50 photos from the Panthers’ trip to Super Bowl 50

The most magical season in Carolina Panthers history did not finish off with a storybook ending. Nevertheless, the memories—both fond and painful—will continue to live on.

As we get closer to tonight’s big game, let’s take a trip down memory lane for 50 of the best images from Super Bowl 50.

38 photos from the Panthers’ trip to Super Bowl XXXVIII

One of the greatest Super Bowls in history took place 20 years ago. But unfortunately for the Carolina Panthers, it didn’t end with the franchise’s first Lombardi Trophy.

As we get ready for the biggest game of the year, let’s look back at the best shots from Super Bowl XXXVIII:

5 Super Bowl halftime performers we’d like to see someday, including Taylor Swift

Our list of Super Bowl halftime show performers we’re hoping take the stage at some point.

With Usher set to take the stage for the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show in Las Vegas on Sunday, it’s worth looking at the musical acts we’d love to see in the future.

Ranging from pop stars to throwback specials, we’ve picked five halftime show ideas that would have us very intrigued to tune in during the game break.

While one of these picks is obviously one of the most popular halftime show performances people hope to see (we’ll let you guess), all of these would be great picks to entertain us on Super Bowl Sunday.

30 incredible albums that didn’t win Album of the Year at the Grammys, including Beyoncé’s Lemonade

So many incredible albums didn’t win Album of the Year at the Grammys.

The Grammys have long earned plenty of flak for how it awards its pool of music talent with no category generating as much confusion as Album of the Year.

Taylor Swift’s fourth win in the category on Sunday night for Midnights reignited the conversation (at no fault of Swift’s), as yet another album award for a pop titan like Swift or Adele meant yet another deserving artist with a critically acclaimed album was left without the honor.

You think back to when Swift’s album 1989 topped Kendrick Lamar’s historic To Pimp a Butterfly in 2016, which is widely regarded as one of the best albums in recent memory. It’s not that 1989 wasn’t deserving as much as To Pimp a Butterfly is one of those artistic achievements that stands alone.

Heck, generational music icon Beyoncé has actually never won in the category, which her husband and fellow icon Jay-Z astutely pointed out at Sunday’s ceremony. That still doesn’t feel real.

That’s always been the problem with the Recording Academy: While it has awarded plenty of talented musicians over the years, it’s always out of step with the culture and the daring, forward-thinking pieces of art that wind up defining their times. It’s usually way past due when an artist like Beyoncé finally wins in the category, if at all.

We’ve gone through the history of the awards show to find 30 albums that didn’t get recognized in the category (including perhaps Swift’s biggest risk of an album, fascinatingly enough). Some of these ignored albums will absolutely shock you.

Jay-Z called out the Grammys for never awarding Beyoncé the Best Album honor during speech

Jay-Z wasn’t afraid to call the Grammys out for never awarding Beyoncé the Best Album award.

One of the strangest snubs in Grammys history has been music sensation Beyoncé never winning Best Album at the awards show.

While accepting a special honor for Global Impact from the Grammys on Sunday night with his daughter Blue Ivy Carter at his side, rap legend Jay-Z called out the Recording Academy for never recognizing Beyoncé in its biggest category despite making some of the definitive albums of the past decade-plus.

Everyone with a rooting interest in the Grammys has openly wondered the same thing, and her husband Jay-Z made sure to make that question known while accepting this career honor during this year’s ceremony.

It’s a very fair thing to mention!

Award shows like the Grammys are fundamentally flawed when trying to parse through the breadth of music, and rarely does the Recording Academy ever “get it right” with its top honors. However, Beyoncé’s impact on the art form will always extend far, far past an awards show like this.

We’re hoping Beyoncé will take home the Best Album honor one of these days, and we’re very much with Jay-Z that it should’ve happened already.

Beyoncé shines at Renaissance tour film London premiere with stars like Taylor Swift in attendance

It’s a dazzling red carpet affair.

