Brock Bowers’ 2nd TD of the day gives Georgia 31-0 lead over Yellowjackets

Georgia true freshman tight end Brock Bowers if having himself a huge day in Atlanta.

Bowers got on the board first with this huge 77-yard catch and run for a score in the first half.

Bowers found the endzone once more in Georgia’s first possession of the second half.

We’re not sure why Bowers is not a finalist for the Mackey Award, given to the nation’s top tight end.

The Napa, Cal. native has 3 catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns so far and already leads Georgia in receptions, yards and touchdowns on the season.

Georgia freshman earns SEC honor for performance vs. Vanderbilt

Georgia football is loaded with freshman talent and it was on display vs. Vandy.

Georgia freshman tight end Brock Bowers is leading the Bulldogs in receiving so far this season. The former four-star prospect had to step in when star tight end Darnell Washington underwent foot surgery in fall camp and has more than impressed through four games.

The Napa, Cal. was named SEC Freshman of the Week for a productive day versus Vanderbilt, racking up four catches for 69 yards and two touchdowns, with another 12 yards and a score on the ground.

Fellow Bulldog Adonai Mitchell won the same award just two weeks ago.

Bowers has 18 receptions for 272 yards and four touchdowns on the year. Georgia needed a playmaker to step up with the large number of injuries to receivers and Bowers has done just that.

Per his Twitter account, 2021 4-star tight end Brock Bowers has committed to the University of Georgia.

From Napa, California, Bowers is rated as the No. 3 tight end, the No. 11 prospect in California and the No. 92 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting class – according to 247Sports Composite.

Bowers’ top eight schools were Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, UCLA, Washington, Notre Dame, Penn State and Georgia.

Although most believed he would sign with Georgia, Bowers commitment is still huge for the Bulldogs, who’s 2021 class still only has 12 names on the board.

The Bulldogs’ 2021 class is currently ranked No. 14 in the country and fifth in the SEC.Β However, don’t question the talent level of the guys who are already locked- in.

Georgia currently has an average player rating of (.9364), which is higher than the Bulldogs’ average in last year’s No. 1 ranked class of 2020. (0.9296)
