Report Card: Grading Alabama’s 32-31 overtime loss the LSU

Grading Alabama’s agonizing 32-31 overtime loss to LSU.

Another undisciplined performance on the road by Alabama led to another loss by the Crimson Tide, this time at the hands of the LSU Tigers.

Head coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] can’t seem to get through to this team about consistency in performance and playing intelligent and situational football.

[autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] and the Alabama offense did not have their best performance and the Alabama defense did not finish the game strong which led to the upset in Death Valley.

Now with two losses, Alabama is likely out of the mix to win the SEC West and a potential birth in the College Football Playoff.

Let’s take look at how the Crimson Tide graded out in their Week 10 performance.

First…the offense…

Alabama is now on the outside looking in at a possible bid to both the SEC Championship and the College Football Playoff. Alabama would have to win out and chaos, as we have never seen before, would have to take place in order for the Tide to have any title hopes.

Following the loss, Crimson Tide head coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] got behind the microphone to discuss the events that led to Alabama’s heart-breaking defeat to the Tigers.

Here is everything coach Saban had to say:

Alabama suffers another disappointing road to loss, falling to LSU in overtime 32-31.

[autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and Alabama have suffered another heart-breaking road loss, this time dropping an overtime contest to LSU, 32-31.

Alabama was once again plagued by untimely penalties on the road by committing a total of nine for 92 yards.

Alabama marched down the field on its opening drive but Bryce Young’s pass was behind JoJo Earle and the play resulted in an LSU interception.

Alabama’s offense never really found a rhythm until late in the contest as Young once again delivered in the clutch for the Crimson Tide, but the Tigers rolled the dice and went for two in overtime and succeeded to upset Alabama.