Beyoncé is taking center stage tonight in London with the premiere of RENAISSANCE: A Film by Beyoncé. The music goddess toured from May until October 2023, and spanned cities across Europe and the United States. With an estimated $560 million grossed, the Renaissance World Tour is one of — if not the most — successful tours for a female artist.

Much like Taylor Swift with her Eras Tour movie, Beyoncé is bringing the concert experience to fans in the comfort of a theater. The movie debuted in Beverly Hills, California on November 25, and took the party to the United Kingdom.

Beyoncé stunned with a sequined jacket over a bodysuit and hit the red carpet with daughter Blue Ivy.

Swift was in attendance in a sparkly silver dress, much like Beyoncé showed support for the Eras Tour movie premiere last month. Unsurprisingly, the stars were out on the red carpet in support of RENAISSANCE: A Film by Beyoncé,

If Taylor Swift is flying to London for Beyoncé’s movie premiere, will she be back for Travis Kelce’s Chiefs game?

Does this mean Taylor Swift will miss Sunday’s Chiefs and Packers game?

Taylor Swift fans are once again tracking her flights, and it’s setting up to be a really interesting weekend of travel for the singer/songwriter.

The international premiere of Beyonce’s Renaissance tour movie is on Thursday, and just as the superstar singer attended Swift’s Eras Tour movie premiere, it looks like Swift is returning the favor.

That’s awesome and wonderful and, if true, we can’t wait to see the photos.

But will Swift be back in time for Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs game in Green Bay?

We’ll see. But with a private jet, Swift can go to London, hang out for a day or two and still fly back in time for a game that’s on Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. Eastern. No problem!

Panthers fans react to David Tepper’s brief press conference on Tuesday

It seems as though Panthers fans would rather watch a winning football team in their stadium instead of Beyoncé or Lionel Messi.

For the second straight year, Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper had to hold a press conference to address the in-season firing of his head coach. And also for the second straight year, he wasn’t exactly impressive in doing so.

Here are some of the fans’ reactions to Tuesday’s painfully brief presser:

Taylor Swift stuns on the red carpet as stars like Beyoncé joins the film festivities.

Taylor Swift took to the red carpet in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening as her new movie version of her incredibly popular Eras Tour made its debut. The movie — which has broken the $100 million mark in pre-sales — releases everywhere October 13 and already has a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour takes viewers through two hours and 48 minutes of the performances of the tour, which will hit the road again November 9 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Unsurprisingly, it was a star-studded affair as celebrities like Mariska Hargitay (Law & Order: SVU) and Simu Liu (Barbie) as well as singers Maren Morris attended the premiere. The iconic Beyoncé was also there for the festivities, looking stunning with the movie’s leading lady before the viewing.

Here are some of the best sights from the premiere.

A’ja Wilson is cementing herself as a legend, winning back-to-back WNBA Defensive POY

A’ja Wilson cannot be stopped!

In the words of Beyoncé, Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson is forever that girl. The reigning WNBA MVP has earned back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) awards.

It’s not every day that you watch history being made, but Wilson seemingly rewrites the books regularly.

As just 27 years old, she’s got enough hardware for a lifetime. Wilson is an Olympic gold medalist, a WNBA champion, a two-time MVP, a five-time All-Star, a two-time WNBA All-Defensive First Team selection and has multiple DPOY awards.

This year, she led the league in blocks (89), averaging a career-high 2.23 blocks per game. Rounding out her impressive season, Wilson also averaged 22.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals a game. If that wasn’t enough, she had one of the most outstanding basketball performances ever as she casually dropped 53 points against the Atlanta Dream. Unreal.

Hello, Alien Superstar.

Wilson’s teammate and fellow All-Star, Kelsey Plum, thinks she deserves more respect.

“You name it, she’s done it,” Plum said recently on Showtime’s All The Smoke podcast. “She gets shorted all the time.”

Truth be told, what Wilson is doing is otherworldly. She is a living legend and a fantastic representation of the WNBA’s talent. Fans everywhere get fireworks every time she touches the court.

Keep shining, A’ja. The world deserves to see you glow.
