The Brooklyn Nets are a franchise that is in transition as they are trying to rebuild after the trades of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. While the franchise is putting its future in the hands of players like Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson, it looks like the Nets will be moving forward without one of their sharpshooters.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype on Saturday, Brooklyn will be waiving Two-Way guard Armoni Brooks after spending most of this season with the team’s G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets. Brooks signed his Two-Way contract with Brooklyn in July after playing well for the Nets in the summer league.
Brooks appeared in 10 games for Brooklyn this season, averaging 4.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 32.6% from the field and 34.4% from behind the three-point land. In five games for the Nets in the Las Vegas Summer League, Brooks averaged 17.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 50% from the floor and 47.6% from deep.
Tough to see for Armoni Brooks as it looked like he found a home with the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets signed him to his Two-Way contract in July and that was after having an outstanding performance in the summer league for Brooklyn. I was rooting for him. https://t.co/W8b5bdjRYQ
