Michigan State football releases availability report for week 2 vs Richmond

Check out MSU’s availability report ahead of the week two contest with Richmond:

A part of new rules in Big Ten football, schools must release an availability report two hours before their scheduled gametime.

Ahead of MSU’s week two game against Richmond, the Spartans have released who will be out and who will be questionable for the contest with the Spiders.

Nothing much has changed from the availability report a week ago against Central Michigan, aside from WR Alante Brown being out with a concussion.

Michigan State football releases official statement on Alante Brown’s injury

MSU has released an official statement surrounding the Alante Brown situation:

There was a great deal of controversy during Michigan State’s win over Central Michigan surrounding Nebraska transfer wide receiver Alante Brown.

On the first play of the game, Brown suffered a brutal looking head injury that almost surely was a concussion, judging from the naked eye. After getting carted out on a stretcher, Brown returned to the sideline for a kickoff later in the half before being seen in street clothes in the second half.

With the concern of head injuries, a lot of discourse came about from Brown’s situation, which the MSU athletic health staff responded to:

Michigan State is heading into year four of the Mel Tucker era in East Lansing, and in desperate need of having a bounce back year, after a 5-7 campaign a year ago. Tucker and his staff dipped into the transfer portal once again to help reshape the starting roster and has seemingly done a strong job.

For MSU to have the bounce back year they have their eyes set on, the Spartans are going to need several of there incoming transfer to perform as advertised and step up in a big way.

Michigan State football lands commitment from Nebraska WR transfer

MSU has landed the commitment of Nebraska transfer WR Alante Brown

Alante ‘Cadillac’ Brown has made it official, and has committed to play football at Michigan State. Brown has spent the previous three seasons at Nebraska.

The move makes Brown’s career path come full circle, as Brown was once committed to play for Michigan State under Mark Dantonio.

In his Nebraska career, Brown recorded 22 catches for 262 yards. He will compete to be the starting slot wide receiver for the Spartans in 2023.

Michigan State football offers Nebraska wide receiver transfer

MSU has extended an offer to a Nebraska wide receiver transfer

Michigan State has sent an offer to Alante Brown, a wide receiver transfer from Nebraska, by way of Chicago. The Spartans hosted Brown on a visit earlier this week.

In 3 seasons with Nebraska, Brown caught 22 passes, recording 262 yards. He also returned 16 kickoffs. The Spartans would be adding a dynamic, speedy receiver to the fold if they were able to seal the deal with Brown.

Michigan State football hosting Nebraska transfer on visit

MSU is hosting a Nebraska transfer for a visit this weekend

Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker has made it very clear that the Spartans will be in the market for transfers as the spring portal window has opened up. The Spartans have been quick to make a move.

MSU is hosting Alante Brown on a visit this weekend. Brown has spent the last three seasons as a wide receiver with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Fans know Brown all too well after the roller coaster of a recruitment Brown had in the 2020 recruiting class when Mark Dantonio tried to bring the Chicago to East Lansing during his initial recruitment.
