Michigan State hockey: Where and when to watch the Big Ten Championship game vs. Michigan

It’s a huge day for Michigan State sports fans. The same day the Spartans will face the Tar Heels in the NCAA Tournament, the Michigan State hockey team will host their bitter rivals, Michigan, for the Big Ten Championship.

Below, you can see everything you need to watch the game.

Big Ten hockey championship game: 1-seed Michigan State Spartans (23-9-3) vs. Michigan Wolverines (21-13-3)

When: 8 p.m. Saturday.

Where: Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing.

TV: Big Ten Network.

Rutgers wrestling: Pre-seeds announced for 2024 Big Ten Championships

The Big Ten announced its preliminary seeding for the Big Ten Wrestling Championships, with eight Scarlet Knights ranking in the top ten.

On Monday, the Big Ten Conference announced its preliminary seeding for the 2024 Big Ten Wrestling Championships, with eight Scarlet Knights ranking in the top 10 of their respective weight classes.

The Big Ten Championship is scheduled for March 9-10 in College Park, Maryland, and Rutgers wrestling will have a heavy footprint within the tournament.

Rutgers junior Dylan Shawver earned the highest pre-seed for the Scarlet Knights, ranking No. 2 in the 133 weight class. Shawver is the highest pre-seed for Rutgers wrestling at the Big Ten Championships since Anthony Ashnault was the No. 1 seed at 149 pounds in 2019.

Rutgers Yaralsau Slavikouski in the heavyweight division follows behind Shawver, ranking No. 4. Along with Shawver and Slavikouski, No. 6 seed Jackson Turley (174), No. 7 seed Mitch Moore (141), No. 7 seed John Poznanski (197), and No. 8 seed Brian Soldano (184) all received top-eight seeds ahead of the conference tournament.

Junior Dean Peterson received the No. 9 seed in the 125 weight class, and junior Michael Cetta received the No. 10 seed in the 149 division. Also, juniors Al DeSantis and Anthony White received the lowest rankings for Rutgers wrestling, ranking No. 11 and No. 13 in the 157 and 165 weight classes.

The Spartans and Badgers split the series, but it was MSU with the last laugh, clinching the regular season Big Ten championship.

Michigan State went into Madison, Wisconsin, and took down the Badgers of Wisconsin to win the Big Ten regular season championship for the first time in program history.

The game was clinched just after the midway point in the third period, when Lebster broke a 2-2 tie with a gorgeous goal.

The Big Ten landscape underwent drastic changes this offseason.

No longer will a regional Big Ten West division allow programs such as Wisconsin and Iowa to skate by and win close to 10 games per season. Michigan State hockey traveling to Wisconsin, set to play for Big Ten Championship

MSU heads to Wisconsin for a weekend series with a Big Ten Championship on the line:

The biggest hockey series of the season is coming on the last weekend of the year, and Michigan State is gearing up for a war to win the Big Ten regular season championship.

Michigan State enters the series up two points on Wisconsin, with two games to play inside of the Kohl Center this weekend.

If the Spartans get two points, the two teams will be co-champions. If the Spartans earn three points, or more, they are outright champions. In the event the team’s are co-champions, MSU would earn the 1-seed in the Big Ten Tournament. One point or less, Wisconsin takes home the Big Ten crown.

The first game of the series will take place on Friday at 9 p.m., while Saturday’s game will also be at 9 p.m., both on Big Ten Network Plus.

Jim Harbaugh sprinted away from his Gatorade bath after Michigan won the Big Ten

Jim Harbaugh said no thanks to the Gatorade bath.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh had plenty of things to celebrate after his Wolverines won the Big Ten championship game over Iowa, but a Gatorade bath wasn’t one of them.

As the clock ticked down to zero and Michigan sealed a 26-0 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes, a couple of Wolverines grabbed the Gatorade container and tried to soak Harbaugh in a victory shower.

Well, Harbaugh was absolutely having none of it as he sprinted away and somehow avoided getting drenched. Like, he didn’t just playfully jog away before accepting his soaking fate.

He booked it out of there like the last thing he was going to do was be covered in Gatorade.

Look, we get it. Gatorade baths are not the most enjoyable ways to celebrate winning your conference, even if they are absolutely ceremonial in sports.

Harbaugh clearly wasn’t ready to be covered in Gatorade for the rest of the night, and he somehow won both the Big 10 and his sprint to stay dry for all of the postgame festivities.

MSU has clinched the 2023 Big Ten Championship, their second straight title:

Michigan State women’s soccer has just clinched the 2023 Big Ten Regular Season Championship, their back to back Big Ten championship after winning the crown in 2022.

In 2023, the Spartans held a 12-3-3 record overall, but a 7-1-2 record inside the conference on their way to the championship.

As the one seed in the Big Ten Tournament, the Spartans will face off Iowa on their quest for a conference tournament championship.

With Badger fans already on the edge of their seats ahead of the 2023 season, the College Football Report got them even more fired up Friday.

With Badger fans already on the edge of their seats ahead of the 2023 season, the College Football Report got them even more fired up Friday. They tweeted out a highlight reel from Wisconsin’s 70-31 Big Ten Championship victory over Nebraska.

In that contest, three legendary running backs (Montee Ball, James White, Melvin Gordon) produced some insane stat lines, as seen below. All three of the athletes went on to the NFL, two of which, White (3x) and Gordon (2023) have won Super Bowls.

Ball-carriers like these guys have made it hard to ignore Wisconsin as the potential “running back university” and stars like Jonathan Taylor and Braelon Allen have followed in their footsteps in recent years.
