SYDNEY – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC 293 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $209,000.

The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy.

UFC 293 took place at Qudos Bank Arena in Australia. The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPNews and ESPN+.

Under the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program’s payout tiers, which appropriate the money generated by Venum’s multi-year sponsorship with the UFC, fighters are paid based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as Zuffa-era WEC fights (January 2007 and later) and Zuffa-era Strikeforce bouts (April 2011 and later). Fighters with 1-3 bouts receive $4,000 per appearance; 4-5 bouts get $4,500; 6-10 bouts get $6,000; 11-15 bouts earn $11,000; 16-20 bouts pocket $16,000; and 21 bouts and more get $21,000. Additionally, champions earn $42,000 while title challengers get $32,000.

In addition to experience-based pay, UFC fighters will receive in perpetuity royalty payments amounting to 20-30 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness, according to officials.

Blood Diamond promises to show he’s better than first two octagon losses | UFC 293

Just given his name, extra attention has to be expected for Blood Diamond, who will try to snap a two-fight skid at UFC 293 in Sydney.

SYDNEY – Just given his name, extra attention has to be expected for [autotag]Blood Diamond[/autotag].

And that likely has a lot to do with why he’s out to prove he’s got more to offer than he’s shown in his first two UFC fights. The New Zealand-based Diamond (3-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) came to the UFC in 2022, but lost fights to Jeremiah Wells and Orion Cosce. Saturday, he’ll go after his long-awaited first UFC win in a bantamweight bout against Charlie Radtke (7-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC). The name of the game will be proving himself.

Diamond talked about that and more at Wednesday’s UFC 293 media day in Sydney.

Orion Cosce vs. Blood Diamond now set for UFC 277 in Dallas

UFC matchmakers have booked Orion Cosce vs. Blood Diamond for the third time, this time landing in Dallas.

A seemingly doomed UFC welterweight matchup is now set to take place at an upcoming pay-per-view event in Texas.

UFC 277, which takes place July 30 in Dallas, will now host the third attempt at getting [autotag]Orion Cosce[/autotag] and [autotag]Blood Diamond[/autotag] into the cage. The welterweights have previously been booked twice before, but both fell through. The new date was announced on social media by Iridium Sports Agency and sources with knowledge of the fight later confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie.

The first meeting was set for UFC 271, but Cosce (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) was unable to compete due to an injury. This led to Matheta (3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) making his UFC debut at the same event against Jeremiah Wells. The second booking was set for UFC 275 in June, however, Matheta withdrew from the fight.

“I hate pulling out, but for the 1st time I had to,” Diamond wrote on Instagram. “Focusing on rehab and being able to fight soon.”

Cosce and Diamond are now set to meet at American Airlines Arena at the end of July, as both fighters will look to overcome their debut setbacks.

Diamond was submitted in his debut against Wells in the first round. Cosce was stopped by Philip Rowe in the second round of his debut last July.

Orion Cosce vs. Blood Diamond scrapped from UFC 275 in Singapore

UFC 275 has lost the welterweight matchup between Orion Cosce and Blood Diamond.

UFC 275 has lost a welterweight matchup.

[autotag]Orion Cosce[/autotag] (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) vs. [autotag]Blood Diamond[/autotag] (3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) has been scratched from the June 11 event in Singapore. The news was first reported by BJPenn.com.

Cosce subsequently took to social media to address the news that the matchup has fallen apart for the second consecutive time after their initial meeting at UFC 271 was canceled.

“Unfortunately the news is true that my fight has been cancelled for #ufc275 Gonna keep training and stay ready for the next opportunity. Hopefully we can get rebooked as soon as Mathetha is healthy or someone else. Trying to fight a couple times this summer. All good🐉👊.”

Cosce, a Dana White Contender Series graduate, suffered his first-career loss in his promotional debut when he was stopped by Phil Rowe at UFC on ESPN 28 last July.
Diamond also fell short in his UFC debut. The City Kickboxing fighter was submitted in the first round by Jeremiah Wells, who replaced Cosce this past February at UFC 271.
