Colts stockpile upside in Draft Wire’s 4-round mock

Here are the Colts’ picks from Draft Wire’s latest mock.

The Indianapolis Colts are still months away from the 2024 NFL draft, but the discussions of who they will select have been well underway.

Thankfully, our friends over at Draft Wire put together a four-round mock draft ahead of Super Bowl LVIII. In that mock, the Colts selected plenty of talent with upside on both sides of the ball.

From an exciting addition to the receiver room to some intriguing upside on defense, here’s how that mock draft went for the Colts:

Full 7-round 2024 NFL mock draft: Patriots go all in on elite offensive weapons

The Patriots prioritize elite offensive weapons in this full seven-round 2024 NFL mock draft

Barring any decisions to trade back or trade up on the board, the New England Patriots are officially locked into pick No. 3 in the 2024 NFL draft.

There are reports the team could wait until after the draft to name a new general manager to keep continuity with the scouting department and the work they have already done.

However, one thing is clear: The Patriots need more talent across the board, and it starts in the NFL draft, where they can get the most bang for their buck with low cost, high impact players.

Here is our latest full seven-round 2024 NFL mock draft for the Patriots:

Who is missing from Notre Dame in Sun Bowl via opt-out?

These names could be in the Sun Bowl, but they won’t be.

It’s become increasingly common for college football players to opt out of inconsequential bowl games for one reason or another. With the College Football Playoff field tripling in size next year, that could solve the problem a bit, at least as far as the number of team this practice impacts. This is the future of college football, even if you don’t agree with it.

With Notre Dame facing Oregon State in the Sun Bowl, several Irish players are missing, either having entered the transfer portal or choosing to focus on preparing for the NFL draft. That means many of the Irish’s leaders in each major statistical category will be absent, so it’s not worth listing a bunch of names that won’t play.

Instead, we’re going to list the percentage of each major statistic that will be missing from the Irish during the final game of the season because of opt-outs. Hopefully, this won’t discourage you from watching the game too much:

Full 7-round 2024 NFL mock draft: Patriots land elite QB-WR combo

Patriots land the offensive haul of the century in our latest seven-round 2024 NFL mock draft.

The New England Patriots are sitting at 3-10 and clearly need some help if they have any hopes of being competitive next season. It’s getting closer to the offseason, where the disappointment will end and the reboot will begin.

Assuming coach/general manager Bill Belichick is no longer with the team in 2024, there’s a strong likelihood that a new regime would want their own style of players that fit into their scheme. However, we’re not taking any of that into consideration in this mock draft.

We’re going to handle this mock as if the season ended today. As usual, this mock draft is more of a simulation of what could happen and what decisions we would make if we were in that position.

Here’s who the Patriots came away with in this full seven-round NFL mock draft.

Notre Dame offensive lineman Blake Fisher declares for the 2024 NFL Draft

Notre Dame offensive lineman Blake Fisher declares for the 2024 NFL Draft

As the draft season draws nearer and nearer, it appears as though Notre Dame will have both of their starting offensive tackles as Blake Fisher just announced he is declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.

[lawrence-related id=648994]

Fisher has played both sides of the line for the Fighting Irish and while he was not quite on the level of his running mate Joe Alt, he still found plenty of success over the last two seasons. Many expected Fisher to stick around and take over the left tackle spot, but with enough tape out there for evaluation and the potential to show off his athletic prowess in the pre-draft process, Fisher made the decision to jump ship early and take his talents to the next level.

Playing in 26 games and having the ability to play in multiple spots along the line only stand to benefit Fisher, and given his level of playing during his brightest moments he can expect to be drafted in the first few rounds. Whether it be at tackle or guard, Fisher should be able to step into a role right away and start at the NFL level.

Notre Dame offensive tackle opts out of bowl game and declares for the NFL draft

Best of luck Blake!

It has become extremely common for players to opt out of bowl games to prepare of the [autotag]NFL draft[/autotag] and for Notre Dame, they have seen it before.

Last year tight end Michael Mayer opted out to get ready to be drafted, and now offensive tackle [autotag]Blake Fisher[/autotag] will follow in his former teammates footsteps with the same decision.

Fisher started his freshman year before suffering a season ending injury, came back and played at a high level over the last two. He is viewed as a right tackle, but could slide over to the left side if needed, giving NFL teams flexibility.

Fisher moving on leaves a hole on the Irish offensive line as they prepare for the Sun Bowl, where both teams will be down multiple players.

Notre Dame-Louisville: Irish offense awful on money down

Money down was anything but money for Notre Dame’s offense.

Notre Dame’s offense has turned into a disaster.

After dominating what were essentially preseason games to start the year, the competition raised and the Irish have been unable to raise their output to meet it.

We can discuss many issues.

Let’s focus instead on perhaps the most important aspect of the offensive game: executing in third and short situations.

If you convert third and short more often than not, you’ll be in good shape.  Just like if you tend to stop your opponent on third down a lot, you’ll likely be happy with how things end.

Success on third-and-short was nowhere to be found for Notre Dame on Saturday.  Let’s take a look.

8 potential Lions draft prospects to watch in CFB Week 4

Here are eight prospects to watch on Saturday, September 23rd with an eye for how they might appeal to the Detroit Lions in the 2024 NFL draft.

College football is moving into conference play around the country. The Detroit Lions will have their collegiate scouts out and about at several games to investigate some potential draft prospects of interest.

There are several games that feature multiple prospects of interest, including two matchups in the Great Lakes region that the Lions staff is confirmed to be credentialed for attending. The prospects here are largely drawn from those matchups.

Five keys for Notre Dame to return to the College Football Playoff in 2023

What are your keys for the Irish to make the CFP?

For many year two head coaches, that’s the season when it all comes together and guess what? [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag]’s [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] is about to start his second full season in South Bend.

The expectations are extremely high, especially considering the Irish finally have a quarterback that can lead them to a title in [autotag]Sam Hartman[/autotag]. The recruiting has seen an uptick in the Freeman era, while player development is also on the same trajectory.

Next is the on-field results and the Irish have an opportunity to return to the College Football Playoff this season, but there are few keys that need to happen for the Irish to play for a title. Find out which five in my eyes are most important.

Notre Dame players named to preseason award watch lists

Will anyone win this year?

It’s the time of year when we start seeing award watch lists come out in anticipation of the college football season. With Notre Dame expected to be highly ranked once again, there are plenty of players who are ripe for watching. Whether or not any of them actually take home any of this hardware is anyone’s guess right now, but they’re at least on the radar of those who know college football best.

In some cases, more than one Notre Dame player is on the watch list for the same award. Also, as different award watch lists come on different days, it can be difficult to keep track of them all. Rest assured, we will be doing just that as these lists continue to come out.

At season’s end, we’ll find out if any of them or maybe somebody different becomes the first national award winner for the Irish since [autotag]Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah[/autotag] won the Butkus Award in 2020:
