BC Lions at Saskatchewan Roughriders odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s BC Lions at Saskatchewan Roughriders Week 19 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The BC Lions (8-8) and Saskatchewan Roughriders (8-7-1) meet Saturday. Kickoff from Mosaic Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (CFL+/TSN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Lions vs. Roughriders odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Lions are coming off a cover as 7-point favorites in a 32-15 win over the visiting Calgary Stampeders Oct. 4 with the Under (54) hitting. BC can finish 2nd in the West Division by winning its final 2 regular-season games.

The Roughriders covered as 3-point favorites with a 28-24 victory at the Edmonton Elks Oct. 5 as the Over (51) cashed. Saskatchewan would clinch a top-2 finish in the West with a win Saturday and would still have an outside shot at overtaking the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the division title.

In a July 13 meeting, the Lions beat the Roughriders 35-20 as 7-point home favorites as the Over (51) hit. However, Lions QB Vernon Adams Jr. and Roughriders QB Shea Patterson were the signal-callers, instead of BC QB Nathan Rourke and Saskatchewan QB Trevor Harris, who will start Saturday.

Lions at Roughriders picks and predictions

Prediction

Lions 32, Roughriders 22

Moneyline

BC has won 5 of the last 7 meetings between these teams, with Rourke going 2-0 against Saskatchewan in his 2 starts over that span.

The Lions are 3-2 in their last 5 games overall and could’ve been 4-1 if it weren’t for an unlikely meltdown against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Sept. 27 — Hamilton won 32-29 in OT after trailing by 15 in the 4th quarter.

Saskatchewan is on a 3-game winning streak, but those victories were against inferior competition (the Calgary Stampeders, Ottawa Redblacks and Edmonton Elks). In an important game for playoff seeding vs. BC, the Roughriders may look like a completely different team.

BET LIONS (+100).

Against the spread

I’m not against taking the points, but I prefer getting even money on BC ML.

PASS. Bet the ML and/or total instead.

Over/Under

The Over has hit in the last 3 meetings, and both teams put up 28-plus points in their Week 18 games. The Lions have scored 32 or more points in 3 of their last 5 games, and the Roughriders have put up 28 or more in 3 straight.

Calgary Stampeders at BC Lions odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Calgary Stampeders at BC Lions Week 18 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Calgary Stampeders (4-9-1) and BC Lions (7-8) meet for a Week 18 matchup Friday at BC Place. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (TSN/CFL+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Stampeders vs. Lions odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Stampeders are winless in the past 6 games, going 0-5-1 straight up (SU), with a lone tie in Week 15 against Montreal as the only bright spot. Calgary cashed as a 6-point underdog against the defending champs at home. It is coming off a bye, last playing at home in a 37-29 loss to Saskatchewan in Week 16.

The Stamps are also 1-5 against the spread (ATS) in the past 6 outings, while the Over is 6-1 across the past 7 games.

These teams last played in Calgary, with the Stamps eking out a 25-24 win as 4.5-point underdogs as the Under (53.5) connected in Week 7. In the most recent meeting in Vancouver, the Lions posted a 26-17 win as an 8-point favorite as the Under (51) cashed.

BC suffered a 32-29 OT loss at home against Hamilton last time out, falling outright as a 7-point favorite as the Over (54.5) cashed. The Lions are 1-6 SU/ATS in the past 7 games as favorites. The Under is 6-3 across the past 9 games.

Stampeders at Lions odds

Stampeders at Lions picks and predictions

Prediction

Lions 26, Stampeders 22

Moneyline

The Lions (-375) will cost you nearly 4 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not enough reward, especially since they’ve won just twice in the previous 9 outings.

For the Lions (+290), the risk is great, too, as they’re 0-5-1 SU across the past 6 outings.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

CALGARY +7.5 (-110) is a strong play catching the points. The Stamps are just 1-4 ATS in the past 5 games as underdogs, but the Lions -7.5 (-110) are just 2-7 ATS in the previous 9 contests, and they cannot be trusted.

The Lions are 5-2 SU/ATS in the past 7 meetings in this series, and 7-3 SU/ATS across the past 10 battles.

Over/Under

UNDER 53.5 (-115) is worth a look in this Western battle.

While the Over has cashed in 6 of the past 7 games for the Stamps, the Under has hit in each of the 2 encounters with the Lions this season.

