UGA football offers DB Jaylen Mbakwe

The Georgia Bulldogs are offering a scholarship to class of 2024 defensive back prospect Jaylen Mbakwe.

The Georgia Bulldogs are offering scholarships to more and more players in the class of 2024. One of Georgia’s latest offers is to defensive back prospect. Jaylen Mbakwe.

Mbakwe is an unranked recruit at the moment. He is a freshman at Clay-Chalkville High School in Pinson, Alabama. The 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back has elite speed.

Mbakwe runs track, in addition to football, and ran an impressive 10.86 100-meters this past spring. Speed is extremely important at the defensive back position as underscored in the 2021 NFL draft.

The Clay-Chalkville speedster has four scholarship offers, but the Georgia Bulldogs were the first to offer. Mbakwe has offers from Arkansas, FSU and Virginia Tech.

On film, Mbakwe has impressive recovery speed. He is tough to throw deep on and has a good vertical jump. The unranked prospect will look to add to his frame and improve as a tackler. Mbakwe has the tools to be great player in college.

The class of 2024 defensive back announced his scholarship offer from Georgia via his Twitter account. Interestingly, Georgia wide receiver coach Cortez Hankton Jr. offered Jaylen Mbakwe a scholarship. Perhaps the Dawgs envision him as a wide receiver prospect.
