Five-star QB Arch Manning opens up on his recruitment

Manning spoke about what stands out about each of his top schools.

No prospect in the 2023 class has attracted more attention than five-star quarterback Arch Manning.

Despite his superstar name and coaches from all over the country fighting for his commitment, Manning likes to keep his recruitment close to his chest.

Sam Spiegelman of On3Sports caught up with Manning about where things stand with his top schools. Manning is coming off of spring visits to Alabama, Georgia and Texas, but he told Spiegleman that trips to both LSU and Florida are also in the works.

An official decision timetable does not seem to be set in stone just yet for the five-star. Manning is doing his due diligence before selecting his future home,

It’s kind of getting closer. I don’t really have a point yet, but I guess it’s kind of narrowing stuff down. I’m looking forward to (making a decision) either before the season or during the season or after the season. If I was ready I’d probably commit right now, but I’m not, so I’m just waiting.

Manning spoke about what stands out about each of his top schools in the interview.

Report: Texas in talks to hire former Duke coach David Cutcliffe as an analyst

Cutcliffe has coached many great quarterbacks including Peyton and Eli Manning over his career.

Steve Sarkisian has put an emphasis on adding experience to his staff this offseason.

Texas brought in longtime TCU coach Gary Patterson as the special assistant to the head coach, now it appears the Longhorns are after another former head coach.

Chirs Hummer of 247Sports reports there is a “good possibility” former Duke head coach David Cutcliffe will join the Texas staff in an off-field position.

Cutcliffe brings in 21 years of head coaching experience after stints at Ole Miss and Duke. He is known as a bit of a quarterback guru, most notably as Peyton and Eli Manning’s former quarterback coach.

Bringing in Cutcliffe would give Texas a bit of a leg up in the recruitment of five-star quarterback Arch Manning. Texas has been high on his list for a while and is among the top four schools believed to have the best chances to land him.

WATCH: Arch Manning gets buckets in front of Nick Saban and Kirby Smart

The recruitment of Arch Manning is nonstop.

The No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2023 is more than just a quarterback. Arch Manning can also make plays on the basketball court.

Manning’s recent games have featured a couple of national championship-winning coaches in the crowd. Alabama’s Nick Saban and Georgia’s Kirby Smart were spotted in the stands continuing their hot pursuit of the five-star quarterback.

Texas, Georiga, Alabama, Ole Miss and Clemson all received visits from Manning in the fall but other schools such as Oklahoma and LSU are trying to get involved. It was reported Manning met with coaches from Texas and many other programs last week.

Whoever lands Manning will get a massive boost to their 2023 recruiting class. Many elite talents have shown interest in playing with Manning at the collegiate level.

The timetrame remains unclear when Manning will make a decision regarding his future. Texas is squarely in the mix.
