs in the class of 2026, spoke highly of his Clemson camp experience, as well as the coaching he received from both Swinney and Brandon Streeter.

“The camp went great,” McWhorter recently told The Clemson Insider. “The thing that stood out to me the most was the love from Coach Swinney and Coach Streeter.”

Having a chance to work with Clemson’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach was something that McWhorter held in high regard.

“He was awesome to work with, but what stood out to me the most is we would continue to work at a drill or footwork until he knew I got it done,” McWhorter said of Streeter.

That’s not the only thing that stuck out to McWhorter about his time in Tiger Town earlier this summer. He again spoke highly of Clemson’s head coach and indicated that his overall impression of Clemson starts with long-winded Swinney’s speeches.

“Something that he said that stuck out to me was the housekeeping rules,” McWhorter recalled. “Just the pride of being a Clemson Tiger and the ‘cleaning up after Clemson’ meaning. You clean up after yourself no matter where you go. From the shuttle bus to the dining hall, you clean up.”

In addition to Clemson, McWhorter participated in eight other camps this summer. The highly-touted McWhorter said that he’s been receiving the most interest from Clemson, Ohio State, Florida State, Georgia, LSU and South Carolina — all schools he camped at this summer. He also had the chance to camp at both Auburn and Alabama.

Getting a better feel for McWhorter and his game, the freshman signal-caller is already a leader in his own right. He’s the type of player that if you throw anything at him, he’s gonna be ready. McWhorter is a pro-style quarterback, who can sling it, but also tuck it and run when need be.

McWhorter is teammates with fast-rising 2024 wide receiver Sacovie White, who The Clemson Insider also recently spoke with. Cass opened up its season last Friday and lost 26-25 to Kennesaw (Georgia) Mountain High. White, who had multiple receptions, felt like losing by one point to a high school in the 7A classification will help his team get ready for once region play rolls around.

As McWhorter focuses on the season ahead, he is planning to get up to Clemson for a gameday at Memorial Stadium in the foreseeable future.

“I plan to attend a game this fall,” he said. “Excited to be in Death Valley.”
