Antonio Gates Jr. wasn’t the only Spartan recruit to have a good weekend on the field.  A 2021 4-Star running back commit had a day to remember on Saturday.

Audric Estime, a 5’11 210-pound running back from Montvale, New Jersey, ran for 304 yards and had four touchdowns in an impressive showing for St. Joseph’s.  Estime is ranked by Rivals as 10th ranked running back and 5th overall player in the state of New Jersey for the class of 2021.

Estime just committed to Michigan State last month. Estime is tied as the highest ranked commit on Rivals with Charles Brantley, and fellow New Jersey native Geno VanDeMark.  But, his national ranking has slipped in the past year.  Back in August 2019, he was ranked 171st in the nation and now he is ranked 215th.  This game should be a big confidence boost to himself, and prove that his ranking should be higher.

Check out some of the highlights from his game below:

Mel Tucker is becoming the new king of New Jersey recruiting. In Kevin Wigenton and Geno VanDeMark, Tucker has already received the commitment of two of the top prospects in the state of New Jersey. On Sunday, he completed the trifecta as 3-star running back Audric Estime committed to the Spartans.

Estime is a huge addition to a 2021 recruiting class that needed to land a few more heavy hitters. Estime is the No. 4 ranked player in New Jersey for 2021 by the 247Sports rankings and the No. 22 ranked running back in that class. He currently plays for St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey with his teammate and fellow MSU commit Geno VanDeMark.

Estime was also heavily recruited by Arizona State, Rutgers, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Maryland, Pitt, Minnesota, and many others.

Estime is the second running back to join the 2021 class, joining fellow 3-star Davion Primm in the future Spartans backfield.

Four-star offensive lineman Geno VanDeMark commits to Michigan State

Michigan State lands four-star prospect from New Jersey.

Mel Tucker is in a Garden State of mind.

The first-year head coach at Michigan State has landed another New Jersey product in the form of four-star offensive lineman Geno VanDeMark.

VanDeMark chose MSU over a final group off Rutgers, Arizona State, Nebraska, and Ole Miss. His recruitment totaled 17 offers from power five teams across the country.

VanDeMark joins fellow offensive lineman Kevin Wiggenton as MSU commits out of New Jersey. VanDeMark’s high school teammate, running back Audric Estime, could very well be the third as MSU is favored to land the four-star power back.

VanDeMark, who hails from Montvale, NJ, is rated as the No. 18 guard and No. 317 prospect overall in the class of 2021 per the 247 composite rankings.  He has mostly played tackle in high school, but projects to kick inside to guard in college. VanDeMark immediately slots in as MSU’s highest-ranked player in the 2021 class and the first consensus four-star prospect of Tucker’s tenure in East Lansing.

Prior to VanDeMark’s pledge, MSU’s 2021 recruiting class ranked No. 73 in the country and No. 13 in the Big Ten.

Michigan State football recruiting target Geno VanDeMark to announce commitment Saturday

VanDeMark is a four-star offensive line prospect from New Jersey.

Some good recruiting news could be around the corner for Mel Tucker and Michigan State football.

Four-star offensive line prospect Geno VanDeMark has announced he will be making his college commitment on Saturday, August 22 at 6:00 p.m. and the Spartans are among his final group.

MSU is considered the favorite as all five predictions on 247Sports have the Spartans landing their first consensus four-star prospect in the class of 2021. Rutgers, Arizona State, Nebraska, and Ole Miss are the other teams vying for VanDeMarks commitment.

VanDeMark, who hails from Montvale, NJ, is rated as the No. 18 guard and No. 317 prospect overall in the class of 2021 per the 247 composite rankings.

He and high school teammate Audric Estime–who MSU is also considered the favorite for–were in East Lansing to visit campus last weekend.

Michigan State now crystal ball favorites for two four-star New Jersey prospects

MSU is the heavy favorite for Audric Estime and Geno VanDeMark

Michigan State football is starting to pick up some momentum on the recruiting trail.

On Sunday the Spartans picked up a commitment from three-star defensive end prospect Alex Okelo out of Nashville–the first Tennessee recruit for the program since 2007.

Now MSU has become an overwhelming favorite for two four-star teammates out of New Jersey–Audric Estime and Geno VanDeMark. The two both visited East Lansing on their own last weekend and have hinted that their recruitments could be winding down. With that the crystal ball predictions have all come in for Michigan State and the previous predictions for Rutgers have gone by the wayside. Prior to just a few weeks ago both Estime and VanDeMark were predicted to stay at home and join Greg Schiano’s staff in Piscataway.

On Rivals both players are now overwhelmingly picked to go green with their commitments. Estime, the No. 205 player in the class of 2021 for Rivals, is predicted by 12 of 17 predictors to choose MSU. All 12 of the MSU predictions have come more recently than the last Rutgers prediction, which was on June 12. Since then five publishers have flipped their pick from the Scarlett Knights to the Spartans. It’s even more overwhelming for VanDeMark with 13 of 16 predictions going to MSU over Rutgers. The last Rutgers pick on him was put in on April 2 and since then five publishers have flipped from Rutgers to MSU.

Neither prospect has set a decision date yet, but news could be coming relatively soon. Both have said they’re finalizing their decisions and many in the recruiting world think they could be committed to MSU before the calendar turns to September.

Michigan State’s 2021 recruiting class currently ranks No. 73 in the country and No. 13 in the Big Ten.

Wigenton is a 3-star offensive guard out of Hun School in Princeton, New Jersey while VanDeMark and Estime are both 4-star prospects. Estime is a running back and VanDeMark is an offensive guard. Both players play for St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey.

The Spartans made the top-6 for the 4-star running back out of Montvale, New Jersey.

[jwplayer FN7IWpf5]

It has been a bumpy ride on the recruiting trail for new Michigan State Football head coach Mel Tucker in his first offseason. The Spartans have lost a few high profile targets to conference rivals during this recruiting period, and the team could use a big win. Well, that win could be within reach for MSU, as 2021 4-star running back Audric Estime put Michigan State in his top-6 for his recruitment.

Estime is the No. 18 ranked running back in the 2021 recruiting class according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Michigan State currently has an 80% chance of landing Estime according to the 247Sports projections.

Estime also included Nebraska, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, and Rutgers in his top-6, which you can see below:
