Orlando City SC vs. Atlanta United FC picks and predictions

Prediction

Orlando City SC 2, Atlanta United 2

Moneyline (ML)

BET DRAW (+350).

Orlando City lost 2-1 at home to Atlanta United in the final match of the regular season, and it drew Charlotte in back-to-back matches in Round One, ending 0.9 more expected goals through both those matches. The home side didn’t perform at a high level at home for most of the season and actually scored more points on the road.

Atlanta United has been rolling, and in the playoffs that seems to be the most important part. It has scored at least 2 goals in 5 of its last 6 matches and is 4-4-2 in its last 10, so it has drawn consistently as of late.

With that in mind for both sides and the value on the tie, back DRAW (+350).

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER ALTERNATE 3.5 (+145).

Atlanta has a dynamic offense and has a reeling defense. It has scored at least 2 goals in 7 of its last 10 matches and has scored at least once in all 10. Defensively, it has allowed at least 2 goals in 6 of those 10 matches and has given up at least 1.5 expected goals in 5 straight.

Orlando netted 1.74 goals per game during the regular season and has tallied at least 3 goals in 3 of its last 8 matches. It has had at least 2.1 expected goals 3times in its last 6 games. Orlando has a strong offense while Atlanta’s defense hasn’t lived up to par as of late.

Put those together and take the adjusted OVER 3.5 (+145).

Atlanta United FC vs. Inter Miami odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Atlanta United FC vs. Inter Miami odds and lines, with expert MLS picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

Atlanta United welcomes Inter Miami to Mercedes-Benz Stadium Saturday for the second game of their best-of-3 series. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET (Apple TV). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s soccer odds around the Atlanta United vs. Inter Miami odds, and make our best MLS picks and predictions.

In this first-round series, Inter Miami won the opening match 2-1 Oct. 25. Inter totaled a lofty 22 shots and put 12 on frame, compared to 8 and 2, respectively, for Atlanta. Miami also controlled 66% of the possession.

Led by star F Lionel Messi, Miami finished atop the Eastern Conference and won the Supporters’ Shield as well. It was 11-4-2 on the road this season and ended with a total goal differential of +30, averaging 2.32 goals per game. Messi was tied for a team-high 20 goals in just 19 appearances.

Atlanta United struggled both at home and on the road. United was just 6-4-7 at home this season and ended with a -3 goal differential, having allowed 1.44 goals per game. It did beat CF Montreal in penalty kicks in the Wild Card Round to advance to take on Inter. Atlanta was 2-3-1 over its last 6 games of the regular season.

Atlanta United FC vs. Inter Miami picks and predictions

Prediction

Inter Miami 2, Atlanta United 2 (Inter advances in penalty kicks)

Moneyline (ML)

BET DRAW (+300).

While Miami is a favorite, and for good reason, it hasn’t played as well on the road as of late. It drew 2 of its last 4 road games, one of which was against Atlanta, and finished 2-2. In that match Sept. 18, Inter had 0.3 fewer expected goals as well. Miami has had fewer expected goals than its opponent in 2 of its last 4 games.

Atlanta is 2-1-1 in its last 4 games. It has kept close with opponents and played well down the final few weeks. It has scored at least 2 goals in 3 of its last 4. Expect it to get on the board and keep this one close with its season on the line.

Back DRAW (+300).

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 3.5 (-120).

Three of Atlanta’s last 8 games have ended in a 2-2 draw. United’s defense played sloppy against Inter and should’ve given up far more in the first match, allowing 3.3 expected goals.

Miami should be able to convert those chances in the second match. Inter has gone over this total in 5 of its last 9 games and scored at least 3 goals in 2 of its last 3. Inter allowed 1.44 goals per game during the regular season.

Considering both teams’ lack of defensive aptitude, back OVER 3.5 (-120).

Atlanta United FC vs. Inter Miami odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Atlanta United FC vs. Inter Miami odds and lines, with expert MLS picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

Atlanta United FC (8 wins, 7 draws, 13 losses) welcomes Inter Miami (19-5-4) to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for an Eastern Conference clash Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s soccer odds around the Atlanta United FC vs. Inter Miami odds, and make our best expert MLS picks and predictions.