The total has gone low in 6 of the past 9 games for the Lions, while going 9-5 in the previous 14 outings.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats at BC Lions odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats at BC Lions Week 17 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (5-9) and the BC Lions (7-7) meet for a Week 17 matchup Friday at BC Place. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (TSN/CFL+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Tiger-Cats vs. Lions odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Ti-Cats have turned things around after a 2-9 start, winning 3 in a row, while covering each of the previous 4 outings. All 3 of the victories have come as underdogs, too, including a 33-31 win at Toronto as 6.5-point ‘dogs Sept. 20.

The Over has cashed in 3 straight for the Ti-Cats, who put up 31 or more points in each game of the span. The total has gone high in 5 of their past 6 games.

The Lions are coming off a bye week. Their last outing was a disappointing 33-17 home loss to Toronto as 4.5-point favorites, halting a modest 2-game win streak. The offense had gone for 37 or more points in the previous 2 games before the loss, so perhaps the rest will help bring that production back.

These teams met in The Hammer back on July 7 with BC coming away with a 44-28 win as a 5.5-point favorite as the Over (53.5) cashed.

Tiger-Cats at Lions picks and predictions

Prediction

Tiger-Cats 34, Lions 29

Moneyline

If you’re a little more on the adventurous side, the TIGER-CATS (+280) are worth a roll of the dice for the chance to nearly triple up.

Hamilton arrives in Vancouver on a serious roll, winning 3 in a row, while going for an average of 33.7 PPG in the impressive offensive span. The defense hasn’t been as good, coughing up 26.7 PPG, so it will be a worry all night.

However, BC just cannot be trusted, especially at this high -350 price. While the Lions beat the Ti-Cats back in Week 5, that’s like a season ago.

BC, which has had injury problems, is slowly getting healthier, and the bye week should help. However, the Lions are still 2-6 SU and ATS across the past 8 games. Trust the hotter team — the Tiger-Cats are 6-3 ATS in their last 9.

Against the spread

The TIGER-CATS +7 (-110) are a much safer play catching the points. Again, Hamilton is on a 4-0 ATS run, while BC is just 2-6 ATS in the previous 8 outings.

The fact that Hollis is out for the Lions is a big loss, too. He is 2nd on the team with 56 receptions, 881 yards and 5 TDs through 13 games.

Over/Under

OVER 53.5 (-110) might be the best play on the board in this cross-country matchup.

The O/U has split in the past 4 games for BC, but we did get 72 combined points in the 1st matchup back in July with a total of just 53.5.

For Hamilton, the Over has cashed in 3 in a row, 5 of the past 6 and 9 of the previous 13 outings. Look for plenty of points at BC Place.

Toronto Argonauts at BC Lions odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Toronto Argonauts at BC Lions odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Toronto Argonauts (6-6) and BC Lions (7-6) meet Friday at BC Place. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (CBSSN/TSN/CFL+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Argonauts vs. Lions odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Argonauts have dropped the past 2 games despite a solid offensive performance. Toronto is averaging 27.5 points per game (PPG) in the 2 losses, but it is allowing 36.0 PPG. The Over has easily cashed in both outings.

Toronto has failed to cover the past 3 games, while going a dismal 3-8 against the spread (ATS) in the past 11 outings. The Over is 4-1 in the past 5 games.

For BC, it is looking to avenge a 35-27 loss in the opener at Toronto when it was a 4-point favorite. The Over (48) comfortably cashed in that game.

After a 5-game losing streak due to a bevy of injuries, the Lions have re-discovered the offense, averaging 37.5 PPG in the past 2 games, while allowing just 17.5 PPG. They’ve covered both outings after an 0-5 ATS skid, while the Over and Under have alternated in the past 4 games.

Argonauts at Lions picks and predictions

Prediction

Lions 34, Argonauts 23

Moneyline

BC (-225) will set you back more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s just too much risk and not enough reward for a standalone bet. While it’s not highly recommended, if you folded the Lions into a multi-leg parlay, it isn’t the end of the world, although it does suck a little value out of your ticket.

PASS.

Against the spread

Back the LIONS -4.5 (-110) in this revenge game. The Lions were manhandled in Week 1 at Toronto, and they’ll be looking to even the score.

The Lions are getting healthy, and playing well lately, while the Argos have key players littering the injury report.

Over/Under

OVER 52.5 (-110) is a solid play in this Week 15 matchup.

