Know your foe: Which Western Kentucky Hilltoppers might give Ohio State issues

The Buckeye defense will be tested this weekend #GoBucks

[autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] will face it’s toughest test to date, as it welcomes in the high-powered offense of [autotag]the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers[/autotag].

The Hilltoppers enter the game No. 12 in the nation in passing offense and tied for No. 18 in scoring, with 46.5 points per game. It’s going to be a very solid test of the Buckeye secondary, as they haven’t seen either of their first two opponents really probe the back end of the defense.

That will change this Saturday, and since none of us are Conference USA superfans, this will help figure out which WKU players’ names you might be hearing getting their names getting called often against the Ohio State.

Former Ohio State receiver enters transfer portal

With the hype of the early signing period winding down, we move back to the portal hype train (the gift that keeps giving — and taking away). There are few things in sports more intriguing than the transfer portal, and another former Ohio State Buckeye has made a decision on his next destination.

L’Christian “Blue” Smith is a former four-star recruit from Wayne High School in Dayton, Ohio, in the class of 2018. Smith didn’t stay in Columbus, Ohio long as he saw the writing on the wall as far as playing time is concerned and opted to hit the portal after his freshman season.

After narrowing his decision in 2019 to either Cincinnati or Kentucky, Smith became a Bearcat and had a fairly uneventful career at Cincinnati. He snagged five receptions for 62 yards this past season and has elected to enter the transfer portal once again. We wish Smith luck at his next school.
