Arrest warrant issued for Ravens fan who assaulted 2 Commanders fans in Baltimore

An arrest warrant is issued from Sunday’s incident in Baltimore where two Commanders fans were assaulted.

Just days after a Baltimore Ravens fan assaulted two Washington Commanders fans on the streets of Baltimore after Sunday’s NFL game, Baltimore police have issued an arrest warrant. According to the warrant, 24-year-old John Callis is wanted in connection to the assaults that happened on the 1000 block of South Charles Street.

After the Ravens defeated the Commanders 30-23, a Ravens fan wearing a Lamar Jackson jersey randomly punches two fans in Washington jerseys, knocking one to the ground. The incident was caught on video and shared on every form of social media.

Here’s the incident from Sunday.

Once the video made its rounds on X, Washington fans united to find the attacker’s identity and were quickly successful.

According to the warrant, Callis is facing first-degree aggravated assault and three counts of second-degree assault. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call 1-866-7Lockup.

Washington fans were elated to see the news:

Another one:

Commanders safety Jeremy Reaves wanted to do something for the two Washington fans assaulted in the video.

That’s another win for Reaves, one of Washington’s most popular players.

Ex-Lions DT Isaiah Buggs arrested again

Ex-Lions DT Isaiah Buggs arrested for the second time this offseason

The troubles keep piling up for former Lions defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs. Now with the Kansas City Chiefs, the DT was arrested early Sunday on charges of domestic violence and burglary in Alabama.

It’s the second time this offseason Buggs has been arrested in his home state of Alabama. Earlier this spring, Buggs faced charges related to animal cruelty for neglected dogs on his property.

Buggs started 13 games for Detroit in 2022 and was a key member of the DL rotation. He played less in 2023 before the Lions released him before the end of the season.

Former Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew was arrested and faces charges stemming from an altercation in a convenience store in the Dallas area.

TMZ Sports posted surveillance video from the 7-Eleven in Texas where the incident occurred. In the clip, Pettigrew is involved in a progressively escalating discussion with police who were responding to the situation. This took place in the early AM hours over the weekend.

Pettigrew appeared to punch a display case but then raised his hands after police pulled tasers and pointed them at him. He left in handcuffs.

A first-round pick out of Oklahoma State back in 2009, Pettigrew spent all seven of his NFL years in Detroit. His best campaign came in 2011, when the 6-foot-5, 260-pounder caught 83 passes for 777 yards and five touchdowns.

Ex-Lions DT Isaiah Buggs charged with animal cruelty dealing with dogs on his property in Alabama

Former Detroit Lions defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs is facing charges of animal cruelty for his handling of dogs on his Alabama property. Buggs, who played collegiately at Alabama, was arrested in Tuscaloosa after emaciated, starving and neglected dogs were found at his address.

From the report by Ryan Phillips of the Tuscaloosa Patch,

The petition goes on to say that when TPD and the City of Tuscaloosa’s Animal Control officers arrived, they found a grey and white pitbull on the screened-in back porch surrounded in feces, with no access to food or water.

What’s more, those responding reported finding a black Rottweiler mix locked in a metal cage in direct sunlight with no access to food or water.

Buggs was a full-time starter in the 2022 season for Detroit and played reasonably well in his first season with the Lions. However, his star faded in 2023 and Buggs was benched and then waived before the end of the season. There were low-level grumblings about his lack of playing time and position on the depth chart that contributed to his fall from grace in Detroit.

His current team, the Kansas City Chiefs, has yet to comment or act publicly on Buggs’ arrest.

Arrest warrant issued for Lions CB Cameron Sutton

Arrest warrant issued for Lions CB Cameron Sutton

Some disturbing offseason news on the Lions front: An arrest warrant has been issued in Florida for Detroit cornerback Cameron Sutton.

Hillsborough County posted the arrest warrant online after being unable to locate Sutton within their jurisdiction. The warrant cites aggravated battery – domestic violence.

The picture on the post eliminates any doubt that it’s the same Cameron Sutton who plays for the Lions.

Seahawks issue statement after reports of Aldon Smith’s arrest warrant

The Seattle Seahawks have issued a statement after reports of defensive Aldon Smith’s arrest warrant in Louisiana.

The Seattle Seahawks have issued a statement in the wake of the warrant issued for new defensive end Aldon Smith’s arrest.

“We are aware of the reports regarding Aldon Smith,” the statement reads. “Aldon notified us and we are gathering more information. We have no further comment at this time.”

According to reports, the arrest warrant for second-degree battery was issued by the St. Bernard Parish in Louisiana following an incident alleged to have occurred at a coffee house on the evening of April 17.

Smith is no stranger to the legal system having faced multiple criminal charges in the past. This latest incident is believed to have taken place just days after Smith signed his contract with Seattle.

This situation is continuing to develop.

Arrest warrant for alleged battery issued for Seahawks DE Aldon Smith

Newly acquired Seattle Seahawks defensive end Aldon Smith finds himself in legal trouble after a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Newly acquired Seattle Seahawks defensive end Aldon Smith has not even been with the team for a week and he is already making headlines . . . albeit for less than stellar reasons.

In a surprising news drop on Monday morning, Travers Mackel of WDSU – New Orleans’ NBC affiliate – reported there has been a warrant for Aldon Smith’s arrest in St. Bernard Parish in Louisiana.

This is not just a potential hit for the Seattle Seahawks – who were enjoying the deepest collection of pass rush talent in years – but for Smith’s journey back to the NFL. Legal issues have completely marred what could have been a tremendous career.

