Clemson is eager to move past the tough loss to No. 1 Georgia and learn from what went wrong. Cornerback Avieon Terrell acknowledged the challenges of reviewing the game tape, admitting it was frustrating to see how many mistakes were made, especially when the team knew what to expect.
“It’s frustrating, especially watching film seeing everything that they did that we knew it was coming,” Terrell said on Tuesday. “It was very frustrating.”
Terrell pointed out that many of the problems that led to Clemson giving up 20 points in the second half were avoidable.
“Just the little things, the little plays,” he noted. “Stuff we knew was coming, we just ain’t fit the right gaps. Just little things that got us beat in the second half. That’s really what it was.”
The team went over the film together, a process Terrell believes will be beneficial for everyone, including the coaches.
“It was good, as a team, so everybody could see what we did wrong and what we need to work on,” Terrell said. “I like that. The whole staff gets to see what somebody did wrong, so I felt like that was good. Just seeing what the team needs to work on.”
After dropping to No. 25 in the AP Poll, Clemson faces a tricky matchup against an Appalachian State team known for causing upsets on the road. Terrell emphasized that the focus has shifted to addressing the mistakes from the Georgia game and preparing for the Mountaineers.
“Just getting together as a team, flushing what happened last week and focusing on App State,” Terrell added. “Seeing what we need to improve on as a team.”
As they look ahead, head coach Dabo Swinney has kept the message straightforward.
“Just finish, focus on the little things,” Terrell said. “Just getting better on the little things and finish.”
