Michigan State basketball: Recruiting Big Board

Take a look at Michigan State basketball’s 2022 recruiting big board

The 2022 recruiting cycle is in full swing, summer basketball tournaments are going on all over the country and the MSU coaching staff is on the road trying to build the next class of Spartans.

There was a time where MSU had both Emoni Bates and Enoch Boakye as a part of the 2022 recruiting class. But now, both have decommitted, Bates likely going pro and Boakye reclassifying to 2021 and heading to Arizona State.

The Spartans are now left with an empty recruiting class, but that wont be for long.

Tentatively, there are five open scholarships after this year, but Joey Hauser, Gabe Brown, and Marcus Bingham may have the option for one more additional season. So we should expect anywhere from 2 to 5 additions in this class.

Let’s take a look at who MSU is targeting in the 2022 recruiting class:

Tom Izzo has yet to receive a commitment for his 2022 recruiting class. The MSU head man has been seen at a plethora of AAU tournaments in the recent weeks, trying to catch up in recruiting.

One kid that Izzo has seen a lot of is Braden Huff, a forward from Carol Stream, Illinois. Huff is AAU teammates with Jaden Schutt, another MSU top target.

Izzo has been spotted courtside at several of their games in recent weeks, and the result of it was an offer to Braden Huff.

Michigan State joins Creighton, DePaul, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin, in offering Huff.

Huff has taken official visits to Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech.

Wisconsin receives a crystal ball prediction for 2022 PF Braden Huff

An interesting bit of recruiting news to monitor as the class of 2022 recruiting cycle heats up:

Things are quiet on the Wisconsin basketball recruiting trail with the class of 2021 having recently arrived on campus.

We have some significant news to monitor today, though, as Evan Flood of 247Sports gave the program a crystal ball prediction to land class of 2022 power forward Braden Huff.

Huff is unranked on the 247Sports composite, though is ranked by the site as the No. 98 recruit in the class of 2022, the No. 15 power forward and Illinois’ No. 2 player in the class. He visited Wisconsin last month, that after taking stops at Northwestern and Virginia Tech.

Wisconsin is yet to land a player in the class of 2022 after finishing the 2021 cycle with the nation’s No. 32-ranked class.
