Former Clemson wide receiver declares for the 2025 NFL draft

Collins declares for the 2025 NFL draft.

Former Clemson wide receiver Beaux Collins officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday. Collins, who transferred to Notre Dame for the 2024 season, announced his decision on social media.

“Thank you to all the alumni and fans that are a part of the Irish family,” Collins wrote. “The past 4 years have been incredibly life changing and has led me to say that I’m looking forward to entering the 2025 NFL Draft!!!”

Collins wrapped up his college career with a solid performance in the College Football Playoff National Championship, catching four passes for 32 yards in Notre Dame’s 34-23 loss to Ohio State. Despite dealing with a calf injury, he suited up for the title game and contributed to the Irish offense.
During his lone season at Notre Dame, Collins ranked third on the team in receptions (41) and second in receiving yards (490). He also tied for second in touchdown catches, including a key 13-yard score in the Irish’s Sugar Bowl win over Georgia in the CFP Quarterfinal.

Collins began his collegiate career at Clemson, where he made an early impact. Over three seasons (2021-23), he recorded 91 receptions for 1,290 yards and 11 touchdowns in 32 games. As a freshman, he posted 31 catches for 407 yards and three touchdowns, joining an exclusive list of standout Clemson freshmen.

Notre Dame vs. Ohio State: Fourth-Quarter Analysis

So close, and yet, so far.

For a fleeting moment, Notre Dame still had a chance in the College Football Playoff title game. In a season where the amazing has happened repeatedly, why not one more such occurrence?

We’ll never know the events that occurred in another universe, but in this one, Ohio State is the national champion after beating the Irish, 34-23.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Emeka Egbuka was on his way to a long reception, but [autotag]Drayk Bowen[/autotag] knocked the ball out of his clutches, and [autotag]Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa[/autotag] recovered it. Suddenly, the Irish had the ball in a 31-15 game.

[autotag]Riley Leonard[/autotag] completed a 30-yard pass to [autotag]Jaden Greathouse[/autotag], and a couple of defensive holding calls against the Buckeyes set the Irish up with a first-and-goal. Three plays went nowhere, and instead of going for it on fourth down like most teams in such a situation should, the Irish opted to send [autotag]Mitch Jeter[/autotag] out for a 27-yard field-goal attempt. The kick doinked off the left upright, and the chance for points off turnovers was gone.

The Irish’s defense then forced the first Buckeyes punt of the game, and the offense badly needed points to still have a chance. It got them when Leonard fired another 30-yard pass to Greathouse, this time with Greathouse making a great catch in the end zone. Leonard then flipped the ball to [autotag]Jordan Faison[/autotag], who fired to [autotag]Beaux Collins[/autotag] to complete the two-point conversion and make it a one-score game.

Again, the Irish placed the Buckeyes’ offense in a tough spot, third-and-11 to be exact at their own 34-yard line. But that’s when Will Howard decided to air it out and fire a 56-yard pass to an open Jeremiah Smith, who caught the ball before being stopped at the Irish’s 10. Any real hope the Irish had was snuffed out on a play that Buckeyes fans will reminisce about forever.

The Buckeyes ran the ball a few times, milked the clock, and the matter officially was put to rest with a Jayden Fielding 33-yard field goal with 26 seconds left. The Irish were left to wonder what could have been, and the party in Columbus was underway.

Watch Jaden Greathouse get a second touchdown to keep Notre Dame alive vs. Ohio State

Notre Dame isn’t dead yet.

Notre Dame is not going down without a fight.

The Fighting Irish are hanging in there versus the Ohio State Buckeyes thanks to a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback [autotag]Riley Leonard[/autotag] to wide receiver [autotag]Jaden Greathouse[/autotag].

The pass capped off a 6-play, 80-yard touchdown that took 2:10.

It’s Greathouse’s second touchdown tonight.

Wide receiver [autotag]Jordan Faison[/autotag] then passed the ball to fellow receiver [autotag]Beaux Collins[/autotag] on a trick play for the two-point conversion to bring the Irish within 8.

Notre Dame vs. Ohio State injury report shows clean bill of health for Fighting Irish

Notre Dame says all student-athletes on the two-deep are available for the national championship game.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have no injury report surprises ahead of the national championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

According to the team, all student-athletes listed on the two-deep depth chart are available.

That means that [autotag]Beaux Collins[/autotag] and [autotag]Jeremiyah Love[/autotag] should be good to go. Offensive lineman [autotag]Rocco Spindler[/autotag], too.

Of course, some players like [autotag]Rylie Mills[/autotag] and [autotag]Anthonie Knapp[/autotag] are done for the season. Notre Dame has been hit by the injury bug, but yet the Irish have still advanced this far.

Notre Dame vs. Georgia: Second-Quarter Analysis

The Irish came alive late.

