Antonio Brown takes repeated aim at Giants’ Daniel Jones

Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, known for his erratic behavior, has chosen New York Giants QB Daniel Jones as next target.

Ex-NFL All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown, who has been known for his erratic behavior both on and off the field, has strangely chosen New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones as his latest subject to lampoon.

The 35-year-old Brown, who last played in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, has lobbed several posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, blasting the Giants for sticking with Jones, whom he apparently has little respect for as a player or person.

As far as we know, Jones and Brown do not have a personal relationship and Jones has never commented about Brown — at least publicly.

It is a curious avenue for Brown, who has a long litany of bizarre behavior to his credit, to go down. Jones has been nothing but respectful and professional since joining the Giants back in 2019.

At some point, we’ll get Jones’ side to this, but then again, knowing him, he’ll just shrug it off.

Antonio Brown asks Adam Schefter for credit on Russell Wilson scoop

Antonio Brown’s overwhelming desire to be noticed seems to know no limits.

Late Sunday night, the news broke that Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson was planning to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The initial reports came out from all the usual sources including ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter.

One guy who wants some credit for the breaking news is former Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. He tweeted on Friday that his former team was signing Wilson to a one-year deal.

Brown even went so far as to reach out to Schefter in a DM asking for credit for breaking the story two days earlier. Schefter handled Brown like a pro but didn’t offer up the credit, leading Brown to take to social media to talk about it.

If anyone should claim they broke this story it is former NFL receiver Chad Johnson. He called it over a week ago when he said a little bird told him Wilson was headed to the Steelers. Once we knew there was an interest between Wilson and the Steelers it wasn’t hard to connect the dots and assume this is how it would end. But Brown has never been a guy to squander an opportunity to insult someone or beg for attention.

Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey receives lofty pro comparison from draft analyst

Ladd McConkey followed up a great season with a strong combine.

There is little disagreement that Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey was one of the most dominant receivers in the country when he was on the field this last season, and it’s fair to say he took advantage of just about every cornerback that lined up against him. Entering the 2024 NFL draft now McConkey is getting every typical “white slot receiver” comparison under the sun from Cooper Kupp to Hunter Renfrow. NFL draft analyst Mike Renner has a different take, however:

Antonio Brown is about as lofty of a comparison as one can get, and while Renner provided plenty of caveats as to not say these are the same players, what Renner puts out there makes sense.

McConkey really is one of the best separators in space in this class and has similar strengths to Brown. While McConkey may or may not enter the same stratosphere of Brown’s elite level of play, it is interesting to see diverse opinions on the Georgia stud.

My own personal comparison for McConkey takes us back a little bit, as I see a lot of former Jets receiver Laveranues Coles in the Bulldogs game. Only time will tell how McConkey will turn out, and if any of these comparisons landed on the right spot.

Former Steeler Antonio Brown throws serious shade at Kenny Pickett

Antonio Brown trashed the idea of Kenny Pickett starting at quarterback for the Steelers this season.

Maybe he’s just saying the quiet part out loud but when know when it comes to former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, there is no quiet part. Brown has been unabashed in his criticism of his former team since he got himself traded and watched his career slowly fade into obscurity.

But this time, he might not be wrong. Brown threw some real shade at Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett but we suspect this one will go over better with Steeler Nation than some other diatribes about his former team.

The Steelers currently only have Pickett on the roster and as general manager Omar Khan noted, the team typically carries three. Pittsburgh ignored almost all of the quarterback prospects at the NFL Scouting Combine so it really might just be Pickett and some veteran filler behind him. And as Brown so aptly put it, is a legitimate concern.

Former Steeler Antonio Brown calls out new WR coach

Antonio Brown is up to his old tricks again on social media.

The Pittsburgh Steelers hired Zach Azzanni in part because of his no-nonsense attitude in hopes of getting the depth chart in order, especially George Pickens. Based on his resume he might be the best man for the job but former Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown says he’s lying.

When Steelers writer Amanda Godsey posted about the Steelers hire of Azzanni, she noted that Azzanni was the wide receivers coach at Central Michigan. He was there when Brown played there. Which is true.

Godsey also said that Azzanni was the lead recruiter who brought Brown to Central Michigan. We assume this is the part of the tweet that Brown took issue with and prompted him to say Azzanni was lying.

So is Brown saying that Azzanni used his recruitment of him as a bullet point on his resume to help him get hired by the Steelers? I suppose if the team felt like Azzanni was able to keep Brown in check in college he can do it with Pickens now but that feels like a reach, even for Brown.

Former Steelers WR Antonio Brown endorses Mason Rudolph as starting quarterback

Mason Rudolph has lots of fans among Steelers receivers.

It seems that every Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver past and present are chiming in about the Steelers quarterback situation. We’ve already heard Diontae Johnson endorse Mason Rudolph to be the starter next year, George Pickens called Rudolph the GOAT and now former Steeler Antonio Brown joined the party.

Brown went on Twitter and gave fans a shot to ask him some questions and one was a two-parter. First, who would he have start at quarterback and how many times would he target Pickens? Brown was definitive in naming Rudolph as the starter and said Pickens should see 16 targets per game.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has already said he wants the team to re-sign Rudolph and had nothing but positive things to say about his play at the end of the season. Rudolph should have some options in free agency and without assurances he will be the starter in Pittsburgh in 2024, he might move on for a better opportunity.

Antonio Brown blasts ex-Steelers S Ryan Clark for ‘cancer’ statement

Antonio Brown did not apprecaite what Ryan Clark had to say.

There is no denying when it comes to wide receiver, the Pittsburgh Steelers have had their share of good and bad outcomes. Former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark took it a step way beyond that when he was talking about current wide receiver George Pickens.

Clark called out many former Steelers wide receivers in comparison to Pickens including Antonio Brown referring to them as “a cancer in that room.”

Brown took some serious offense to this and took to Twitter to go after Clark big time. You can read the full post below.

The reality of the situation with Brown is he is right. And so if Clark. Brown’s entire career was a story of two halves. No doubt Brown is one of the best receivers in the Steelers history. Just based on the numbers he’s No. 2 but in terms of talent he was amazing. However, he was also a real problem that the rest of the team had to tolerate until he actively forced the team to trade him which lead to his completely meltdown to a Hall of Fame career.

Steelers WR George Pickens gets advice on controlling emotions from unlikely source

Antonio Brown hopes that sharing his experience in Pittsburgh with George Pickens might do him some good.

As many of the players on the Pittsburgh Steelers are, George Pickens is one frustrated dude. And he has every right to be after how he’s been misused this season. He’s been open more times than we can count and has acted out when overlooked.

But as a professional, there’s a time and place to vent those frustrations — behind closed doors.

Take it from … Antonio Brown.

“It starts in practice. You can’t come to the game and just be emotional about the ball. It starts in the meeting room, going and talking to coach Tomlin,” Brown said in a Dec. 11 Spaces on X via Steeler Nation.

“Coach Tomlin will take you to the offensive coordinator. They used to make a little box for me because I was one of those guys that needed the ball, and I love those guys who want the ball because they want to be great. But you’ve got to control that frustration because you don’t want the quarterback to get stressed out by you and not want to put you in the position you want to be in.”

Though it’s been counterproductive, Pickett being stressed out by Pickens’ antics could be what’s led to him being virtually ignored.

Brown suggests getting back in the good graces of his coach and teammates by communicating.

“You gotta play smarter, you gotta be willing to learn different positions, and you gotta be quarterback-friendly,” Brown said. “I advise GP to go talk to Pickett, go talk to Tomlin, go talk to the offensive coordinator. And get you a play box so when stuff breaks down, or the game is not going well, you can still be involved to do what you desire to, and that’s help the team win. It all starts with leadership, communication, and being on the same page with the people around you. You’re only as good as the people around you.”

It sounds like Brown doesn’t know that Pickett won’t be the quarterback going forward, possibly for the remainder of the regular season. No matter who’s at the helm, the advice remains the same. But that will require a lot of growing up, something that Pickens hasn’t shown he’s capable of.

Pickens has averaged just 3.5 targets per game over the last six weeks. In the first half of the season, with Diontae Johnson sidelined, the Georgia product registered three 100+ yard games, all wins.

A.J. Brown names his top 5 wide receivers of all time with a warning to older players

Philadelphia #Eagles A.J. Brown names his top 5 wide receivers of all time with a warning to older players

A.J. Brown is one of the best pass catchers in football, and after three straight monster performances, he’s second in the NFL in receiving yards (672), and he’s on pace for close to 1,900 yards after six games.

Brown and the Eagles are preparing for Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins, with their speedy pass catcher leading the league with 814 yards, and he cruises towards 2,000+ yards on the season.

On Friday, the Eagles All-Pro was asked to name his top five wide receivers all time, and he’s catching some flak for excluding some massive names.

Brown joked that he meant no disrespect to any older player left off his list.

Antonio Brown drops video, wants to return to call the plays in Pittsburgh

Antonio Brown has been itching to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a while, but now it’s in a different role.

Antonio Brown has been itching to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a while now. But now it’s in a different role: Offensive coordinator.

“Matt Canada is a terrible offensive coordinator,” Brown said on X. “Last week, we scored six points in four quarters. I think I should call the plays being that I’m an offensive skill and I put the players in the best position to emphasize their skills.

“Check me out, AB offensive coordinator. Ya dig.”

It’s sad that in the crazy fantasy world where Antonio Brown is the offensive coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he’d be an upgrade over what they currently have.