Atlanta United lost 2-0 at home to Nashville SC Saturday, ending with 0.6 fewer expected goals. United has lost 2 of its last 3 matches and 5 of its last 8, going 2-1-5 over that stretch. It has just 1 goal in its last 3 games. United has gone 5-3-6 at home this season and has a -4 goal differential, getting outscored 40-36. Atlanta United sits 10th in the East.

Inter Miami has the most points per game in the MLS with 62, sits atop the East, and is tied for the best goal differential at +24. Inter has scored a league-best 65 goals and has allowed 41. Miami is 9-2-2 on the road this season. It beat the Philadelphia Union 3-1 Saturday with F Lionel Messi scoring a 1st-half brace in his return to action. Inter did end with 0.7 fewer expected goals in the victory.

Atlanta United FC vs. Inter Miami picks and predictions

Prediction

Inter Miami 2, Atlanta United FC 1

Moneyline (ML)

BET INTER MIAMI (+155).

Inter Miami has been the hottest team in the MLS over the last few months. Inter has won 5 straight games, only 1 of which was on the road. Miami has won 9 of its last 10 matches and is 4-0-1 in its last 5 on the road. Miami has outscored opponents 9-2 in its last 3 matches.

Messi brings a different aura around the team, which plays better with him healthy and on the pitch. On the other hand, United has lost 6 of 14 home matches and has gone 1-1-1 in its last 3 at home. United has been outscored 15-8 over its last 8 games. Atlanta is going to struggle against a surging Inter side.

BACK INTER MIAMI (+155).

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 3.5 (-135).

Neither team has been great offensively as of late. Atlanta has scored 1 goal in its last 3 games and has had just 3.3 expected goals in that span. It has gone Under this total in 4 matches in a row and in 5 of its last 6.

Inter has gone Over this total in 2 straight but is 4-6 O/U this total in its last 10. Miami has had 1.1 or fewer expected goals in 2 of its last 3 matches and have held opponents to 1.4 or fewer in 4 of its last 5 matches.

Despite the price on the play, TAKE UNDER 3.5 (-135).

Inter Miami vs. Atlanta United FC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Inter Miami vs. Atlanta United FC odds and lines, with expert MLS picks, predictions and best bets.

F Lionel Messi and Inter Miami welcome Atlanta United FC to DRV PNK Stadium for a Leagues Cup battle Tuesday. The Group J match is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET (Apple TV). Below, we preview BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Inter Miami vs. Atlanta United FC odds, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

Inter Miami has become a hot topic of conversation lately, signing several former Barcelona stars, including Messi and MF Sergio Busquets. They debuted in Miami’s opening Leagues Cup match vs. Cruz Azul Friday. In a storybook ending, Messi scored a free kick in the 94th minute to earn Miami a 2-1 victory and all 3 points. However, in MLS play, Inter Miami is last in the Eastern Conference with a 5-3-14 (W-D-L) record.

Atlanta United will be making its League Cup debut — each group consists of 3 teams. Atlanta has lost 2 straight games, both 2-1 losses, one to the New England Revolution and the other to Orlando City. United is led by Greek F Giorgos Giakoumakis, who has 10 goals in 17 MLS matches this season. Atlanta (9-8-7 MLS play) is 7th in the East, but has won just 3 of its last 11 games.

Inter Miami vs. Atlanta United FC picks and predictions

Prediction

Inter Miami 3, Atlanta United 2

Moneyline (ML)

BET INTER MIAMI (+110).

Busquets and Messi both were subbed in the 54th minute of Friday’s match. They are in good condition and should see more time as Inter continues with its season. Their involvement should boast well for Miami, and at plus-money odds, the new-look Miami roster is worth backing.

Atlanta hasn’t fared well on the road this season either, posting just a 2-5-5 record. It has had issues defensively, allowing 1.63 goals per game. It has given up 2 goals per game over its last 3 road matches.

Messi and company should be able to break through a soft defense with ease. Having made huge signings despite being out of the East playoff picture this season already, expect Miami to go all in for the high-profile tournaments it is still in.

TAKE INTER MIAMI (+110).

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN OVER 2.5 (-160).

Atlanta and Miami are both not good defensively.

Miami gave up 8 shots on target to Cruz Azul and should have conceded more than once. It had 6 shots on target (12 overall), and Messi easily could have had multiple goals in his debut.

