Ohio State jumps in AP Top 25 College Football Poll after win over Rutgers

Ohio State makes a nice jump after a big win over Rutgers.

The Ohio State football team finally looks like the one fans thought they would see this season. A dominating performance against Rutgers along with some top 10 upsets, has vaulted the Buckeyes up the rankings to No. 7 in the AP Top 25 College Football Poll.

Before anyone gets too excited, the win was over one of the perennial cellar dwellers of the Big Ten. However, Rutgers does seem to be a much-improved team from the one fans have grown accustomed to over the years.

Ohio State jumped past Oregon, which is an interesting move considering the Ducks dispatched OSU just a few weeks ago. But alas, we live in a “what have you done for me lately” kind of world.

Michigan has also jumped into the top 10, all the way up to No. 9 after a dominating performance at Wisconsin.

Ohio State welcomes Maryland to the Horseshoe this Saturday as the Terrapins look to bounce back after a beatdown at the hands of Iowa last week.

Ohio State drops in AP Top 25 College Football Poll despite dominating win over Akron

Ohio State falls again in the latest AP Top 25 College Football Poll despite win over Akron.

Ohio State did everything it was supposed to do in a dominating performance over in-state foe Akron. However, it seems that wasn’t enough to impress AP voters.

In the latest edition of the AP Top 25 Poll, voters moved Ohio State down one spot from No. 10 to No. 11 in the weekly rankings. That might be more of a reflection of some impressive wins by Notre Dame and Arkansas.

After knocking off Texas A&M, Arkansas jumped up eight spots all the way to No. 8 in the country. And the Fighting Irish made a statement over Wisconsin and moved into the top 10 as well. Clemson took the biggest tumble, falling down to No. 25 after losing to NC State in double overtime on Saturday.

Ohio State travels to Piscataway to face a better than usual Rutgers team on Saturday as they look to try and climb back up the polls.

Ohio State drops again in AP Top 25 College Football Poll

Ohio State falls again in the latest AP Top 25 College Football Poll despite win over Tulsa.

Another week, another subpar performance by Ohio State. This time against an inferior opponent in Tulsa. The Buckeyes ended up winning by three touchdowns, but the game was much closer than the final score would indicate.

AP voters have kept the Buckeyes in the top 10 but by the slightest of margins. OSU comes in at No. 10 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll. That is a spot lower than last week after the Bucks did not take care of business as they should have against lowly Tulsa.

Penn State made a big jump all the way up from No. 10 to No. 6 in the country. The Nittany Lions dispatched Auburn in a primetime matchup in Happy Valley. Another team that had a sizable fall was the Clemson Tigers who barely survived with a six-point victory over Georgia Tech.

Ohio State will attempt to climb back up the polls when they face Akron Saturday night in Columbus.

Ohio State plummets AP Top 25 College Football Poll but still in top 10

As expected, Ohio State falls up in the latest AP Top 25 College Football Poll.

A fall was expected after a disappointing home loss for Ohio State at the hands of the Oregon Ducks. And fall the Bucks did, but not quite as far as the USA Today Sports AFCA Coaches Poll, which saw OSU land outside the top 10 down to the No. 11 spot.

AP voters were a little more kind and voted Ohio State at No. 9 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll. Meanwhile, the Ducks vaulted all the way up to No. 4 after their impressive showing in the Horseshoe.

The Iowa Hawkeyes also made a big jump up to No. 5 with a win over in-state rival, Iowa State. This makes Iowa the highest-rated team in the Big Ten. Penn State comes in right behind the Buckeyes and the AP voters gave Michigan some love after beating Washington in primetime on Saturday evening coming in at No. 25.
