MSU cornerback transfer has found his new home

Michigan State freshman cornerback Antoine Booth made the decision that he was going to enter the NCAA transfer portal after not logging any playing time in his only season with the Spartans.

Booth was a member of Mel Tucker’s 2021 recruiting class, the first of his tenure in East Lansing. Booth was a 3-star prospect out of DeMatha Catholic in Baltimore, Maryland.

Booth has found his new landing spot, he will be heading to James Madison University. Booth is a legacy of JMU with his dad being a member of the school’s hall of fame.

Michigan State football CB enters NCAA transfer portal

MSU has lost a cornerback to the NCAA transfer portal

Another departure has been made public as spring ball has come to a close. Redshirt freshman cornerback Antoine Booth has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. Booth was a member of Mel Tucker’s first recruiting class at Michigan State.

Booth came to Michigan State from DeMatha Catholic in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a 3-star prospect that ranked No. 1189 nationally. Booth originally chose the Spartans over offers from Maryland, Virginia, Temple and UMass.

Booth is the fifth member of Tucker’s first recruiting class to enter the transfer portal.

Michigan State Football has offered 3-star RB Kevin Winston Jr., who is the teammate of recent MSU commit Antoine Booth at DeMatha.

On Monday, Michigan State Football and head coach Mel Tucker received a commitment from 3-star cornerback Antoine Booth out of DeMetha Catholic High School in Baltimore, Maryland. The next day, MSU offered one of his most talented teammates in 2022 prospect Kevin Winston Jr., who announced his offer on Twitter on Tuesday.

Winston is the No. 15 ranked player in the state of Maryland according to 247sports and their No. 43 ranked running back in the 2022 class. As of right now he only has offers from Maryland and Michigan State according to 247sports.

Three-star Baltimore cornerback Antoine Booth commits to Michigan State

Mel Tucker lands his sixth commitment of the 2021 recruiting class.

Michigan State is reaching out east for their latest football recruit.

Cornerback Antoine Booth, a three-star prospect out of DeMatha Catholic in Baltimore, MD, announced his commitment to Michigan State Monday afternoon.

Booth chose Michigan State over power five offers from Maryland, Rutgers, and Virginia. He is rated an 84 in the 247Sports composite rankings and is the 26th-best player in the state of Maryland. Booth is the sixth commitment in MSU’s 2021 class and the second defensive back to make his pledge to MSU. Defensive line coach Ron Burton offered Booth in January and Mel Tucker reaffirmed that offer when he took over the program in February.

Booth is not the first Spartan to come from DeMatha Catholic. Former standout linebacker and current Director of Player Engagement Darrien Harris arrived to East Lansing from the Baltimore football powerhouse.

Michigan State’s 2021 class ranked 35th in the country prior to Booth’s pledge and has yet to be updated at the time of publishing.