The reason Miami has lost 14 games this season is its defense, and it hasn’t improved that much, potentially even hurting it with its additions. Inter has allowed 1.64 goals per game.

Given Miami enhanced a lacking attack and Atlanta has a strong offense and porous defense, expect goals often. Despite the juice, TAKE OVER 2.5 (-160).

Columbus Crew vs. Atlanta United FC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Columbus Crew vs. Atlanta United FC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Columbus Crew (8 wins, 6 losses, 10 draws) welcome Atlanta United FC (7-10-8) to Lower.com Field Sunday. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Columbus Crew vs. Atlanta United FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Crew have made a strong playoff push over the last several months, having lost just once since May 21. They’ve gone 4-1-4 in their last 9 games with 4 of their last 5 matches at home (2-1-1).

Columbus is led by star M Lucas Zelarayán with 8 goals and F Cucho with 6 goals.

Atlanta, on the other hand, is soundly out of playoff position but did show some life against FC Cincinnati. It has lost and drawn its last 2 games despite having more expected goals.

United is led by 25-year-old Mexican F Ronaldo Cisneros with a team-high 7 goals. Former Golden Boot winner F Josef Martínez has just 6 goals on the season, having started just 12 matches.

Prediction

Columbus Crew 2, Atlanta United 0

Money line (ML)

BET COLUMBUS CREW (-112).

At home, the Crew should be able to get the job done. Atlanta has not been impressive this season, and that’s been even more true when it has been on the road.

Atlanta United is just 1-7-4 on the road. The Crew are 5-4-3 at home this season and are 2-0-1 at home against teams not in the playoff picture in the East.

They should be able to come out on top in this match considering how they’ve played against lower-tier opponents and how poor Atlanta has been on the road this season.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN UNDER 2.5 (+115).

Columbus has gone under this total in 7 of its 12 home games this season. Similarly, United has gone under this total in 3 of their last 6 matches.

Atlanta ranks 8th in the East in scoring while Columbus is tied for 10th, so there aren’t many goals scored between the 2 sides. Columbus plays a slow-paced game, averaging just 1.28 goals per game.

Also, the Crew have the lowest shooting percentage in the MLS, so they don’t often get shots on target even when shots are plentiful. Columbus hasn’t improved at home, having been shut out in 5 of 12 matches.

Considering it all, I lean to the Under 2.5 (+115).

Atlanta United vs. Columbus Crew odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Atlanta United vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Atlanta United (4 wins, 4 losses, 4 draws) welcome the Columbus Crew (3-5-4) to Mercedes-Benz Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Atlanta United vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Both Atlanta and Columbus have disappointed so far this season with United sitting 8th in the East and the Crew 12th. Three points separate the 2 sides. As for United, they’ve drawn 2 straight games, both 2-2.

One was at home against New England, and the other, more recently, was a loss on the road against Nashville. Atlanta is led by F Ronaldo Cisneros, who has 4 goals on the season. It’s allowed 18 goals in 12 games.

As for the Crew, they’ve lost two straight and have failed to score in 6 of their last 8 games.

Columbus has scored 15 and allowed 15 through its 12 games this season. It is led in scoring by 2021 M Lucas Zelarayán, who has 4 goals on the season. The Crew are a pitiful 0-4-2 on the road this season.

Atlanta United vs. Columbus Crew odds, lines, picks and predictions

  • Money line: Atlanta United +100 (bet $100 to win $100) | Columbus Crew +280 (bet $100 to win $280) | Draw +250
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

[tipico]

Prediction

Atlanta United 2, Columbus Crew 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN ATLANTA UNITED +100.

The Crew just haven’t played up to par on the road, and their struggles over the last 8 games are real.

The Crew were unbeaten through the first 4 games of the season and have lost 5 of their last 8. Columbus must figure things out, and at a rowdy Mercedes-Benz Stadium won’t be where that happens.

There’s a chance star F Josef Martinez makes his return from injury as well. Martinez won the league’s Golden Boot in 2018. Even without Martinez, United has been playing better as of late. They’ve also not lost at home.

Combine United’s 3-0-3 home record with how bad Columbus has been away from Lower.com Field along with the potential return of Martinez, and I’ll take Atlanta at this value.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-115).

