Dylan Parham injury update

Parham was still limited, but the fact that he’s practicing at all opens up the possibility he could return after missing the past two weeks. He was replaced by Jordan Meredith and that would continue if he is not healthy enough to return this week.

Robert Spillane injury update

Spillane missed another practice as he deals with the knee injury he sustained early in the team’s loss over the Chiefs last Sunday. He played the remainder of the game and head coach Antonio Pierce insisted he won’t miss any time.

Zamir White injury update

White was downgraded to missing practice Thursday, putting his status in doubt for the game.

Harrison Bryant injury update

Bryant returned to practice for the first time since injuring his elbow two weeks ago against the Rams. He was Questionable last week despite not practicing all week, so his return Wednesday would seem to open up the possibility that he plays this week.

Bengals explain Joe Burrow’s new injury on Week 7 injury report

Joe Burrow has a new injury on the report — here’s why.

Ahead of the Week 7 game against the Cleveland Browns, the Cincinnati Bengals appeared healthier than they have all season on midweek injury reports.

But the big exception was massive—Joe Burrow appeared with a new injury.

Burrow’s name had commonly been on the injury report this season with a “wrist’ designation despite full practices. It was the team likely just being extra careful after that whole unfounded NFL investigation from last year.

Anyway, Burrow appeared on the midweek report with a “shin” injury.

According to Bengals coach Zac Taylor on Friday, via CLNS Media’s Mike Petraglia, there’s “no issue,” and Burrow was merely sore.

So, for the most part, good news on the Burrow front. That said, some fans surely raised an eyebrow at this, considering “soreness” eventually morphed into the season-derailing non-contact calf injury in training camp last year.

Still, Burrow and the Bengals have blatantly learned from that mishap, as they’ve said multiple times. As Petraglia later reported, Burrow wasn’t wearing anything of note on his shins during Friday’s practice.

Sheldon Rankins, Chase Brown headline Bengals injury updates for Week 6

The Bengals get several bits of good news with injury updates before Week 6 vs. Giants.

The Cincinnati Bengals continue to inch closer to full health ahead of the Week 6 primetime showdown against the New York Giants.

After a sudden appearance on the injury report earlier in the week, running back Chase Brown will play against the Giants, confirmed by head coach Zac Taylor.

The long-awaited return of defensive lineman Sheldon Rankins will happen on Sunday night in New York, too.

Other than the season-ending injury to cornerback Dax Hill, the Bengals are mostly in great injury shape. That’s especially critical for the defense, which continues to struggle and derail a borderline MVP showing from Joe Burrow.

Trey Hendrickson already making notable progress after scary-looking injury

The Bengals edge rusher is already on the way back.

As expected, the Cincinnati Bengals continue to deal with key injuries ahead of the team’s Week  5 showdown with the Baltimore Ravens.

Earlier in the week, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor wasn’t willing to comment on the outlook for injured star Trey Hendrickson.

A report about Hendrickson’s injury, though, suggested the edge rusher avoided a serious injury.

Fast forward to Wednesday’s practice, Hendrickson was out there working with his teammates. Before the practice sessions, Taylor made it very clear that his best overall defensive player wouldn’t need to practice this week to actually play against the Ravens, anyway.

So, no matter what the injury report says, early signs are good on the Hendrickson front.

Not only that, the Bengals made a couple of critical roster moves with other defenders coming back from injury. That might not equate to immediate help against Derrick Henry and a dominant Ravens running game, but help is on the way in the coming weeks.

Trey Hendrickson, Sheldon Rankins updates on Bengals final injury report

The final Bengals injury report for Week 4 includes some big names.

The Cincinnati Bengals can’t escape listing big names on the injury report early this season—and that’s especially the case going into Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers.

Those Bengals started the week off by unexpectedly adding Ja’Marr Chase to the injury report.

Chase’s status later improved in the middle of the week, though, with the final injury report on Friday shaking out like so:

  • S Anthony Daijahn — Questionable
  • DT BJ Hill — Out
  • TE Tanner Hudson — Questionable
  • DT Sheldon Rankins — Out

Star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson was out the first two days of the week due to an illness. Like Chase, he’s not even listed on the final report and good to go.

Both Sheldon Rankins and B.J. Hill, in the heart of the defense, also missed the first two days of the week, with Bengals head coach Zac Taylor implying that Hill is closer to a return than Rankins.