These teams combined for 62 points on a total of 48 in the opener, and plenty of points can be expected in the rematch.

The Over is 2-1 in the past 3 games for BC, while it has scored 27 or more points in 3 straight, while allowing 23 or more points in 5 of the past 7 outings.

For Toronto, it has hit the Over in 2 in a row, and 4 of the past 5 outings, while scoring 23 or more points in 4 of the 5 games, while allowing 25 or more points in 4 of the past 5 outings, too.

BC Lions at Montreal Alouettes odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s BC Lions at Montreal Alouettes Week 14 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Week 14 CFL schedule kicks off Friday with the BC Lions (6-6) on the road to face the Montreal Alouettes (10-1). Kickoff from Percival Molson Memorial Stadium is at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Lions vs. Alouettes odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Lions have been streaky. After a 4-game winning streak earlier this season, they lost 5 games in a row. That streak ended last week when they beat the Ottawa Redback 38-12 sat home, covering the 3-point spread as favorites while the Under (51.5) cashed in. They are tied for 1st place in the West Division with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The East Division-leading Alouettes have won 5 straight games for the 2nd time this season. They are coming off a 21-17 home win over the Edmonton Elks, failing to cover the 7-point spread as favorites. The Under (51) cashed in.

Lions at Alouettes picks and predictions

Prediction

Alouettes 27, Lions 20

Moneyline

The Alouettes have been red hot and the Lions barely snapped a 5-game losing streak. Montreal is 5-1 at home while BC is 2-5 on the road.

The Lions don’t have a win against a team over .500 currently.

The Alouettes should win. but at -182 odds, it isn’t worth the action.

PASS.

Against the spread

The Lions failed to cover the spread in any of their losses in their losing streak.

The Alouettes are 4-1 ATS in their 5-game winning streak. Eight of their last 9 wins have been by 4 or more points.

BET ALOUETTES -3.5 (-112).

Over/Under

Only 1 of the Lions’ last 6 games have had more than 50 total points while 5 of the Alouettes’ last 10 games have surpassed 50 total points.

BET UNDER 50.5 (-105).

Ottawa Redblacks vs. BC Lions odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Ottawa Redblacks vs. BC Lions Week 13 odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Ottawa Redblacks (7-2-1) and BC Lions (5-6) meet in Victoria, British Columbia, for the Touchdown Pacific matchup at Royal Athletic Park Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network/TSN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Redblacks vs. Lions odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

These teams met Aug. 24 in Ottawa. The Redblacks covered as 1-point favorites in a 34-27 win with the Over (49) hitting. Ottawa trailed by as many as 8 points in the 1st half, but outscored the Lions 22-10 in the 2nd for its 6th consecutive undefeated outing (5-0-1 straight up).

The Lions won last season’s meeting 41-37 in Vancouver Sept. 16, but the Redblacks covered as 9.5-point underdogs as the Over (47) cashed. Ottawa led 37-18 heading into the final frame before QB Vernon Adams Jr. — who will back up QB Nathan Rourke Saturday — led BC in an improbable 4th-quarter comeback, which saw the Lions score 23 unanswered points.

Redblacks vs. Lions picks and predictions

Prediction

Lions 38, Redblacks 20

Moneyline

The Lions (-150) are getting a lot of respect in the market despite losing 5 consecutive games straight up and ATS. BC should bounce back after losing to a Redblacks team with an inflated record in Week 12, but this line has too much vig to consider playing it.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

Rourke, a Victoria native, should get his 1st win of the season playing in this psuedo-home game. I would say that the Redblacks are overrated with their 7-2-1 record, but not even the market is giving them any respect with this line.

It should’ve always been expected that Rourke was going to need time to get readjusted to the CFL game and the Lions’ offense, and this is the perfect spot (figuratively and geographically) for the Victoria native to return to form with a blowout win.

BET LIONS -2.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Over has hit in the last 5 meetings, with BC averaging 36.2 points per game over that span. BC’s defense has been disappointing recently, allowing 25 or more points in 4 of its last 5 games, and Rourke in his 3rd start this year should finally get the offense looking like it did when he won the 2022 Most Outstanding Canadian.

BET OVER 50.5 (-115).

BC Lions at Ottawa Redblacks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s BC Lions at Ottawa Redblacks odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The BC Lions (5-5) and Ottawa Redblacks (6-2-1) meet Saturday for a Week 12 matchup at TD Place Stadium in the front end of a home-and-home set. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (TSN/CFL+). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Lions vs. Redblacks odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

After a 5-game winning streak from Week 2 through 6, the Lions are on a 4-game losing skid while also going 0-4 against the spread (ATS) in the slide. The offense has disappeared, posting just 9.0 points per game (PPG) in the past 3 outings. The Under has cashed in 4 consecutive outings.

QB Nathan Rourke had a disastrous season debut with the Lions last week against Winnipeg, going 8 of 25 for 126 yards, 0 TDs and 2 INTs. RB William Stanback was the offensive star, going for 100 rushing yards on 15 carries.

For the Redblacks, after a 2-2 straight-up/ATS start, Ottawa has ripped off a 4-0-1 record in the past 5 contests while going 4-1 ATS. The Under is 3-1 in the past 4 games and 5-2 across the past 7 outings.

Ottawa’s defense has been dinged for 25.5 PPG in the past 2 outings. However, the offense is good for 31 or more points in 3 of the previous 5 outings.

Lions at Redblacks picks and predictions

Prediction

Redblacks 23, Lions 20

Moneyline

OTTAWA (+100) is a strong play at home as short ‘dogs at even-money.

The Redblacks have been playing tremendous football lately, going 4-0-1 across the past 5 outings, with only a 22-22 tie against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Week 10 as the lone blemish.

The Lions (-120) signed Rourke, as Adams has been nursing a knee injury. The latter is a candidate for the CFL Most Outstanding Player, posting 2,469 passing yards, 14 TDs and 6 INTs. While coach Rick Campbell said Adams won’t be traded upon signing Rourke, it’s a bit awkward at the moment in Vancouver.

Know that you are going against the trends, as the Lions have won 7 in a row in the series while going 8-1 ATS in the past 9 in the series.

Against the spread

Backing Ottawa +1.5 (-118) playing the little bit of points makes no sense, unless you’re absolutely convinced that the Lions -1.5 (-104) are going to win, but just by a single point.

If you like the Redblacks, just bet them straight up, instead.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 50.5 (-115) might be the best play on the board.

The total has cashed low in 4 straight games for BC and 7 of the previous 9 outings. The Lions are good for just 9.0 PPG on offense in the past 3 games. Due to Adams’ injury and Rourke’s shaky play last time out, the BC offense cannot be trusted.

For the Redblacks, while the Over cashed last time out, the total has gone low at a 5-2 clip in the past 7 outings.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers at BC Lions odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers at BC Lions odds and lines, with expert CFL picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (3-6) and BC Lions (5-4) meet Sunday for a Week 11 battle at BC Place. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network/TSN/CFL+). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Blue Bombers vs. BC Lions odds, and make our expert CFL picks and predictions.

The Blue Bombers pounded the Lions 25-0 in Week 9 prior to the bye, and now Winnipeg has had 2 full weeks to prepare for the rematch. Despite the win and cover last time out against BC, the Bombers are just 2-7 against the spread (ATS), but 1-1 ATS as underdogs. The Under (49.5) cashed in Week 9 and is now 8-1 on the season.

The Lions followed up that shutout loss with a 33-16 setback in Edmonton. After 5 straight wins from Week 2 through 7, the Lions have dropped 3 in a row while also going 0-3 ATS. The Under is 3-0 in the past 3 games, too.

Blue Bombers at BC Lions picks and predictions

Prediction

BC Lions 25, Blue Bombers 19

Moneyline

The LIONS (-152) are a strong play in this revenge game at home in Vancouver.

The Lions will not have Adams back under center, but they did bring back QB Nathan Rourke on a multi-year deal Tuesday. The last game that the former Most Outstanding Canadian played in the CFL was a 28-20 loss at the Blue Bombers in the 2022 Western Final.

Against the spread

Again, the LIONS -2.5 (-120) is worth playing with the return of Rourke after his 2-year stint in the NFL. Not only will BC be looking to avenge the Aug. 1 loss, but Rourke will have revenge on his mind, too, since his last game in the league was also a loss to QB Zach Collaros and the Blue Bombers.

Over/Under

UNDER 51.5 (-110) might be the best play on the board.

The total has cashed low in 3 in a row for the Lions and 6 of the past 8 outings, including the first 2 meetings with Winnipeg this season.

For the Bombers, the Under is 8-1 in 9 tries this season, including each of the previous 3 outings.
