Way-too-early Big Ten football 2021 power rankings

We’re peering into a crystal ball to see what B1G football will look like in 2021. Here are our early 2021 Big Ten football power rankings.

We know you’re still going through Ohio State football withdrawal, but we try to provide a little tonic for you during the offseason. Buckeye fans are in a little different spot than most college programs because OSU made it all the way to Miami and didn’t end the season until January 11 (cringe). So, we’re still doing some lookaheads to next year after letting our wounds heal just a bit after what we saw against Alabama.

And on that note, it feels like as good as any time to project out to what the Big Ten will look like next year. I mean, if you get your teeth kicked in, why not go back to the neighborhood where you are the bully, right?

There are so many unknowns with not only Ohio State but all the teams in the conference because we got to see so little football last season as the conference grappled with the COVID-19 pandemic. What we think we know, could look totally different when teams have all offseason to prepare and develop.

Still, we’re giving it our best shot, and we’re a little more comfortable with it than Jim Harbaugh discarding khakis and trying to squeeze into a pair of jeans.

So, here it is, a very, very early look at what the power of the Big Ten could look like in 2021.

Big Ten Football Power Rankings After Week 8

The regular season is now in the books for the Big Ten football season. Here is our latest look at how we power rank the teams after Week 8.

The Big Ten football regular season is over. It was a challenge with several games falling victim of coronavirus outbreaks, but the finish line has been reached. All that’s left now is the ninth “championship week” that will have Ohio State facing Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game, as well as matchups with other teams depending on the standings and who can continue on with football activities.

Now that the regular season is done, we have as good of a snapshot as we can possibly have with where all these teams are, and we’re ready to publish our penultimate Big Ten football power rankings.

Keep in mind that this is not a simple trick of looking at the standings and simply going one through fourteen, but we take into account how teams are playing right now.

So, off we go, here are our Big Ten football Power Rankings for Week 8.

Big Ten football Power Rankings after Week 5

The weekend’s slate of Big Ten football games are complete. Let’s take a look at our adjusted power rankings from what we saw in Week 5.

We are now halfway through the Big Ten season and there’s a definite pecking order to things. Ohio State and Northwestern appear to be on a collision course for the Big Ten Championship game, while teams like Penn State, Michigan State, and Nebraska continue to struggle.

The rest of the league is just beating up on each other with little rhyme or reason as to who will win. Come to think of it, that makes plenty of sense in the year of 2020 that has continued to show us not to take anything for granted.

Each week we take a look at those Big Ten standings and provide you with a power ranking after what we saw on the field. It’s not a chronological list of what the records say, but rather how each team is playing.

Here we go for post Week 5.

Big Ten football 2020 power rankings after conference Week 1

We finally had a week of Big Ten football returning to a field of play near you. Here’s how the power rankings shake out after week one.

Now that we have the Big Ten back in business on the football field, it’s time to take a look at how things line up across the conference, especially now that we have one week under our belt and it’s no longer a guessing game.

We’ll take a look at these each week during the season, but now that we have some games on the field, we’ve already got a bit of a shakeup.

Just like the year 2020, it’ll be a fluid situation, but one we’re excited about because it means we’re actually watching football in the Big Ten as opposed to where we thought we’d be earlier this summer.

So here we go, our Buckeyes Wire Big Ten football power rankings after week one of play.
