Big Ten bowl and College Football Playoff game schedule

Big Ten bowl and College Football Playoff game schedule. #B1G

The 2023 college football regular season is in the books, and, as is tradition, the day after the conference championships is selection Sunday. The College Football Playoff committee has made its final decisions, and many of the bowls have also been written in stone.

Now, whether you agree or disagree with the committee’s decisions, it doesn’t really matter for us Ohio State football fans. Landing a spot in the four-team invitational was highly unlikely. The committee was able to get four conference champions in, which was refreshing, but it is never fun seeing Ohio State’s biggest rival, Michigan, in the big dance, while the Buckeyes are relegated to what is essentially a meaningless exhibition.

Below is a look at the bowl slate for Big Ten teams and College Football Playoff games after the completion of all of the conference championship contests.

Here is every 2022 Big Ten bowl game

The Big Ten bowl schedule is here

Bowl season is officially upon us, and the Big Ten conference will once again be well-represented throughout different matchups.

Wisconsin is headed to Phoenix, Arizona to take on Oklahoma State in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. Who will be available for the two teams is just the first of many questions surrounding the matchup.

For starters, both the Badgers and the Cowboys have had their starting quarterbacks enter the transfer portal this week. It’s anybody’s guess who will be under center on December 27 in The Grand Canyon State.

In total, there are nine Big Ten bowl games. Here are all of them:

A complete look at the Big Ten bowl and College Football Playoff schedule for the upcoming bowl season.

OK. All the hand-wringing and teeth-gnashing can stop — at least from an official standpoint because we now know where all the Big Ten teams will go bowling as well as which four squads will get a crack to win it all in the College Football Playoff.

It took a little while on Sunday because all the buildup was what the CFP rankings were going to be and that had to be debated for three hours by ESPN. But after that, we got the New Year’s Six and other bowl matchups as they trickled out.

All told, nine Big Ten teams are eligible and heading somewhere warm (sometimes indoors out of the cold) for the holidays, and we’ve the entire schedule for you here. For the first time, two of those teams — Ohio State and Michigan — will be in the playoff playing for the ultimate prize.

Here’s the official, locked-in Big Ten bowl and College Football Playoff schedule for 2022-2023.

Full 2022-23 Big Ten bowl game and College Football Playoff schedule

Here is the entire Big Ten bowl schedule for the 2022 season.

The Big Ten officially confirmed a good number of kickoff times for throughout the duration of the 2022 college football season. Nestled in the release was a reminder about the Big Ten’s bowl lineup for the upcoming season that includes eight direct bowl tie-ins and the possibility of more bowl spots for the conference if things go well this season.

The Big Ten will take part in three New Years Day bowl games, which due to the NFL schedule will actually take place on January 2. The crown jewel of the Big Ten’s bowl lineup, of course, is the Rose Bowl Game, which remains in its traditional timeslot while the Sugar Bowl was forced to move to a noon kickoff to avoid a scheduling conflict with the NFL’s Monday Night Football programming. Yes, the Rose Bowl will serve as a leading for Monday Night Football to help ring in 2023.

The Big Ten will remain a part of the new year tradition with spots in the Tampa Bay Bowl and the Citrus Bowl in addition to the Rose Bowl.

Each of the Big Ten’s bowl games will be played after Christmas, although the possibility of a surplus of bowl teams could allow for a Big Ten team to play prior to Christmas if a bowl is in need of filling a spot.

The College Football Playoff is also once again playing its national semifinal games on New Year’s Eve, on Saturday, Dec. 31. This year’s playoff games will be held in the Peach Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl. The College Football Playoff national championship game is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 9 to bring a close to another season of college football.

Which of these bowl games will Penn State be playing in? We’ll have to wait and see. For now, here is the full Big Ten bowl lineup, plus the playoff schedule.

Complete 2021-2022 Big Ten bowl schedule

Here’s where all the Big Ten teams are going bowling this holiday season, complete with venues, matchups, and game times.

After speculating and predicting, then tearing it all up and doing the same week after week, we finally know where every Big Ten team will go bowling, Ohio State included.

All told there are nine teams from the conference that made it into the postseason. Three of those teams are in a New Year’s Six bowl game, with one of those making the College Football Playoff (Michigan). It was a fantastic year again in the heartland, and now we get to sit back and begin watching bowl games.

It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year. And don’t come at me with there being too many bowl games. How can you argue with more American football coming to you on your television set or streaming device near you?

For the Big Ten, the first matchup occurs on December 28 with the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, and the last one begins on January 1 with Ohio State in the “Granddaddy of them all.” The games for the conference will go as far as Michigan’s plight takes it in the CFP.

Here’s the complete Big Ten bowl schedule for 2021-2022. Get ready for tree trimming, champagne, and football through the holiday season.
