Watch: Ohio State football’s final game trailer of the 2023 season, the Cotton Bowl

Are you hyped up yet Buckeye fans?

The Ohio State football season is coming to an end, as they will play its final game of the season on Friday evening in the Cotton Bowl against Missouri.

As the Buckeyes social media account does every game week, they drop a hype trailer ahead of the game. This one was appropriately narrated by former Ohio State linebacker Andy “The Big Kat” Katzenmoyer.

If you are wondering why the chose No. 45, all you have to do is YouTube his monstrous hit he had against Missouri’s Corby Jones, which most like would have been targeting in this era, but the game was different back then. The hit happened in 1997, one of the last games the Buckeyes faced off against the Tigers.

Anyways, the Ohio State social media account dropped the game trailer today and it’s a doozy.

If that didn’t get you excited for tomorrow, I’m not sure what will. Go Bucks! Beat Missouri!

59 days till Patriots season opener: Every player to wear No. 59 for New England

Here’s a list of every Patriots player to wear the No. 59 jersey number

The New England Patriots are now 59 days away from opening up their 2023 regular season at home against the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles.

So we’re continuing our countdown series by listing every Patriots player that has ever worn the No. 59 jersey.

Linebacker Terez Hall is the current Patriots player that wears the number, but there have been a total of 23 players that have worn it throughout franchise history. There are more recent examples like linebacker Anfernee Jennings, and then there are examples like Brian Stenger, who wore the number all the way back in 1973.

Here’s every Patriots player that has ever worn the No. 59 (via Pro Football Reference):

Ohio State football ‘Face of the Linebacker Position:’ Vote!

When you think of the linebacker position at Ohio State, what historical player comes to mind first? Vote inside the article! #GoBucks

We’re still gearing up for the season and you are most likely stuck between queueing up last year’s Rose Bowl victory over Utah on the DVR for the umpteenth time, reading rankings and listicles that include Ohio State, and yearning for the start of the college football season.

Sounds like a perfect time to continue the series we’ve embarked upon here at Buckeyes Wire. We call it the “Face of the Position,” and it’s really exactly as it sounds. When you think of a position group at Ohio State, who do you think of? From quarterback to linebacker, to placekicker and beyond, OSU has some of the most iconic and historical college football players that have taken their place among the best in the game.

However, one player stands out above all else when you shroud them behind the colors of scarlet and gray, and that’s where we are going to ask for your assistance.

As we get ready for the start of the season, we’ll keep going through these until you identify a winner by vote.

We’ve already looked at the quarterback position, running backs, wide receiversoffensive linemen, tight ends, defensive tackles, and defensive ends. It’s now time to move to the defensive side of the ball and start with an underrated defensive tackle position.

We’ll keep voting up for three days, and at the end of it, we’ll reveal the winner of each. Make sure you scroll to the bottom to cast your vote from the nominees in a Twitter poll and feel free to write in a candidate if you think of another player.

Andy Katzenmoyer among several former and current Ohio State football players graduating Sunday

The “Big Kat” is getting his degree from OSU on Sunday. #GoBucks

Twenty-three years after completing his college career at Ohio State, former linebacker Andy Katzenmoyer is getting his degree from THE same university.

For those of you old enough to remember, Katzenmoyer, or “The Big Kat,” was a freakish athlete that is one of the best to ever play linebacker at OSU. At 6-foot, 3-inches, and 260-pounds, the former Buckeye great ran like a 220-pounder and was one of the most intimidating players of his day in the college game.

He was the first Ohio State linebacker to win the Butkus Award and one of just two all-time along with another great linebacker, James Laurinaitis. Katzenmoyer was a consensus All-American in 1997 and a three-time first-team All-Big Ten performer who was drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the NFL draft in 1999. He went on to win a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2002, but his career was cut short due to a neck injury.

Now, thanks to the OSU Dept. of Athletics’ degree completion program, Katzenmoyer will be handed his degree, no doubt fulfilling a lifelong goal of his.

We say congrats to the Big Kat and the rest of the Ohio State graduates for completing something nobody can ever take away from them.
