Oklahoma Sooners at West Virginia: All-Time Series History

What does the history look like between the Oklahoma Sooners and the West Virginia Mountaineers? From @john9williams

Last year’s contest marked the ninth-straight win for the Oklahoma Sooners over the West Virginia Mountaineers. Unlike the previous six, the Sooners struggled to score, needing a last-second field goal from [autotag]Gabe Brkic[/autotag] to seal the deal.

The win a year ago also marked the last significant workload for 2022 bell cow running back [autotag]Eric Gray[/autotag].

Against a tough Mountaineers defensive front that featured [autotag]Dante Stills[/autotag] and [autotag]Akheem Mesidor[/autotag] (now with Miami), Gray and the Sooners offensive line struggled to get the running game going. He carried the ball 12 times for 38 yards. Though it was a rough day on the ground, Gray found a way to make an impact through the air on the first drive of the game.

With the Sooners facing a 4th and 4, [autotag]Spencer Rattler[/autotag] threw a swing pass out to Gray who worked his way down the left sideline for a 38-yard gain to set the Sooners up with a first and goal at the eight-yard line. Three plays later, [autotag]Spencer Rattler[/autotag] found [autotag]Austin Stogner[/autotag] for a five-yard touchdown to make it a 7-7 game.

After both teams scored on their opening drive, a slugfest ensued and Oklahoma came out on top after Rattler orchestrated a game-winning drive to set up Brkic’s field goal as time expired.

This year should be a return to the high-scoring matchups that we’ve seen in the years prior as both defenses give up around 30 points per game.

Let’s take a look at the all-time series stats from Winsipedia.

Alabama’s all-time record against Arkansas

A closer look at Alabama’s all-time record against the Arkansas Razorbacks!

Alabama will have its final home game of the 2021 season this Saturday as they take on SEC West foe Arkansas.

Arkansas has become a familiar face for the Tide since the Razorbacks joined the SEC in 1991. But the two programs faced off before Arkansas made the move.

The first-ever meeting between the Razorbacks and the Crimson Tide was back in January of 1962 in the Sugar Bowl. Alabama won a defensive struggle in New Orleans 10-3.

Their next meeting was not until the 1980 Sugar Bowl when a matchup of hall of fame coaches in Bear Bryant and Lou Holtz led their respective squads into the contest with undefeated records. Alabama once again got the best of Arkansas, defeating the Razorbacks 24-9.

Alabama and Arkansas would not meet again until the Razorbacks officially joined the SEC. In the first matchup as conference foes, Alabama traveled to Little Rock and dominated the Razorbacks 38-11.

It has been much of the same ever since. Alabama is currently on a 13-game winning streak over Arkansas and overall they own a 21-8 series advantage.

Alabama and Arkansas will meet again this Saturday inside of Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS.

Alabama’s all-time record against LSU

The Alabama-LSU matchup is something we all look forward to each season. Here is a closer look at Alabama’s all-time record against the Tigers of LSU.

Ever since Nick Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa, the Alabama and LSU matchup has been one of the most anticipated each season.

Even before Saban arrived the rivalry was one of the best in the SEC, Saban added just a little extra flare.

In Saban’s first season at Alabama, LSU got the best of Saban and the Tide, winning 41-34 in Tuscaloosa. The next season, Saban took a more talented team to Baton Rouge and beat the Tigers in Death Valley 27-21 in overtime.

In Saban’s tenure at Alabama, the Crimson Tide owns an 11-4 record over the Tigers of LSU. One of those wins, of course, was for a BCS National Championship in January of 2012.

One of the most famous games between the two programs is what is known as ‘The Game of the Century’, a matchup that LSU won 9-6.

The two schools first met way back in November of 1895 when LSU beat Alabama 12-6.

Overall, Alabama owns a resounding 54-26-5 series advantage over the LSU Tigers.

This Saturday the two teams will renew their heated rivalry inside of Bryant-Denny Stadium at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Alabama’s all-time record against Mississippi State

Alabama has simply dominated the Mississippi State Bulldogs for over a century.

Even with the bad taste of Alabama’s loss Saturday night to Texas A&M still in the mouths of the Alabama faithful, it is time to move on and look ahead to this week’s opponent, the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Alabama and Mississippi State first took the field against each other all the way back in 1896. Alabama defeated the Bulldogs that November day in Tuscaloosa 20-0.

Currently, Alabama owns a 13 game winning streak over Mississippi State. But that is not even the Tide’s longest winning steak against the Bulldogs. The Crimson Tide once owned a 22 game winning streak dating from 1958 to 1979.

Alabama leads the all-time series against Mississippi State, 83-18, and there have also been two ties between the schools.

Kickoff time for this week’s matchup is set for 6:00 pm CT on ESPN.

Alabama’s all-time record against the Mercer Bears

What is Alabama’s all-time record against the Mercer Bears?

Alabama will make its home debut of the 2021 season this Saturday as they host the Mercer Bears.

The two programs last met back in the 2017 season, a contest that Alabama won by a score of 56-0.

Bryce Young and the rest of the Tide players look to carry their hot start in Atlanta back home to Tuscaloosa this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. CT.

Alabama’s all-time record against the Miami Hurricanes

What is Alabama’s all-time record against the Miami Hurricanes?

We are now just five days away from Alabama and Miami facing off in Atlanta to kick off the 2021 season.

Alabama and Miami are two of the most storied programs in college football history so this is truly a matchup of two of the giants in college football.

The Crimson Tide and the Hurricanes have faced off a total of seventeen times and Alabama owns a decisive 14-3 advantage.

The teams have not played each other since Alabama dominated Miami for the National Championship in the 1993 Sugar Bowl.

The teams first met all the way back in November of 1941, in a game that Alabama won 21-7.