Aldon Smith was a disruptive force for San Francisco from 2011-2014, but his time with the Niners ended following his third DUI arrest. Smith went across the Bay in 2015 to play for the then-Oakland Raiders, but received a year-long suspension due to a hit-and-run charge.

It would be the last time Smith played football for the next four seasons, until his return as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. He played in all 16 games, and his 5.0 sacks were a lone bright spot on one of the league’s worst defenses.

Now Smith finds himself back in legal jeopardy. While it is certainly far too early to see how the legal process will play out, it’s important to note second chances don’t often present themselves in the NFL . . . and Smith has had his, as well as third, fourth, and fifth chances.

Perhaps this is the proverbial straw that will break NFL teams’ backs and they’ll realize perhaps the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze when it comes to Aldon Smith.

SeahawksWire will continue to update as this story unfolds.

Quinton Dunbar turns himself in on charges of armed robbery

Seattle Seahawks DB Quinton Dunbar has turned himself in to the Miramar Police Department following an arrest warrant issued on Thursday.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar, after over 40 hours of being at-large, has turned himself in following an arrest warrant issued by the Miramar, FL. Police Department, where he is facing charges of armed robbery.

Dunbar’s defense lawyer, Michael Grieco, tweeted about Dunbar’s decision to turn himself in on Saturday afternoon.

“Today our client Quintin Dunbar voluntarily surrendered at the Broward County Jail pursuant to a bogus arrest warrant based solely on uncorroborated witness statements that have since been recanted.” Grieco wrote. “As I write this an innocent man sits in jail. Shame on @MiramarPD.”

A day after Miramar police tweeted out the arrest warrant for Dunbar, Grieco blasted them for doing “a virtual touchdown dance without investigating further” and claimed to have five letters from witnesses that exonerate Dunbar of any wrongdoing.

The charges stem from a party on Wednesday night, in which Dunbar and Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker are accused of robbing party guests at gunpoint, taking money and valuables, including watches. Witnesses all testified that Dunbar was present and helped rob the victims, according to the arrest warrant, although there were mixed responses about whether he was armed as well.

Grieco claims those witness statements are uncorroborated and believes his client is innocent of any wrongdoing.

Quinton Dunbar has 5 letters exonerating him in armed robbery case

Seattle Seahawks defensive back Quinton Dunbar has five letters which maintain his innocence in an armed robbery case.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who has a warrant out for his arrest in Florida stemming from an accusation of armed robbery, has letters from five alleged victims which state he was not involved in the incident.

Dunbar’s defense attorney, Michael Grieco, says that five witnesses have signed sworn affidavits that exonerate Dunbar of any involvement in the alleged armed robbery that took place on Wednesday evening.

“I can’t believe Miramar PD did a virtual touchdown dance without investigating further,” Grieco told FOX’s Andy Slater. “I have never in my career seen a police department so excited about arresting a celebrity.”

The arrest warrant stated that Dunbar was seen aiding Giants defensive back DeAndre Baker, who was pointing a gun at party guests while demanding their money and valuables, including multiple watches. The warrant did not indicate whether or not Dunbar himself was also armed.

However, the five affidavits indicate Dunbar was not involved in the incident.

Greico went on to say he presented the affidavits to the Broward State Attorney’s Office, but prosecutors are still requiring Dunbar turn himself in to be jailed.

A look at Seattle’s options if they move on from Quinton Dunbar

If the Seattle Seahawks opt to release Quinton Dunbar in light of his recent legal issues, they have a few options to pursue in free agency.

Seahawks defensive back Quinton Dunbar, a few hours after speaking to Seattle media members virtually, was issued an arrest warrant in Florida, where he is facing four charges of armed robbery alongside Giants defensive back Deandre Baker.

The charges are very serious, and while an arrest (and potential conviction) will take time, the Seahawks may end up making the decision to cut Dunbar sooner rather than later if they feel waiting will only make things worse.

Cutting Dunbar would save the Seahawks $3.4 million in cap space, which gets them just under $20 million in total cap space – not including rookie contracts.

What the Seahawks do with that space remains to be seen, but if Dunbar is out of the picture it certainly makes sense for them to pursue an upgrade at right cornerback, where Tre Flowers has been the starter the past two seasons.

The open market has a handful of names left that could appeal to coach Pete Carroll and company, although only one, Logan Ryan, that would be a surefire starter over Flowers.

Ryan, 29, is a seven-year vet who spent four years in New England and the last three in Tennessee. He recorded 4.5 sacks and four interceptions last year with the Titans – totals which would have been the best on the team for the Seahawks.

Ryan is not quite the prototypical size of a Seattle cornerback, but his ball-hawking ability and versatility as a rusher would make him an appealing, albeit spendy, option to replace Dunbar if they decide to go in that direction.

Other options on the free agent market include Dre Kirkpatrick, Trumaine Johnson, Eli Apple and Ross Cockrell, as well as a potential reunion with Akeem King who remains unsigned.

However – any of those options would only be as depth or competition for Flowers, and the Seahawks may just opt to let him challenge for his old job back and run it back with a secondary of Flowers, Shaquill Griffin, Bradley McDougald and Quandre Diggs – a unit that fared extremely well on the field together in 2020.

This legal situation is ongoing, but don’t be surprised to see the Seahawks be aggressive in bringing in more competition in the secondary if they decide to move on from Dunbar.
