Watch Brian Lindgren break down MSUs matchup with Oregon

Michigan State football will travel out west on Friday night for a matchup against the No. 6 Oregon Ducks, looking to pull of a huge upset.

A big part of the hope MSU will have to upset the Ducks will be centered around the success of the offense, and more specifically, the offense limiting mistakes and/or not turning the ball over.

MSU OC Brian Lindgren spoke to the media, previewing his unit’s upcoming matchup against the Ducks:

Watch Michigan State football offensive coordinator address media on Tuesday

Brian Lindgren addressed the media on Tuesday

Despite the reactions of some of their fans, and enemies, Michigan State football is undefeated after winning a football game this past weekend against Florida Atlantic.

While the Spartans did win, the team came under some fire over the weekend after the offense only managed to score 16 points in a game where quarterback Aidan Chiles originally told fans to ‘bet the over.’

MSU offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren addressed the media on Tuesday to talk about the game and where his offense goes from here:

Brian Lindgren to be in booth for Michigan State football’s season opener

MSU’s OC notes he will be in the booth, not on the field on Friday

Michigan State football is opening up the 2024 season, and the Jonathan Smith era, against Florida Atlantic on Friday night. The Spartans will start to answer a ton of questions surrounding the program.

One question, while not having a ton of significance, is something that fans note a lot. Brian Lindgren, the Spartans offensive coordinator, will be spending the game in the booth – not at field level.

Michigan State football offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren raves about tight end

MSU offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren raved about a tight end today, and it’s not the one you’d expect

There has been a lot of talk about Michigan State football’s offense this offseason under new head coach Jonathan Smith and offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren, and a lot of that talk has been around a tight end by the name of Jack Velling who transferred to MSU this year from Oregon State.

However, on Thursday, Brian Lindgren raved to Kenny Jordan of On3 about a particular tight end that has caught his eye at camp, and it’s not the one you’d expect.

Lindgren said he was impressed by sophomore tight end Brennan Parachek, particularly his size and mobility, saying:

‘We’re just scratching the surface with him, and we’ve been around a lot of really good tight ends and he has a chance to be an NFL guy.’

Parachek only caught six passes for 55 yards last season, so this could be a huge breakout year for him.

WATCH: Michigan State football’s new Offensive and Defensive Coordinators speak to media

New Michigan State football head coach brought in an almost entirely new coaching staff this year, with the exception of Courtney Hawkins.

The top hires, of course, are the two top coordinators for the offense and defense. For one of those, Brian Lindgren, Jonathan Smith opted to bring a familiar face with him from Oregon State. For the other, Joe Rossi, Smith opted to steal  a Big Ten veteran away from a rival program at Minnesota.

This week, offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren and defensive coordinator Joe Rossi addressed the media for one of the first times as Michigan State’s top coordinators. You can find both videos below, which were posted by SpartanMag.

Michigan State football offers, gets predictions for 2024 QB

MSU might be on the verge of landing their QB in the 2024 recruiting class:

Michigan State might be on the verge of landing its quarterback for the 2024 recruiting class. The Spartans coaching staff sent an offer to Alessio Milivojevic, a native of Wheaton, Illinois.

Milivojevic is committed to Ball State, but he holds power conference offers from Nebraska and Ole Miss. The signal-caller is a three-star prospect, but after a stellar senior year, he could be in line for a bump.

Shortly after the offer came in, several 247Sports crystal ball predictions followed for the Spartans to land the QB.

Milivojevic would replace Henry Hasselbeck, who decommitted earlier this week, as the Spartans’ quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class.

The Spartans adding a second QB in the 2024 class is not off the table at this time.

Michigan State football has their new offensive coordinator, taking OSU OC Brian Lindgren

Michigan State has its next offensive coordinator:

While the hiring of Jonathan Smith was highly anticipated and getting a new leader of the football program was something fans were really excited to see happen, the most anticipated assistant coach hire for Smith was his offensive coordinator.

It is no secret that the Spartan fan base has gone through the ringer, with the Jay Johnson era going horribly wrong, ending in a program worst performance against Penn State. Getting a new and improved offensive mind was critical for MSU going forward.

Smith has his man, bringing in Brian Lindgren, who has been his offensive coordinator at Oregon State for his whole six year tenure. He will also be responsible for coaching quarterbacks.

Lindgren’s resume is as follows:

2005 Redlands (QB)
2006 Northern Arizona (WR)
2007 Northern Arizona (RB)
2008 Northern Arizona (PGC/QB)
2009–2011 Northern Arizona (OC/QB)
2012 San Jose State (OC/QB)
2013–2015 Colorado (OC/QB)
2016–2017 Colorado (co-OC/QB)
2018–present Oregon State (OC/QB)
