4 free agents Panthers DC Ejiro Evero could bring with him to Carolina

Here are four free agents new Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero could (and should) help recruit to Carolina.

On Wednesday, new Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero brought over linebackers coach Peter Hansen from the Denver Broncos. But we have a feeling Hansen won’t be the last friend he takes with him to Charlotte.

Here are four free agents, all of whom have shared a sideline with Evero, the Panthers should target for their defense.

Rams DT A’Shawn Robinson named as free agency fit for Browns

A Rams defensive tackle (no, not Aaron Donald) has been linked to the Browns as a free agent target

The Cleveland Browns are going to make significant changes to the defensive tackle position, whether through the 2023 NFL Draft or through free agency. While big names like Daron Payne and DeForest Bucker (who would be a trade target) tend to take up the headlines, PFF has another idea. Brad Spielberger of PFF has linked A’Shawn Robinson to the Browns. He will be only 28 in 2022 after spending time with both the Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions.

At 6-foot-4 and 330 pounds, Robinson is a plug against the run who has still had a prowess for getting after the passer as well. Look for the Browns to add at least two to their unit this offseason, and that is at a minimum.

2022 NFL draft: Every player taken with 46th overall pick in last 10 years

What will the Vikings do with their first second-round draft pick in two years?

For the first time in two years, the Minnesota Vikings will finally be selecting a player in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft.

Of course, that’s assuming general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah doesn’t green light a trade that sends the pick to another team.

The Vikings haven’t had a second-round draft pick since taking offensive tackle Ezra Cleveland with the No. 58 overall pick of the 2020 NFL draft. Since being kicked to guard, Cleveland has been solid in his role along the offensive front.

So former general manager Rick Spielman must be commended for rebounding with that pick after biting the dust on cornerback Jeff Gladney in the first round.

There’s a ton of value to be had on Friday for the Vikings with the No. 46 overall pick. Whether Adofo-Mensah can find it or not remains to be seen.

Today, we’re listing the last 10 players taken with the No. 46 pick over the last decade.

A’Shawn Robinson comes up big for the Rams in Super Bowl LVI

Former Alabama DL A’Shawn Robinson was dominant during Super Bowl LVI

Late Sunday night the Los Angeles Rams celebrated their 23-20 Super Bowl victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Joining in that celebration were former Alabama Crimson Tide standouts, A’Shawn Robinson and Terrell Lewis.

While Lewis was inactive for the Rams, Robinson wasn’t and the massive defensive lineman made his presence felt from the very beginning.

When Robinson was on the field, he made it difficult for the Bengals to find any success up the middle in the running game. Robinson totaled six tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack during the contest.

Robinson was eating up blockers and was a big piece in the Rams’ ability to hassle Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, which they sacked a total of seven times in the matchup.

Congratulations to both Lewis and Robinson on their first career Super Bowl victories.

Throughout Super Bowl history, winning teams have been buttressed just as much by unexpected players as they have been by established superstars. Who expected Malcolm Butler to pick off Russell Wilson’s skinny slant in Super Bowl XLIX, or Nick Foles to put up an MVP performance in Super Bowl LII, or for David Tyree to make that helmet catch in Super Bowl XLII, or for Rod Martin to pick off three passes in Super Bowl XV?

We can go all the way back to the first Super Bowl, when Packers receiver Max McGee blew up the Chiefs’ triple stack defense for seven receptions, 138 yards, and two touchdowns — most likely with very little sleep from certain extracurricular activities the night before.

So, when we get heavy into the 56th version of the NFL’s biggest game, here are 14 under-the-radar players who could have a similar transformative impact, and their potential ascents turning into rings for them, and all of their teammates and coaches.

Here are the Secret Superstars of Super Bowl LVI.

Former Alabama players remaining in the NFL playoffs

Which former Crimson Tide stars remain in the NFL playoffs?

We have finally reached the conference championship games in the NFL playoffs as four teams are vying for two spots in the Super Bowl.

The conference championship matchups will be held today, Jan. 30. The first of the two matchups is between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs on CBS at 2:00 p.m. CT. The second will be between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams on FOX at 5:30 p.m. CT.

When the playoffs began, there was a total of 34 former Alabama players were listed on playoff team rosters.

With teams dwindling away, I thought it was a good time to look at how many former members of the Alabama Crimson Tide remain hopeful of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.
