LSU basketball vs. Wake Forest: Stream, injury report, broadcast info ahead of Holiday Hoopsgiving on Saturday

The Tigers are looking for their best win so far this season against the Demon Deacons.

After more than a week off, LSU’s men’s basketball team returns to the court on Saturday afternoon for a matchup against Wake Forest in the Holiday Hoopsgiving showcase at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

The Tigers are 7-1 coming off a tight four-point win over UT Arlington, and they’ll look to earn their best win so far against a Wake team that is 7-2 and ranks No. 82 in the NET. The Demon Deacons had a massive turnaround last season under Steve Forbes, finishing 25-10 but missing the NCAA Tournament.

Wake Forest will hope to reverse those fortunes in Year 3 under Forbes, and they already have a Quadrant 1 win, which came over Wisconsin. It also has a win over an SEC team in Georgia, though they lost their ACC opener against Clemson.

They’re led by a player LSU should be familiar with in Tyree Appleby, a Florida transfer who averages 18.3 points.

Here’s what you need to know to follow the toughest remaining game in LSU’s non-conference slate, which tips off on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.

LSU vs. Georgia: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for 2022 SEC Championship Game

Here’s what you need to know to follow the Tigers in the SEC title game.

The Tigers will be playing for a conference title on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Atlanta to take on an undefeated Georgia team that ranks No. 1 in the country.

The defending national champion Bulldogs, led by coach Kirby Smart, are yet to face a real scare this season, and they are likely heading to the College Football Playoff regardless of the result in Saturday’s game. Still, LSU will try to pull off the stunning upset and capture some hardware in coach Brian Kelly’s first season.

Here’s what you need to know to follow the Tigers in the 2022 SEC Championship, which kicks off at 3 p.m. CT at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

LSU basketball vs. Illinois State: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for Cayman Islands Classic opener

The Tigers are heading to the Caribbean for the three-day tournament this week.

The Tigers are heading down to the Caribbean this week to participate in the Cayman Islands Classic in George Town, the islands’ capital city. LSU will play games on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as part of the event, but first up is a matchup against the Illinois State Redbirds on Monday morning at 10 a.m. CT.

LSU enters at 3-0 to start the [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] era having won 91-62 in the last outing against New Orleans after it struggled a bit in the first two games. ISU comes into this one at 2-2 on the season under first-year coach Ryan Pedon, a former assistant at Illinois, Butler and, most recently, Ohio State.

The Redbirds beat Eastern Illinois but lost to Western Illinois, and they split a pair of matchups against Northwestern State last week. After this matchup, LSU will take on either Akron or Western Kentucky at either 10 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday.

Here’s what you need to know to follow the opener from the Cayman Islands.

LSU vs. UAB: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for Senior Night in Week 12

Here’s what you need to know to follow the Senior Night action.

For the last time in 2022, the Tigers are set to take the field at Death Valley on Saturday night. LSU hosts the UAB Blazers on Senior Night having already clinched a spot in the SEC title game in Atlanta.

However, the Tigers still have a lot to play for in this one as they remain in the College Football Playoff discussion. However, with two losses, another slip-up would surely put those hopes to bed.

The Tigers draw a 5-5 UAB team in the midst of a down year under interim coach Bryant Vincent, who took over after former coach Bill Clark retired in June. The Blazers snapped a three-game losing streak last weekend with a win over North Texas.

Here’s everything you need to know to follow this game, which kicks off at Tiger Stadium at 8 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN2.

LSU basketball vs. New Orleans: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for in-state showdown

The Tigers welcome a 1-1 New Orleans team to town on Thursday night.

The 2-0 Tigers will be taking on a foe from Louisiana for the first time this season as the New Orleans Privateers come to town for the eighth-ever meeting between the two programs and first since 2019. LSU leads the all-time series at 7-1.

UNO enters this one led by 12th-year head coach Mark Slessinger, who has made the NCAA Tournament just once with the Privateers. New Orleans is 1-1 on the young season, losing 89-53 on the road against Butler to open the season before surviving a 65-63 contest against NAIA St. Francis (IL).

You can never look past an opponent in college basketball these days, given the number of buy-games that have been dropped to start the year. However, UNO ranks No. 267 in the NET — the lowest-ranked opponent the Tigers have faced.

Here’s everything you need to know to follow this one on Thursday night.

LSU vs. Arkansas State: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for men’s basketball

The Tigers return to the court Saturday evening to host the Red Wolves.

The Tigers got the win in Matt McMahon’s debut on Wednesday night, taking down Kansas City 74-63 in a game that was a bit too close for comfort.

Now, LSU will welcome Sun Belt foe Arkansas State to the PMAC on Saturday evening. The Red Wolves began the year with an 86-55 win over Harding, but this will be their first major test of the season.

ASU is led by sixth-year coach Mike Balado, who finished last season 18-11 before his team lost in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt tournament. Arkansas State ranks just No. 184 in the NET.

Here’s everything you need to know to follow this one, which is set to begin at 5 p.m. CT in Baton Rouge.

LSU at Arkansas: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for Week 11 SEC West contest

Here’s everything you need to know to follow Saturday’s road battle.

The Tigers can’t get too preoccupied with Saturday’s statement win over Alabama. Given the tough opponents week-in and week-out, that’s a luxury that teams in the SEC cannot afford.

Next up for LSU is a road battle against the Arkansas Razorbacks, who are 5-4 on the season under third-year coach Sam Pittman. The Hogs are coming off a home loss to Liberty in their last outing.

With a win — as well as an Alabama victory over Ole Miss later in the day — the Tigers could clinch the West. Regardless, they will clinch the division if they win their final two conference games.

Here’s everything you need to know to follow this one, which kicks off at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday morning in Fayetteville and will be televised on ESPN.

LSU to face UAB under the lights in Week 12

The Tigers’ final home game of the season will kick off at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2.

After this weekend’s road trip against Arkansas — in which LSU will look to avoid a letdown following an emotional win over Alabama on Saturday — the Tigers will return home for a game against the UAB Blazers — the final contest at Tiger Stadium this season.

That will be a night game at Death Valley, as kickoff has been set for 8 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

This is a bit of a down year for UAB, which has been one of the stronger Group of Five programs since it returned from hiatus in 2017. The Blazers are helmed by an interim coach in Bryant Vincent, who took over in June when Bill Clark retired. Vincent’s team is 4-5 on the year and just 2-4 in Conference USA play.

LSU closes the season out with a road trip against Texas A&M the following weekend, and it controls its destiny the SEC West. The UAB game won’t impact the division race, but the Tigers need to win out to remain in the College Football Playoff conversation.

LSU vs. Kansas City: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for men’s basketball season opener

Here’s what you need to know to follow the Tigers’ season opener Wednesday night.

The [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] era is set to begin on Wednesday night as LSU kicks off the season with a home contest against Kansas City at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Hailing from the Summit League, the Roos are coming off a solid season in which they finished 19-12 and 12-6 in conference play. They earned a four seed in the Summit League Tournament but were upset in their first game by South Dakota. They enter this game at 0-1 on the year having lost the opener to Division II Lincoln (Missouri) 59-56.

The Tigers aren’t the only team debuting a head coach this season, as former UMKC coach Billy Conlon resigned after the season to become an assistant coach at Clemson. His replacement is Marvin Menzies, a coaching veteran who previously helmed the programs at New Mexico State (2007-16) and UNLV (2016-19).

With the former, he finished with a 198-111 record, winning the WAC regular season three times and the conference tournament five times. In five NCAA Tournament appearances, Menzies never won a game. In three years with the Runnin’ Rebels, he went just 48-48 and never made the postseason.

This is a new look LSU roster that features a number of transfers, including three who followed McMahon from Murray State. Perhaps the most significant among them is forward [autotag]KJ Williams[/autotag], the defending Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year and a two-time First Team All-Conference selection.

There will certainly be a lot to watch for in McMahon’s debut. Here’s what you need to know to watch it.

LSU vs. Alabama: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for Saturday

Here’s what you need to know to follow Saturday’s key SEC matchup.

The Tigers return to the field on Saturday following a bye in Week 9 with the chance to pull off one of their biggest wins in years.

Placed in the top 10 of the initial College Football Playoff Rankings, the Tigers host No. 6 in Alabama in a matchup between teams that are 4-1 in SEC play. The victor takes control of the SEC West and has a good chance of winning the division.

Alabama won in its last outing against Mississippi State, which followed up a disappointing loss to now-No. 1 Tennessee on the road. The Crimson Tide still has all its goals in front of it, but the Tigers have the chance to play spoiler in this one.

Here’s everything you need to know to follow this Week 10 battle between [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag], which begins at 6 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN.