The United defense has been terrible the last few games, which is why the OVER 2.5 (-115) is my favorite bet of the game. United has allowed 18 goals in 12 games and would have combined to top this total in their last 5 games.

The Crew would’ve hit this total in 2 of their last 4, having allowed 2 goals to their opponent in 3 straight games.

Columbus has one of the most experienced midfielders in the MLS. Zelarayan should be able to help the Crew break down a susceptible Atlanta defense.

Columbus ranks 9th in scoring attempts while Atlanta sits 4th in on-target scoring attempts. The 2 attacks combined should be able to net at least 3 goals.

Atlanta United vs. FC Cincinnati odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Atlanta United vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

Atlanta United (3 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw) hosts FC Cincinnati (2-4-0) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Atlanta United vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Atlanta United has won 2 of its last 4 and is coming off a 1-0 loss to Charlotte after defeating D.C. United 1-0.

United is led in scoring by F Josef Martínez, who has 2 goals on the season. Martinez was dubbed a Top10n Golden Boot candidate at the beginning of the season. Atlanta is 2-0-1, having yet to lose at home this season.

As for FC Cincinnati, it is led by F Brandon Vazquez, who has 5 of the team’s 7 goals.

Vazquez is in a 3-way tie for the most goals in the MLS. FCC is 1-2-0 on the road this season and is coming off a rough 4-3 home loss to Montreal at home. FCC sits 11th on the Eastern Conference table.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -135 | U: +110)

[tipico]

Prediction

Atlanta United 2, FC Cincinnati 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN to ATLANTA UNITED (-145).

United, which has scored 9 and given up 9 through 7 games, is at least competent on both sides of the ball.

As for Cincinnati, not only is FCC not competent defensively, but it has allowed 8 goals in 3 road games. Overall, FC Cincinnati has allowed 14 goals in 6 games, the third most in the Eastern Conference.

Atlanta has yet to lose at home, including recent 3-1 and 2-1 victories. Considering FCC’s struggles on the road and United’s strength at home – it was 9-3-5 at home last season – I expect United to come out on top.

At this price point, it’s just a lean.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the OVER 2.5 (-135).

This is easily the best bet in the game, and it largely has to do with how poor FCC’s defense has been.

With United and its opponent having combined for more than 2.5 goals in 4 of its 6 games, I fully expect United to score a couple on FCC. FCC is also 4-2 O/U this season.

FC Cincinnati has allowed 8 road goals in 3 games, and it will be taking on Martinez, one of the most dynamic forwards in the MLS.

FCC’s expected goals and opponents’ expected goals have been at least at 2.9 in each of its games this season. Against an elite offense, I expect FCC to come up short more often than not.

So far this season, for both teams, the Over has been a profitable wager.

Colorado Rapids vs. Atlanta United odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado Rapids vs. Atlanta United odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rapids (0 wins, 1 loss, 0 draws) host Atlanta United (1-0-0) Saturday at DSG Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Colorado vs. Atlanta odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Colorado was given a difficult test in its opener on the road against LAFC with a fully healthy F Carlos Vela. Vela netted a hat trick against the Rapids, a team that gave up just the second-fewest goals in the Western Conference a season ago.

The Rapids lost 3-0 in their opener after finishing first in the conference last season. That was more about how good Vela was than a weak Rapids side.

Atlanta is led by F Josef Martinez. United beat Sporting KC at home 3-1 for an impressive season-opening win. Atlanta committed just 6 fouls which is tied for the fewest in the MLS through the opening week.

Atlanta finished 4-6-7 on the road a season ago.

Prediction

Colorado 1, Atlanta United 1

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to a DRAW (+245).

Atlanta is a talented side and showed that as it knocked off one of the Western Conference’s best teams in their opener. However, it’s far more difficult on the road and Colorado will be looking to bounce back.

The Rapids’ strong defensive play should be able to limit Martinez and company. Colorado gave up just 35 goals in 34 games a season ago and its mistakes against LAFC should be corrected at home.

The Rapids were 9-1-7 at home last season, failing to get any points in just 1 match. Against a talented United side that’s coming off an impressive win, I think a draw could be in store.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 2.5 (-130).

The Rapids allowed just 1.03 goals per game last season. Vela ripped them apart, but their coaching and defensive core are still intact and should rebound in this home battle.

United totaled 3 goals against Sporting, but they allowed just 2 shots on goal, one of which Sporting managed to score on.

United has USMNT star D Miles Robinson captaining their backline as well, so the experience is there to succeed. I expect a hard-fought battle, one that finishes relatively low scoring.

Atlanta United at Orlando City SC odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Atlanta United at Orlando City SC odds and lines, with MLS betting picks, tips and best bets.

In one of three MLS games Friday, Atlanta United (2 wins, 5 losses, 8 draws) visit Orlando City SC (7-4-4) for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff at Exploria Stadium. Below, we preview the Atlanta United FC vs. Orlando City SC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Despite F Josef Martinez finding his way back into the lineup, Atlanta United still haven’t consistently found a positive result. Atlanta hasn’t won since May 15 and has earned just two points in the last five matches.

As for Orlando City SC, with F Nani leading the way, it could jump Nashville SC for second place in the Eastern Conference with a win. Orlando hasn’t played well lately either with a 1-3-1 record over its last five games.

Prediction

Orlando City SC 1, Atlanta United 1

Money line (ML)

BET on the DRAW (+270) as the best value on the money line. After all, it seems to be the only thing Atlanta knows how to do.

United have more draws than wins and losses combined. With Martinez back, they should manage to find the back of the net at least once. They’ve drawn five of eight road matches.

While Atlanta still has three players with the USMNT in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the most important absence is Orlando City F Daryl Dike. Without Dike, expect a lower-scoring match with the outcome being a draw.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the UNDER 2.5 (+100) as the better value on the total.

Without Dike, Orlando’s attack is limited to Nani. Outside of Martinez, Atlanta really has little attacking prowess, having scored just 14 goals through 15 matches.

Atlanta hit the Over in two of its last seven matches. While Orlando City was completely destroyed Sunday by New York City FC to the tune of a 5-0 loss, its defense should bounce back at home, where it has played well.

New York Red Bulls at Atlanta United FC odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s New York Red Bulls at Atlanta United FC odds and lines, with MLS betting picks, tips and best bets.

In one of four MLS games Sunday, the New York Red Bulls (4 wins, 5 losses, 0 draws) visit Atlanta United FC (2-2-5) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the New York Red Bulls vs. Atlanta United FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Red Bulls come into the match after pushing the top-ranked New England Revolution to their limits in a 3-2 loss Wednesday. In their only other game after the international break, the Red Bulls won 2-0 over Nashville SC.

New York’s offense has been rolling as of late, and it’s going to need a result to keep climbing the ladder. The Red Bulls will need to down an Atlanta United FC that’s struggled to close out games, as you can see with the 5 draws on their record.

Since coming back from the break, United lost to New York City FC (1-0) and drew the Philadelphia Union (2-2). With 10th place and fourth place in the Eastern Conference separated by four points, both teams will desperately be looking for a win Sunday afternoon.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -135 | U: +100)

Prediction

New York Red Bulls 1, Atlanta United FC 0

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to NEW YORK (+230) as the best value on the money line. While I’d love to consider Atlanta United as their home field typically offers an advantage, they just aren’t the same team without F Josef Martinez.

United has scored just 11 goals through nine games; however, they have two wins and two ties at home, so they’ve yet to lose. On top of that, the Red Bulls have struggled on the road, at 0-4-0.

Those obstacles will eventually be overcome.

Atlanta is coming off a loss while New York had a dominant victory over Nashville before the narrow loss to the Revolution. While the numbers may look against it, New York will look to build momentum, and at this value, is worth considering.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 2.5 (+100) as neither team is impressive in the attacking half.

The teams have combined for 25 goals in 18 games. They’ve both given up one less than they’ve scored, as well. This one is a toss-up as neither is overly impressive.

Eighteen-year-old Red Bulls MF Caden Clark, who will be transferred at the end of the season, has clearly been the best player for the Red Bulls. If he takes the pitch, they’ll have the upper hand in the midfield.

Both teams are outside of the top 14 in terms of shots and outside the top 10 in goals.

Lastly, the Under hit in both teams’ last game. This is likely to be another instance of the defense getting the better of the formerly top-tier franchises.