If you love defensive struggles, the second quarter of the Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and Georgia was much like the first. The only difference points actually were scored. Fortunately for the Irish, they scored far more and hold a 13-3 halftime lead.

Big offensive plays by both teams resulted in nothing more than field goals on their first full possessions of the quarter. For a while after that, nothing else of consequence happened.

The Irish then had a nice drive near the end of the first half that allowed [autotag]Mitch Jeter[/autotag] to kick the go-ahead 48-yard field goal.

Just when it seemed the Irish would take a 6-3 lead into the locker room, [autotag]RJ Oben[/autotag] sacked Gunner Stockton, who coughed the ball up to [autotag]Junior Tuihalamaka[/autotag]. On the very next play, [autotag]Riley Leonard[/autotag] hit [autotag]Beaux Collins[/autotag] for the game’s first touchdown from 13 yards out.

Either team can win, at least at this stage in the contest. All that matters for these teams is surviving this game and moving onto the Orange Bowl against Penn State. Both sides have 30 minutes to prove they deserve that privilege, but the question is whether the winner deserves to play beyond that.

Notre Dame football gets geared up for the College Football Playoff

Notre Dame football players got some holiday gifts early, courtesy of Under Armour.

‘Tis the season of giving.

The Notre Dame football team got a few official gifts from Under Armour in advance of its first-round College Football Playoff game.

The No. 3 Fighting Irish posted a video of linebacker [autotag]Jaiden Ausberry[/autotag] and wide receiver [autotag]Beaux Collins[/autotag] opening a box of swag, sent to each player, from Under Armour.

The first goodie is a hoodie with “God, Country, Notre Dame” printed on front and the years of each Notre Dame football national championship printed on the back.

Next are gold-painted sneakers, and they’re followed by some slick sunglasses.

After that come two T-shirts — a plain white T and a shirt commemorating the playoff appearance.

The finishing touch is a letter from Under Armour’s boss wishing the Irish luck in the CFP.

You can see the whole thing here.

Notre Dame statistical leaders through 11 games

Who leads the Irish heading into the final regular-season contest?

Notre Dame has its fate in its own hands for the College Football Playoff. All it needs to do is defeat USC, and a first-round game at Notre Dame Stadium appears to be a certainty. Who would have thought the Irish would be in such a good position after the loss to Northern Illinois threatened to derail their season early?

The Irish can’t afford to get complacent though. The Trojans have not had a great season, but dealing the Irish a loss that could threaten their playoff chances would make up for everything that has gone wrong for them. That’s why the Irish will need to prepare for them like they would for any ranked team, and the talent they have should allow them to emerge victorious.

Here are the major statistical leaders the Irish are taking into their regular-season finale. Not all of them will be available, but they’re fun to see nonetheless:

Notre Dame Week 9 highlight: Riley Leonard finds Beaux Collins for 37-yard touchdown

Notre Dame gets an explosive catch from Beaux Collins

No. 12 Notre Dame has responded after No. 24 used an efficient drive to cut into the Fighting Irish’s lead.

Notre Dame led 31-7 before Navy got a score on an Eli Heidenreich 1-yard touchdown run.

The Fighting Irish responded with a 7-play, 75-yard touchdown drive that ended when wide receiver Beaux Collins caught a 37-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Riley Leonard.

The drive burned 3:09 off of the clock.

Notre Dame statistical leaders through four games

Who’s on the board going into the next game?

The great thing about Notre Dame’s dominant win over Miami (Ohio) is that a few more players got a chance to shine. Consequently, we have a few new names popping up in our weekly statistical leaders listicle heading into the game against Louisville. That should force the Cardinals to be a little more aware of the players they’ll be going up against.

This goes without saying, but the Irish always can benefit from new players appearing in these categories. It highlights just how deep the team’s talent is, and anyone can step in at any point. It might take some players longer to crack the leaders lists than others, but that’s the beauty of a regular season that runs through the end of November.

So who are the players standing out the most going into the Irish’s last game before their first bye week? Take a look for yourself here:

Social media reacts to Riley Leonard first touchdown pass of 2024

Ladies and gentlemen, it happened.

Notre Dame fans understandably were getting impatient with [autotag]Riley Leonard[/autotag]. How could the man who was brought in to hold the fort down at quarterback for such a prestigious program not have a single touchdown pass almost three-and-a-half games into the season? Such a thing would be unacceptable even for a homegrown quarterback on a blue blood.

Leonard’s first touchdown pass for the Irish had to happen at some point though, and Miami (Ohio) was a perfect team against which it could happen. We finally can say it has come to pass.

After the Irish’s defense forced a three-and-out, the offense took over and started rattling off bigger plays than they had when Leonard ran for a touchdown to end its previous drive. Leonard opened it up more this time around, and it paid off. He hit leading Irish receiver [autotag]Beaux Collins[/autotag] for a 38-yard touchdown, his longest throw of the season, to put the Irish up, 14-3, a score that would hold going into halftime:
