Multiple Ohio State football players earn Big Ten defensive honors

The Buckeye defenders were some of the best of the Big Ten. #GoBucks

Now that the Big Ten regular season has concluded, we found out today which Ohio State football players earned All-Conference defensive and special teams honors.

One stood out more than the others, but in total 13 different Buckeyes were honored by the conference. Three players made the first team, second team, and third team All-Big Ten, while four players made the honorable mention list.

It was clearly a good season for the Ohio State defense, even if it didn’t end as we all would have liked it to. Find out below which Buckeye defenders/special teams players made the list and who was honored as the best at his position in the conference.

Every Wisconsin defensive player on a 2021 All-Big Ten team

Wisconsin’s sensational defense earned well-deserved all-conference honors

As the 2021 season draws to a close, the Big Ten announced all-conference defensive selections on Monday.

There were a number of Badgers who made varying levels of All-Big Ten teams, from underclassmen earning their first honor to seniors who have become all-conference regulars.

Wisconsin linebacker Leo Chenal took home the top award at his position, being named the 2021 Butkus-Fitzgerald Big Ten Linebacker of the Year.

Wisconsin’s defense unsurprisingly dominated Big Ten awards, as the Badger unit had every starter honored.

From the first-team honorees to a number of Big Ten honorable mentions, here is a look at every member of the Badger defense who earned all-conference honors in 2021:

On Monday morning, Pro Football Focus released their Preseason All-Big Ten Team and several Wisconsin Badgers made the list.

In addition to being named as an honorable mention PFF All-American, senior Wisconsin linebacker Jack Sanborn was named as second-team All-Big Ten alongside his partner on defense Leo Chenal. The only Badgers to make the first team were tight end Jake Ferguson and offensive guard Josh Seltzner.

Although the Badgers were represented well in this year’s PFF Preseason All-Big Ten Team, it was surprising to see that no Wisconsin running backs or edge rushers made the cut.

Compiling an all-Big Ten team to defeat the Ohio State Buckeyes

The age-old question: who is ever going to defeat Ohio State and change their run of consecutive conference titles. The Wisconsin Badgers

The age-old question: who is ever going to defeat Ohio State and change their run of consecutive conference titles.

The Wisconsin Badgers had two good shots at it recently, losing by six in 2017 and leading the Buckeyes by three scores in 2019. But Ryan Day’s program is on a tear, and the odds say 2021 won’t be the year they give up the crown.

So I’m here to pose and answer a critical question: Is there an all-Big Ten team that could take the field with Ohio State and finish on top?

Here is what my squad would look like (taking position groups, not individual players, from each school’s roster):