Beyond needing multiple names to step up in the middle of the defensive line, the Bengals will also start first-rounder Amarius Mims at right tackle with Trent Brown lost for the season.

Bengals final injury report vs. Commanders leaves big questions for kickoff

The final Bengals injury report cleared the status of Tee Higgins but left big questions about others.

The final injury report for the Cincinnati Bengals ahead of the primetime showdown against the Washington Commanders answered some questions about key names such as Tee Higgins and Sheldon Rankins.

Others, not so much.

According to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor told reporters on Saturday that wideout Tee Higgins would make his return from the hamstring injury that cost him the first two games of the season.

Taylor also ruled out defensive lineman Sheldon Rankins, meaning the defense will likely need to start backups on the interior while also relying on ends to kick inside to help.

Also on the interior, B.J. Hill sounds like a game-time decision after he also suffered a hamstring injury last week. Rookie Kris Jenkins Jr. will play with  a club on the hand recovering from thumb surgery, though how many snaps he sees will be a point to watch.

Not as clear, though, is the playing status of safety Vonn Bell, who suffered a back injury this week during practice. Jordan Battle would be the first man up in place of the veteran who has played 99 percent of the snaps so far.

Bengals need breakout players vs. Chiefs after 4 listed as doubtful

The Bengals need some serious help to beat the Chiefs.

The Cincinnati Bengals won’t have some key players in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Facing an 0-2 hole on the road, the Bengals listed the following players as doubtful on the final injury report:

  • Tee Higgins
  • Tanner Hudson
  • Amarius Mims
  • Kris Jenkins

By far the most concerning is Higgins, whose latest hamstring injury popped up during the final prep for Week 1. That was a big reason Joe Burrow’s offense struggled so much in the loss to New England.

While Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase figure to have a better connection against the Chiefs, the lack of production for the likes of Andrei Iosivas suggests the team might want to take a look at rookie Jermaine Burton a good amount. That, despite some of his reported issues this summer.

At offensive tackle, the Bengals will need a much better game from veteran Trent Brown with the first-rounder Mims still on his way back from the pec injury.

The rookie Jenkins is a big loss too, considering fellow rookie McKinnley Jackson is on injured reserve. That leaves Jay Tufele and Zach Carter as the primary guys tasked with big depth roles as the team attempts to replace DJ Reader.

And at tight end, Hudson’s absence isn’t a big ordeal because it might be the strongest spot on the roster. Rookie Erick All earned himself a serious look in the preseason and Mike Gesicki is still finding his footing as the top guy on the depth chart.

Bengals’ star defender joins injury report ahead of Week 2 vs. Chiefs

Another big name joined the Bengals injury report before Week 2.

The Cincinnati Bengals injury report for Week 2 was already a point of stress for fans, given the sudden hamstring woes of star wideout Tee Higgins.

The last thing fans wanted, then, was a star defender joining the list too.

Unfortunately, that’s what the Bengals provided on the first injury report of the week, listing linebacker Logan Wilson as a “DNP” due to a knee injury.

Notably, Wilson didn’t work on the rehab field either, so it could just qualify as a light day for a veteran, but that’s at least a little strange for the second week of the season and something to monitor.

Elsewhere on the report, Higgins didn’t practice due to the hamstring injury and neither did tight end Tanner Hudson and rookie defensive tackle Kris Jenkins. First-rounder Amarius Mims went limited as he works his way back from the untimely pec injury.

Tee Higgins injury update for Week 2 ahead of showdown vs. Chiefs

An injury update on Bengals WR Tee Higgins.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins has been the focal point of the team’s injury list all week before the showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ahead of the first injury report of the week, Higgins didn’t practice on Wednesday.

Higgins had a sudden hamstring injury that caused him to outright miss the Week 1 loss against the New England Patriots. That, after a normal summer where he appeared on track for a big franchise-tagged season.

After the loss to the Patriots, an NFL insider reported that things didn’t look good for Higgins’ status against the Chiefs.

That certainly tracked with Higgins’ past injury history, which has been marred with hamstring issues since he entered the league.

Higgins’ absence, combined with obvious rust from Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, played a big role in the putrid 10-point showing in an upset loss at home. If Higgins can’t play in Kansas City, the Bengals will be heavily counting on those issues being fixed, as well as big showings from the likes of Andrei Iosivas and tight end Mike Gesicki.
